I’ve been in love with this game for 5 years. Never have I dedicated my time and energy into a game like I have with Genshin Impact. It’s become sloppy and disinteresting. The plot that I’ve analyzed for 5 years has been absolutely dragged. The designs? Disgustingly repetitive and an eyesore. Characters I’ve anticipated? Scrapped, discarded, or horribly re-written. This game doesn’t have the same whimsy it did. It’s not because things have changed, it’s that they’ve changed for the worse. It makes no sense. Slop.

Almost every female character has detached sleeves, high heels, an impossibly short skirt, and an exposed top. Whenever the player base asks for something, the developers don’t listen, or if they do they add in the bare minimum. The game doesn’t give enough rewards for f2p players to get characters because the billion dollar company wants more money. It makes the game hard to play when you know your voice doesn’t matter.
Waste of time
The most recent story quests are unacceptably long especially given that there is no skip button. If you don't want us to skip the story, then you need to make it shorter. Otherwise, you need to provide a skip button. Truly a waste of time.

The creators really don’t care about anything but money. They have no pride in the game at all. Completely ignore wishes that wouldn’t be that difficult to add such as a skip button. You can’t skip 15m of useless dialogue for side quests. It makes no sense. Also, the game gives free to play players hardly any in game currency meaning that you can’t really get any new characters other than bum ahh 4 stars. Please don’t play this game in the state it’s currently in.

If you want a gacha experience, there are so many other games that are 10x better in quality and better to their fan base. Not only has Hoyo refused to implement actual, substantive, meaningful QOL into this game, they are actively making the game worse. No skip button for story quests, but they are making the story even more bloated and boring, Nod Kai story was egregious, and you have to sit through it to unlock gameplay and content. Giving away less pulls / currency per patch, animations and designs are lacking compared to other games, endgame content heavily caters to the new characters. I returned to the game after almost 2 years and it was dreadful. If this game debuted today in its current state, it would not get nearly the same amount of praise as it does now. I feel bad for the true fans that Hoyo is still coasting on their good will, while not even giving them crumbs. I do not plan on returning to this game again.

Disappointing
Hoyoverse gives no consideration for its fans. They come up with the same cheap ideas to the point even an archon feels like a boring basic regular character. They use the same form for every girl outfit because they are too afraid to give them a new foundation. Hoyoverse should not be allergic to giving a girl pants or clothes that actually fit the weather they are living in. Its to the point even the girls have shorts and long socks in the teaser. I saw the new trailer for Snezhnaya and although the outfits for the characters were mediocre at best they have the same look just different characters with the short skirt in the front, chest showing, and shoulders showing. Its disappointing because this is a multibillion dollar company that can animate long dresses and pants. They have no problem when it comes to covering up the males when it comes to cold environment and then when it comes to the women they are half naked. All we want is just for them to dress like the region they are inspired off.

I’ve been playing genshin impact since 2022, and I’ve been hyped since then. You can imagine my disappointment when the designs came out, not only are they all the same outfit that has been on repeat for the past couple of years but the characters have no diversity in designs. It’s honestly so frustrating seeing all the males in the game covered up whilst all the females have to show skin. It doesn’t make sense on why the females are wearing such short skirts and detached sleeves in THE COLDEST region of Teyvat. It irks me, I was hoping for something more after waiting for years. Genshin, listen to your fans and stop being stupid.

There are so many problems with this game. As of now, the game content is pretty fun, but that’s about it. Problems:
1.Anticipated characters like columbina were actually revealed to be pure waifu-bait, the whole community feels robbed after knowing that this character was presented like a terrifying but alluring and graceful villain, but when she actually came into the game, she seemed weak and harmless, all while turning her into some stupid love interest for male players.
2.Another character who was supposed to be scary got her beautiful skirt shortened so that more of her legs would be visible. Her element got changed from geo (earth) to cryo (ice), which only supports the stereotype that female characters must be dainty and cannot hold physical power.
3. Almost every female character in the entire game has this one design blueprint: detached sleeves and bare thighs, usually paired with an open chest for no reason.
4. Even the Cryo Archon (basically the ruler of an extremely cold region) has succumbed to this unfortunate fate.
5. This million-dollar company is literally rolling around in its money, unable to see anything besides the potential money they can make. It is basically impossible to get the characters you want without paying for them, because the game provides less and less currency farming opportunities with each update. Hoyoverse wants us to spend as much money as we can.
6. Perhaps leaving female characters uncovered wouldn’t be that bad if they did the same to the male characters, but no. Male characters in the new cold region are covered head-to-toe, like they should be! But the female characters, like I mentioned earlier, have the same, boring, short dress/ shorts, detached sleeves, and bare thighs silhouette.
7. For all of these reasons, it is obvious that Genshin only sees women as money making opportunities, sexualizing them for no reason and making the female characters seem weak.
But hey! If you’re a creepy man who doesn’t see women as actual people, and have lots of money you want to spend on this game, then go ahead and download it!

Only limiting the skip button for snezhnaya is absolutely disgusting and your other games doing WAY better than this game is insane and embarrassing. Do better and step it up.

This game is designed for Wales people who love to spend over hundreds of thousands of dollars, the designs are all the same in different fonts and colors all the girls are sexualized. None of them men are sexualized inequality in this game is insane and I hope that one day we can review on them until they listen to community because they don’t care about your time either.

i’ve played genshin for around six years, and I’ve watched the absolute downfall of this game. its sad seeing the horrible updates, events, and even character designs. now, for rewards when playing this game? they reward the players with not even the bare minimum.

There is no originality in this game, this game doesn’t even go deep into the culture and when you do you make the culture that the character is based off white washed.. including the fact that for some reason 90% the girl characters have the same silhouette of clothes & miniskirt please make an actual good character design for once in ur life
Does this game every listen to the players?
I loved Genshin and I spent years playing it but has many problems. They reuse a lot of things like outfits and they are anything but it generous when it comes for in game currency because tell me why you can spent hours on this game just to get like 5 pulls max. The new region gives 60 pulls and if you think that’s a lot think about it like this. 60 pulls can’t even give you one five star even if you explore every corner of the region. Also now that probably the most awaited character is revealed I I’m kinda disappointed. All the characters in the up coming region looks like other characters and it always has the girls wearing distracted sleeves, low cut cleavage, short skirt and long hair in the back. I’m just disappointed of the game cause I didn’t just wait years for it to turn into this.

Genshin honestly had so much potential to be such a great game, and it was until Fontaine. After Fontaine everything just went downhill, first the character designs, especially WOMEN character designs. All the women have to show so much skin it’s insane? Chest windows? Small skirts? There’s more women with detached sleeves than PANTS. Now that the cryo archon has been released I am even more disappointed. All the women designs that have been revealed LEGIT ARE ALL THE SAME, it’s a COLD NATION, why aren’t they dressing like it’s COLD. But then you look at the men and oh my! Covered HEAD to TOE, it’s so sexist and honestly shows how genshin sees women. Character design can do so much for a character, like SOO much, but all of them have been BUTCHERED for FAN SERVICE. I wanna say it’s surprising but it’s not. Now then there’s people of COLOR, do you know where most darker skin people originate? WHERE THE SUN IS THE HOTTEST, so then why are the people in the DESERT, where the sun is BLAZING so light skin? It looks like they get sun burnt every time they go outside. Don’t even get me started on Nathan characters, it was basically a preview of what to expect from snez. So in total, this game is sexist and racist, honestly I’m upset and sad, genshin was a super fun game, I loved the game play and exploring the nations, but now I truly hope that this is the games downfall. It’s well deserved.

The designs are so top heavy there’s nothing on the legs. Another thing about Snezhnaya, it is a very cold nation and yet half of the women are in revealing clothes? While the men are covered up. Waited 6 years for this underwhelming tsaritsa design, wasn’t even mad about it I just kinda was hoping it would be better. :/ again this is all just my opinion but it kinda was predictable and underwhelming.

All designs for women have the same silhouette, boob window, stockings, and detached sleeves. Even in the coldest region they still got this theme going on, not a single jacket in sight. Do better.

Where has the concept of storytelling through design gone? Everything new is so boring, devoid of life or creativity- did the developers simply prompt “character design” into ChatGPT, and copy paste whatever came up for every single new character? The sexism shines through in the women they create especially. Every single design is born from the same cookie cutter. Hoyoverse is terrified of putting any genuine thought or care into designs, because the only thing they care about is creating the easiest silhouette for male players to play with bones over. Absolutely pathetic. Not even going to delve into the terrible dialogue. No, Hoyo, we don't need every character present to explain the same concept over and over.

Honestly, i wrote a long ahh review earlier, but it didn’t register, so all i’m going to say is that hoyo is a horrible company that doesn’t listen to its players, only when they are actually effected, meaning they lose profit, the skip button, the difference between male and female character design with men being fully covered up and with women almost always having the same formula of exposed chest, detached sleeves and bare legs, even in bad climates, the low rewards, and really, as an f2p, it is getting hard to actually play fully, they make thousand of characters and give us horrible rewards then expect casual players to have them to fully experience the game and dont even get me started with the dang resin, they never listen and they’re full of greed.

You can’t play endgame content without constantly needing the newest meta five star. That five star also needs a full team of five stars that run within a patch of each other. The game will give you maybe 70 pulls a patch and not care about fan complaints and expect that you’re grateful. They also have decided that all women characters must show their chest, shoulders and legs so the fan service is profitable.

When I first bought this game back in 2021 the game was one of the best I ever paid for, but as the years went by, I started to notice that this game slowly started to become a pay to win. The amount of money that you have to waste on this game is just diabolical, and you have to spend money to get the stuff that you want because the events that you get Primos don’t even give you enough for a five star anymore. So for new players, don’t even waste your time because this game will literally run your pockets dry it’s just not worth spending the money on.

This game sucks life out of me. From being unable to skip useless conversations that take 90% of the 6 hour mission. To taking ages to level up character and then it’s still not enough to beat the boss. The pulls are so disappointing it takes so much effort to pull a character. Even more to pull it a few times for the constellation. And that’s not all. There more issues but Genshin developers just don’t want to fix anything. This was fixed in Starrail but not in Genshin. Genshin. Fix your game. It’s becoming more annoying to play.

I have been playing this game since release and up to version 6.3 until I quit. I just could not take this game anymore. Genshin, PLEASE, for the love of God make this game loveable again. This game has so many issues. This game is greedy and unless you have 50 freaking hours to spend playing this game (which most people don’t have that free time) you can say goodbye to even thinking about getting that limited 5 star you’ve been wanting since they were first teased because you simply don’t have enough pulls. There is a massive power creep, exploration is boring, there are various paywalls, millimeter wonderland or whatever is useless. This is like watching your husband evolve into a dead beat dad you have to divorce because I used to love this game with all my heart it’s just gone so downhill and I’m boycotting until they get their act together.

I used to like this game a lot until it became a game for GOONERS, and became BORING, and EXPENSIVE. They only make females characters, and all the archons are females, and the plot are so uninteresting. Obviously a game that’s directed for the male gaze. To top it off just to get a 5 start character it’s like 400 hundreds dollars only once! It should be a 18+ game a this point bc I can’t afford putting that type of money on a game i only want to enjoy and have fun.
If you want to play this game, just know you will struggle as a free to play and won’t be able to even clear the abyss or any other challenge if you don’t have a premium team.
