So many ads, will have you tap “x” or “skip” about 5 times in 3 minutes before getting back to the game, sometimes he ads are perpetual, never ending, so I close the app then reopen it and have to watch the ad from the start

Love the idea and think it would be a great game if it was at all user friendly. There is barely any tutorial and it is so frustrating to never be able to tell how much power you are putting into a swing. Would be amazing if there was a power meter or some explanation of how it calculates power because idk if swiping speed matters or not.

Also preferably ads without literal p*rn

I bought a pile of gold and it was 10 dollars and I never got anything so I checked and reset the game nothing then I bought it again10 dollars and nothing game fun but hate scammers

This game has some good potential but oh my goodness is it ridiculously inconsistent and unrealistic. Club distances aRE WAYYYY off and so does the effect of wind. I live to see the day a 1 mph right to left wind pushes a faded drive 50+ yards to the left. Hitting a 3 wood (220 yds) out of rough with 80-85% max power would equate to 176 yds MIMIMUM, but yet it lands 45 yds short into water even with wind behind it to carry it. Absolute sorry excuse for a game and am warning others that if you’re looking for a realistic, consistent, and actually fun game, DO NOT GET THIS ONE.

Have tried every which way to remove my account inclusive of resetting my password. Even then, they give me an error code. This feels like entrapment

Wedges and putting are janky, and inconsistent, it’s largely pay to win , if you don’t wanna buy clubs it takes forever to get them yourself. I do not recommend, since the controls are wonky, it’s more frustrating than fun when you hit. You play like 5 rounds and all the sudden opponents shoot -7 under every round plus inconsistent controls make it almost as if you need to be perfect just to get a chest. LAME

When I downswing the aim is always some degrees left of where my backswing is and when I try to adjust for my swing to be on plane it messes up everything up. Makes no sense.

Life was better when I had this game deleted on my phone. Fake multiplayer with bots. A bunch of cheaters and bs tie breaking system

Good game but the ads are stupidly long. I timed one at over 2 minutes. That’s just not worth it to me.

The clubs that say there going 150 end up going 200 and the clubs that say there going 240 only go 150. And there’s an add after each hole. Way to go guys.

Started off ok. Pretty basic game. Then, it turned into nothing but ads. Pretty wack.

It will pull you in at first and then make it progressively harder to win against cpus and then designed to have to watch ads to continue. Clearly pay to win model and had to delete.

shame to give this review to an otherwise well build app, but requiring an internet connection to play offline (just to view an ad nonetheless) ruins any upside of the app

This was my original review that I’m coming back to change.
I do enjoy this game, especially the pull-back swing mechanic. It feels intuitive and adds some skill to the gameplay. My biggest issue, however, is that there’s almost no way to accurately judge how much power you’re putting into a shot, And how much the ball is going to spin once it makes contact with the ground.
From long distances, it’s usually straightforward. If you’re 200+ yards out, you can pull out a 3-iron, aim, and generally know what to expect. The problem starts when you’re anywhere from about 1 yard to 130 yards from the green. With wedges and short irons, you’re forced to guess on nearly every shot because the game gives very little feedback about swing power or expected distance + it slows the backswing down by 99%, why? Another thing is the shot shaping, you can have a great flick and it will still show you that you’re like .8° from where you need to be and it just doesn’t make sense. Putting is also terrible, gauging putts is harder in this game than it is in real life and that’s saying something. Putting should be hard but it shouldn’t be impossible for some short putts. There’s no way to tell how hard you’re hitting the ball.
As a real-life 13-handicap golfer, I’m at a level where I can reasonably judge how hard I’m swinging, how far a shot should travel, and where I need to aim. In this game, that sense of control just isn’t there. I’ve somehow managed to make my way to a +4 handicap in the game but I feel like I’m trash sometimes. A perfectly struck shot can still produce results that feel completely unpredictable.
The distance scaling also feels unrealistic. A 3-iron carrying 180 yards and then rolling another 35 yards isn’t something you’d normally see, even on extremely firm courses. I’ve only been playing for three days, and I’ve already quit many rounds because it feels like great shots are sometimes punished by mechanics that are out of the player’s control.
The wind is another issue. It either needs to vary more from hole to hole or be adjusted so its effect on the ball feels more natural. Right now it often feels exaggerated and inconsistent.
Course physics can also be frustrating. On Desert Palms, for example, the first hole is a 430-yard par 4 where the fairway appears to slope left. Yet balls hit on the right side can somehow funnel into the right bunker despite the terrain suggesting they should move the opposite direction. Situations like that make the course feel less believable.
Another complaint is how the game handles rock, trees and cart paths. When the ball hits one, it often just dies and settles nearby as if it landed in soft sand. That’s extremely unrealistic. In real golf, a ball that strikes a rock or cart path usually takes a hard bounce and can fly well away from the point of impact. The game already has several mechanics that aim for realism, so it’s strange that these surfaces don’t behave more realistically as well.
Overall, I think the game has a solid foundation and some enjoyable mechanics, but the lack of shot-distance feedback, questionable ball physics, and inconsistent course behavior can make rounds feel more frustrating than rewarding. (ORIGINAL REVIEW ENDS HERE) had 4 ⭐️’s but now I’m taking it to a 1 or 2 I’m not sure yet.
Let’s restart. Since I wrote this I’ve still been playing the game and 2 days have gone by. I now realize that this game is in NO way realistic at all, and the developers didn’t even put a lick of effort into making it somewhat realistic at all. Every shot you hit does something you don’t want it to do, whether that’s fly further than you want, roll out more than you want, go too short, go left, or go right.
Something always goes wrong. You can aim right in the center of the fairway and somehow 3 mph of wind will blow your ball 40 yards away from your target. Or you send it down the middle of the fairway and it bounces 30 yards right into the rough even though the fairway is going left. It’s just not making sense. You’d think the more you do something the better you get, but in this case it’s the other way around.
Putting is getting harder, chipping is HORRENDOUS, the rough plays like it’s 3 feet deep, swing mechanics don’t change that much when you’re in the rough. AND sometimes when you’re in the rough in real life the ball flies further than it would from the fairway. Not in this case. Nothing about this game is good honestly, I thought it fun was when I first started playing but the more I play the more I realize this game is not it and needs a TON of work. I’m typing this while in a round right now and I was just 30 yards off the green with my lob wedge. WHY DOES IT TAKE 4 SECONDS TO DO MY BACKSWING?????? HOW DO YOU THINK OF THAT WHEN MAKING THE GAME??? In what world does a backswing of any kind take that long? And let’s add the roll out from a 30 yard shot. I hit the front of the green and rolled off the back. Rarely is that going to happen in real life…. And with your wedges the ball has ZERO spin from any distance. I have every club in the game ALREADY and they’re all horrible. There’s no good club combinations because some short irons go further than the next longest one. another how?
The only thing I enjoy now is when I do actually finish a round I get rewarded for it. That’s literally it. Another thing I’m starting to really like is seeing all the reviews on the game and NOT ONE RESPONSE FROM THE DEVELOPERS. NOT ONE. How the heck is a game supposed to be fun when the makers don’t listen to its players?

I played this game for months and carefully tailored my bag to fit my play style. I have returned to the game after a break only to have my username and golf clubs and the tickets I had purchased just disappear with no wya to get them back. How can apple recognize that I joined back in but none of my gear stays. They even kept track of all the stats and level on the account I had just nothing else.

The free app was a lot of fun but had too many long form, interactive ads every other hole. I thought the $9 was steep but worth it so my kids didn’t have to watch ads and could just play. I also thought I’d get more for $9. But even after paying, the app still finds ways to charge more! I paid to have the opportunity to pay even more for more parts of the game. There is still gold required that you pay real money for to unlock more in the game, and there’s a pass you pay for to unlock even more. Want another chance at a challenge? pay. Want to keep your streak? Pay. It’s like a glorified freemium game, and I feel like a real sucker for paying $9 when I thought I’d have access to way more. A $2 no ads option is more appropriate for the amount that’s still behind a pay wall or grind. The base, single player game is definitely not worth $9 for no ads. Each course is great, but there’s only 6 holes, and you really have to grind them to unlock tickets, which open up tournaments, where you have to place top 3 to get a chest. And if you want a good chest, you need to grind for the tickets, then play 3 rounds in hopes you get to 3. 6 holes, over, and over, and over, and over, and over….Come on, at least give us 9 and work to get 18! Not worth $9 atm. Maybe worth free but not for all the crazy long ads.
