Outrageous Price
This is clearly an app for beginners that don't own manuscript paper and cannot write things out. $10 a month for the ability to make only 10 compositions is absolutely insane in the year of our Lord 2026. Haven't even looked, but I'm 99% sure there's a much cheaper and better option. And if there isn't, there will be soon.

Nightmare to Navigate
I have been using Flat for 2 years now and this year we were given a Flat for Education account by my school. After taking AP Music Theory all year and making compositions, I checked into my account one day to see all of my scores deleted. I found out that my school’s Flat for education account ceased and it most likely erased all my scores alongside the classroom which I made them in. I feel that I am justified in being angry at Flat for almost ruining my final grade and for erasing the work and experience I had over the year. The final nail in the coffin was when I tried to login to my personal flat account and it continuously redirecting me to flat for education. Flat’s issue with accounts and the website is frustrating and has really exasperating me. I have already tried to contact Flat, and hopefully they respond soon. For this reason, I will not be using flat until we come to a resolution.

Somehow my data reseted for some reason but I tried again and again it doesn’t work fix this

M4 IPad Pro, follow the exact tutorial to supposedly be able to drag a note to a new note if you want to change it. It does not work. No interest in learning this program any further if the basic functions that are right on their opening tutorial as well as their help menu do not work.

Can’t figure it out
It seems to assume you know the piano keyboard, and since I don’t, I have to keep deleting what I’m doing, and get no where. I would love to get my money returned as this is unusable for me. They should tell you in advance that it isn’t for people who aren’t piano players.

Does not have true live piano writing to sheet music. It will record the note, but not even the length of that note.

Can’t use offline
Simple as the title says. Can’t use any features of the app whatsoever while offline. There should be some kind of option to store your scores offline and resync when you connect again (or just opt out of cloud storage entirely).
Mobile UI is broken
When a song is played it doesn’t automatically follow it, when you press play the song plays but the symbol is still shown like it hasn’t been pressed, you cannot copy parts after pressing select all, overall the entire app is broken for mobile devices.
False advertising on free features
Exporting and sharing in midi and musicXML format is clearly listed in the free tier section of the app description - and is what motivated me to download the app - yet trying in app prompts that a subscription is required for that. So that’s a lie. Not sticking around to find out if they’re lying about anything else.

I use this app every day, idk what you guys did about half a week ago that completely messed up the UI, its almost unusable and extremely frustrating navigating ANY ASPECT OF THE APP. STOP CHANGING STUFF YOU DONT NEED TO CHANGE!!! PLEASE PLEASE GET RID OF WHATEVER IT WAS YOU DID PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU
Just say no
Don’t download. Don’t bother trying it. And whatever you do, don’t pay for it. This is not intuitive. It requires a lot of pointing and clicking just to get a few notes down. It tries to move you forward even if all you want to do is notate a chord. And if you want to sign in be prepared to be forced to use your Google or apple account to do so so they can “share” your info with each other. Honestly, this is worth zero stars.

Can’t use instruments
After I repaid my subscription it said im a non authenticated user
More low instrument
Wish more low brass/ low woodwinds instruments didn’t require the unlimited.
Can’t even change the tempo and the time signature
I was doing music in the app, and all of a sudden I couldn’t change the tempo. It just keeps turning blue and not showing up the tempo settings. This also happens to the time signature, it just kept turning blue, and not showing the time signature settings. It’s this a glitch that I have to fix? Please fix this!
