PNC merger cratered customer service!!!
I have had the FirstBank account for 20+ years and always enjoyed the bank because of the different service provided. I had the first customer surface experience with the new PNC organization and it was horrible. I waited over 20 minutes on hold even get a service representative my phone and all I was trying to do was add a friend to my Zelle payment account. The rep, who was hard to understand because their English communication was poor, asked very personal questions about the friend and what I was paying the friend for. I felt uncomfortable giving personal information about my friend and told them so. The customer service rep told me that they could not add the person as a payee unless I answered their questions. I told the rep I would just pay the friend via Venmo. When I got off of the phone, I tried to access my account, via the app, and was denied access. When I called the customer service number to determine why I’ve couldn’t access my account, I waited another 15 minutes to reach the customer service rep!!! and all of the years I’ve dealt with the old FirstBank, I never waited over two or three minutes for a rep!! Then, when a rap finally answered, they explained that I would have to speak with the fraud department about my account.
Temporary downtime???
I never used the app before but it was nice to have just in case I had a big expense and wanted to double check my balance. Months and months ago I tried to check and it said my logon information was incorrect. No problem, I clicked the reset password(forgot password) link and after putting in the information….Temporary downtime, can’t do it. I’ve tried a couple of times since, always at least a month later and always…Temporary Downtime. If you don’t want people to use a function on your website just take the function away. I HATE calling the 1-800 number just to do the most basic thing that any website has mastered for decades.

Absolutely disgusted PNC has removed use of bathrooms!!! I’m leaving after 15 years…PNC has a lot of nerve, horrible policy. So upsetting!!!

Worst bank Ever
Have 3 accounts with this bank for 25 plus years and if my checking falls below 2500.00 they immediately stick me with a fee! All accounts together are much much higher than 2500. We only keep minimum in checking in case of scammers! You w old think they would give a few days for us to transfer funds to address this but hell no they want the fees. This apparently has changed in the last few years as I was under the impression total accounts over 2500, no fees! They also fee us to death on our business account! Not a friendly family bank anymore! I’m going to look elsewhere after the first of the year and you all should too! With the buy out I’m betting this is just the tip of the iceberg!

I’ve been a FirstBank CO customer for over 5 years and I’ve never had so many frustrating issues logging on to my account. I hope this PNC takeover will not be traumatic or I am going to JP Morgan Chase Bank or a more stable local, established financial institution like a credit union. The time I have wasted on the phone and online (all to no avail) is intolerable.

The app just shows a white screen and doesn’t even load the login screen. I can still access my account online but I use the app so I don’t have to do that. I don’t know if this is a maintenance problem or a bug with the app but it’s really a big inconvenience for me. Please fix it.

Liars in customer service
She said I cursed at her for getting my money returned to me which she never got returned. So they cancelled me and kept my money. I’m sueing this bank

Major Headache
This app has to be one of the worst apps in the Apple Store. The Firstbank app is constantly down for updates and connectivity issues, so if you are experiencing an emergency you are pretty much stuck until Firstbank finally fixes the issue. This can take all day sometimes. It is so frustrating that when I need to access my account information, I cannot do so when this app is, as Firstbank calls it, "experiencing a system down time". This happens EVERY NIGHT. When this first happened to me, I was at a gas station past operating hours and I could not access my bank card. This was extremely troubling considering that I was in a remote area in Washington state. I had to wait 2 hours at the gas pump by my self, a 5'3" 105lbs woman, until Firstbank finally came back online. What I think is most upsetting though about this app is how often the Zelle transfer feature is inaccessible because of numerous tech issues with, as they state it, "Trouble with their third party payment processor Fiserv". Had I known what a nightmare/headache it would be using the Firstbank app and, how many tech issues it has as well, I would have banked elsewhere. Here we are Saturday night 06/28/25 and your App is DOWN AGAIN!!! I’m getting sick and tired of this Firstbank!! Of all the reasons to cancel my account this would be enough, however, FirstBank has given me more encouragement. FirstBank will charge you $12 a month for being poor as you have to keep at least $1500 in your account to avoid this charge. Also, they will not help you if you are a victim of fraud. FirstBank called me to tell me that my card had been compromised. However, they berated me when I had to dispute the fraudulent charges and threatened to cancel my account. This fraud was through no fault of my own and FirstBank accused me of being negligent with my card. I have always been responsible with my money as it is my MONEY. How could I be at fault if I didn't even know how someone stole my information? FirstBank was so rude and awful when my information was stolen and I can't believe they lectured me when they didn't keep me safe from fraud in the first place.
App Doesn’t Work Anymore
The app stopped working for me this week. When I open the app, it will briefly show a splash screen then it will just show a blank white screen. I’ve restarted my phone and deleted and reinstalled the app but nothing works. I never had any problems with the app before this. My phone is an iPhone 16 pro on iOS 18.5. My wife has an iPhone 13 mini on iOS 18.5 and her FirstBank app works just fine 🤷♂️
Doesn’t work
Since getting the update it has only given me a white screen. It was great before that. I can’t access any of my accounts on my phone now.
About to close all my accounts with them
Used to love this bank. Have been with them for 20 years - even when it was a pain because I moved to a state they didn’t serve. But now, they’ve started charging a $12 monthly fee if you don’t have ACH transfers or keep $1500 in your account. This is literally a tax on your poor customers for being poor and not having a job with direct deposit. Shame on you.

Issues every other week. After today’s issues it randomly will not let me log in without answering security questions every single time. Maddening. Might switch banks because of it.

Neither I nor my husband can login this morning. We entered saved credentials and got a never ending spinning gear on a white screen with FirstBank header. He deleted the app and reloaded it. Now he’s in but Zelle is unavailable.
No backward compatibility
I’ve had to replace three devices now because there’s no backward compatibility to older iOS’s.

Unfixed deposit bug.
Checks that have account numbers and routing numbers printed on the back of the check will not deposit through the mobile check deposit function. The app thinks that I’ve taken a picture of the front of the check, when in fact, it is the back of the check. I’ve already reached out to support for this, but received radio silence.
New update trouble
New update made it so I only get a blank screen. Deleted the app and reinstalled, still a blank screen. I’ve done this several times for the last 3 weeks. Annoyed.

When I open the app, it’s a blank screen. There’s absolutely nothing there. I have called everyone relevant and no one can help me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app more times than I can count. I have deleted my history and cleared my cache and reinstalled. Nothing.

This app is really frustrating to me. I have several accounts and often have to move money around and it is often offline and of course this occurs when I really need it. So I’m not a fan.
Face ID stops working
Face ID worked for a few months then stops working and have been logged out of my account for 3 months now
Won’t login
Since the new version came out a month ago, I’ve only been able to log into my account one time. I’ve removed the app and downloaded it over and over again and it still fails to allow me to sign in. Prior to the update it works fine now it’s garbage.

Disappointed by the Removal of Useful FirstGlance Widget
I’ve been a long-time customer of FirstBank and have generally been satisfied with their services. However, I’m very disappointed that they removed the FirstGlance widget, which allowed quick access to my account balances at a glance. This feature was incredibly convenient, and its removal has made managing my finances less efficient.
I hope the bank listens to customer feedback and considers bringing back this functionality. Accessibility and ease of use are important, and removing such a helpful tool feels like a step backward.

Constantly down
I get the spinning wheel of death every morning. The app is down constantly in the mornings. Very frustrating as I tend to review my account before work each morning.
Remote check deposit
This feature is inconsistent and very difficult to use. It kept giving me errors and when it finally said it would deposit after six tries. I got an error code again. It kept saying I was giving it the front of the check twice and I could visibly see that the photos on my electronic device were of the front and back of the check really frustrating.
Seriously needs a quick balance widget
What mobile banking app doesn’t have a widget to add that has your balances?? The app had it for the old IOS system but hasn’t updated for the new ISO time to catch up guys

Exit buttons don’t work
The app is not all that bad, but the “X” buttons to exit a screen do not work. When I enter certain settings, the only way for me to exit the page is to close the entire app and sign in again. This is annoying.
Frustrating and glitchy at best
Depositing checks using this app is insufferable. The amount of times the session “times out” even with continuous use is mind boggling. The auto capture is flawed as well.
