The exercises become extremely repetitive and the App makes it very difficult to cancel. No notice given prior to automatic renewal and then it is difficult to cancel. I would not recommend this app.

Could be great but developers don’t respond to user frustrations
I’ve been using Freeletics for a while, and while the AI-driven workouts are promising, there’s a big drawback: you can’t really customize or give feedback on certain parts of the routine. The warm-ups are often too intense with no way to dial them down, and the cooldowns only give you a fixed 5-second transition between exercises, which is often just not enough time. You end up fumbling with the phone to find a workaround, which breaks the flow.
Worse, the support forums are full of users asking for these features, but the developers aren’t listening. If they do respond they just say you’re on the wrong Journey (long-term workout plan), even though it’s the same issue across all Journeys. The app could be really great, but until they let users actually tweak these things or listen to feedback, it’s not worth the subscription cost. When my subscription runs out I’m switching to BodBot which is also not great, extremely clunky app, but at least it’s actually adaptable.

Free is not free. Requires subscription
This app did not list itself as containing in app purchases. It doesn’t work unless you subscribe to ridiculously expensive plan. Total trash.
Used to be free
Well, even I tried- I can’t afford to pay full year - and as only option - I am not even sorry. Support - don’t bother to write stupid replies I should contact support via email - I did. It’s not even pleasant experience - so I am not sorry for going somewhere else ;) I believe 1month plan exists.
Horrible customer service
Auto-renewed my membership without any reminders. Reached out to them as soon as I saw a charge hit my card (same day) but they refused to cancel and refund. I realize there are lots of things buried in T&C, but terrible customer support. I have not used this app for a very long time and did not realize the auto-renewal was sneakily turned on (I usually turn these off). I got NO reminders from them for the renewal coming up. Not nice. Shady business practices. Do NOT recommend.
Will not honor refunds
The app over the years has gotten worse I haven’t used it in an over 7 months. I was charged the annual fee and after reaching out to customer service told they wouldn’t refund it. This is the type of company you are doing business with, run and take your money to a company that cares.
Horrible Customer Support
I accidentally had my phone renew a subscription (one year, for $103 dollars) from an old account, while I had a current subscription just billed ($56) for a three-month subscription. I emailed customer support. They asked me for all the proof that I purchased both subscriptions. I sent them everything from my receipts, to the last 4 of my account number, and everything they asked for, just for him to say since it was from two separate accounts (even though they were both mine), they refuse to give me a refund. They also kept the one year canceled, but not refunded. So I ended up paying $160 just for a three month subscription. When I asked for a phone number to speak to a supervisor, he told me there is no phone number for customer service. I would not suggest this program as it’s already expensive, but especially because they clearly do not care about customers and refuse to provide refunds if issues arise. I have been a long-time customer of Freeletics and I would rate this experience, and the experience of having money stolen from me, a 0/5 stars. I would not trust this program again or recommend them.
Crashes in the middle of workouts
This app could not be more annoying. The app constantly refreshes when I’m looking at my daily workout and has now crashed three different times after an update while in the middle of a workout. of course this is after I paid.
Do not download this apps
It was not good at all, not recommended. The helps and supports center had never helped me to cancel and refund my money back at all which I did not attend to renew the plan. Go away

It’s genuinely annoying to be looking at a big obnoxious sign asking me to sign for some subscription which i can’t get rid of.
Beware of Auto-Renewal and Poor Customer Service
I initially thought Freeletics was an okay app-not great, but functional enough. Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse. Without any prior notification, I was enrolled in an auto-renewing subscription. When I reached out to request a refund for a subscription I didn’t even realize I was renewing, their customer service gave me the standard “you should have read the terms and conditions” excuse.
The terms are 10 pages long, and their lack of transparency around the renewal process feels like a deliberate tactic. Their customer service was absolutely useless and unwilling to help resolve the issue. It’s sad, but I’ll never use this app again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Be cautious if you decide to download-it’s not worth the hassle.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service and total lack of understanding in reviewing customer’s decision on subscription cancellation. I have contacted directly on the day i was billed to cancel my subscription but customer service rep Raphael refused to do so without even checking this with supervisors. Any decent company that is based in the US would immediately review this and help its customer to address the issue, they obviously could care less on that and shame on them all
Misleading Age Restriction
I downloaded this app because it was labeled as suitable for ages 4+, but I was really disappointed when I tried to sign up. While entering my birthday (2013), the app wouldn’t let me proceed unless I changed my birth year to 2007 or earlier. This doesn’t make any sense if the app is supposed to be for ages 4+!
I was really looking forward to working on my workout goals early and getting started on my fitness journey, but this restriction stopped me. If the app isn’t actually for younger users, it should be labeled properly. This setup is frustrating and misleading. Please fix this so the app matches what you advertise!

Not so free Letics
Looking for something free that would guide me through some exercise. This one says it’s free but after you answer some questions it asks you what plan you want to buy.

Beware of hidden auto renewal policy
They secretly turn on auto renewal and then charge you without any notice once your membership is up. I asked for a refund several hours after the renewal and they refused.
Watch your subscription renewal date
The app itself is good. Solid workouts and a strong variety of exercises. The problem is with the billing. They will not alert you to an upcoming renewal, unlike most other app developers. You better write down your renewal date and cancel prior if you don’t want to be charged $100+. The app renewed for me at midnight. I contacted them within 20 mins explaining I was not aware of the renewal date and since I no longer used the app, I did not want to renew. They dug in, saying it’s their policy not to give refunds and that I should have known the renewal date. I have 300 apps on this phone, and I don’t track that. I suspects most others do not as well. I eventually got my refund thanks to PayPal, but the developer fought it tooth and nail. The company should rely less on its fraudulent practices of hiding renewal dates deep in the TOS and refusing refunds and instead focus on developing an app people want to renew.

I’m poor so I thought maybe I’d try a few free apps to help me. Nope! This app isn’t free. Just like all of these wallet vampires all the free stuff is basically garbage with zero ways to customize it to your needs if you’re disabled. Just use ads!!
Way too hard with no way to change it
I wish this app had a free trial. Instead I spent $50 on an app I used once. The custom workout part was fine (if repetitive) but the “warm up” was INCREDIBLY IMPOSSIBLE for a beginner like myself and I never found a way to change. Ok for folks who already fit I guess

Is there no way to contact customer support? Also, I'm new to this but if I select certain equipment, shouldn't the list of appropriate exercises reflect the equipment I've chosen?
Pretty disappointed
I never write reviews but this app has truly disappointed me or maybe it’s user error. I keep getting the same workouts. I cant do certain things like crunches. 8/10 I keep getting crunches in my session. I can’t just delete the one workout I have do change the whole workout plan for the day. It’s a great stretching app but workout routine’s ordinary nothing special waste of money!!!!

A waste of money beyond repetitive. Doesn’t adapt to HRT monitor and starts off using max weights. Terrible for beginners. A waste of money; not worth the 100+. Refund me.

Sneaky auto-renewal
They automatically renew your subscription without sending a heads-up first. I tried the app for a month, got bored of the very repetitive exercises, and was just now charged for another period despite not having used it in months.

Predatory app, makes it difficult to cancel subscription, once it was canceled they still took money for another year subscription, had to call the bank to get my money back.

Best privacy policy out there, period.
App itself provides NO audible guidance or coaching (how they save money and apply globally - don’t need to translate anything other than the countdown 5-4-3-2-1). This means you are constantly interrupting workout to find the next move (instead of flowing from one to the other) and have NO guidance on form, things to look for, etc. So you could be doing all of it totally incorrectly and you would never no because there are NO TIPS (make sure you are focused on glutes, breath in here, look up here, support your head there).
And finally, this ONLY works in the native portrait mode of your phone/tablet. Need to charge your tablet ? Forget a workout if your charger port is at the bottom. Want to put it in landscape to balance on a keyboard so it doesn’t fall over? Forget it.
If you are fit and/or have access to a personal trainer who can make sure your form is correct and want a robust workout schedule that is curated for you (but not by your personal trainer?) go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Sadly, because, best privacy policy in the business

Another issue is the lack of balance in the programming. The stretching routines don’t always align with the muscles being worked. I’ve noticed time spent stretching areas that weren’t used, while the muscles that were actually targeted are sometimes overlooked. This makes the recovery portion feel ineffective.
Most importantly, I haven’t seen any meaningful results, including weight loss, despite sticking with the program. The combination of repetitive workouts, mismatched stretching, and lack of progress has made the experience frustrating overall.
I was hoping for a more dynamic, well-rounded fitness program that adapts and delivers results, but this app hasn’t provided that.

Not for disabled ppl or people that just started exercising.
App is excellent for healthy people I must say before anything else, but clearly is for someone that is already fit. I downloaded the app as I have a connective tissue disease and Hashimoto’s, which makes exercising very difficult, but my Doctor told me I need to build some muscle. I came in after a couple years of doing nothing and ask the app for basic training and still I’m not able to keep up with the exercises, they’re still very demanding for my body, I spend more time adapting the actual workouts and customising them than doing anything, and even so I can’t finish them most of the time, I’m 130 lbs so is not like by body weight is dragging me, I can imagine if some one heavier tried this app.

When my subscription was renewed, I wrote to Freeletics immediately stating this is a mistake, but their customer service told me 1. No refunds and 2. They would not reply to any more enquiries from me on this topic. terrible and unhelpful customer service, and terrible service for a customer who has been paying for 3-4 years.

Very Broken App
The onboarding is quicker than other fitness apps, however when trying to start a "fitness journey" as part of the onboarding it makes you select equipment and then input specifics of the equipment. This screen is broken and upon inputting anything it takes you back to the very beginning of "select fitness journey" and you have to do all that again just to get kicked back to the beginning. Had promise, but the app just doesn't work, unfortunately.
Buggy Home Screen
It seems like this app could have good content, but the main screen keeps refreshing when I’m trying to use it, which reloads back to the top. It’s incredibly frustrating since this is basic functionality. If it doesn’t resolve I’ll have to look into utilizing the 14-day return window.

Every exercise automatically pauses music playing on Spotify. Every time the app switches to a new exercise or set, it pauses my music.
You can’t post your workouts easily to the community tab. I have to press the button repeatedly to share like 15 times, and then sometimes it uploads it without my photo.
I’ve reached out to the support team before about this, but it’s been years and they still don’t have a feature to share your workout to other apps and include a photo. Instead, the workout is just a vague list of the titles of each segment of your workout with random statistics about the workout. There’s no useful information that shows what you’ve accomplished and you can’t even personalize the post with your own photo. It’s just a generic blue background that, frankly, looks ugly.
The app routinely crashes as well if you switch to another app like a music player or instagram while waiting in between sets.

Now it is just same workout app as thousands of others. The team lost its Northern start.

Downhill and confusing

I had stopped working out inside with bodyweight activities in favor of focusing on running. Recently in conversation with friends, I thought I would try to get back into it. sadly, this app is nothing like the app I used to use. I still can't even figure out most of the things. maybe if I could figure out how to orient myself in the app I could actually figure out how to come up with a training program. But the layout and general organization of the app is so confusing to me. I have no idea how to even really get started. I was able to find one or two routines that are free, but several of them are so difficult I cannot imagine paying for them.
Athena, Persephone, Amazon’s are gone. I saw that the earlier review triggered a response from the developers, but that link is invalid.
Seems to me that it is geared towards people who are already in shape.

Looks like it MIGHT be great
This app and the coaching it provides LOOKS like it might be a great app. However there’s no way to know if it is without paying a large amount of money. Which to be honest, I’m willing to pay, but why would I pay if I have no way of trying it out first? I’d even pay for a single week just to try it out, but not 3 months! As my dad always said: “looks can be deceiving, the proof is in the pudding”! Let my try the “pudding”!
