This should’ve been made clear before I wasted my time installing the app. It only said “in-app purchases “ which is NOT the same thing. I would get it if you wanted to charge for premium content but this is a charge to view ALL content. Bait & switch tactics are despicable business practices and I’ll be deleting this app immediately.

Classic bait and switch. You can download the free app, but you can’t actually get to the recipes without subscribing and paying.

Too expensive
The price is too expensive, are there any discounts?
Impossible to get in
You force people to register, which I already object to, then when I try three different ways to do so, you won’t let me into the app. Every time I though I was logged in, I went back to the app and it wanted me to register again. Useless.
Not working at all
App redirects me to webpage to log in or sign in, webpage says there is an error and redirects me back to the app, which again prompts me to sign in. I tried updating and re installing. I will use a different app.

I had a ton of purchased recipes for the older version of this app, but it’s all gone with no way to get it back. Restore purchases crashes the app. There’s no content in my account on the website, and no one to contact about this. App is now completely useless for me.

BBC Taking Advantage during a Pandemic
Excellent app and recipes. What a shame that the BBC seeks to charge up to £60 / year for this app … License Fee obvious isn't enough. The BBC Charter is up soon hopefully UK Government will be taking notice of charges like this during a Pandemic when folk are forced to limit contact and cooking has been one of good things we have had.

Recipes disappearing
I log in to my good food app everyday. Today I open the app and a lot of the recipes I had carefully saved over the years have disappeared. I have whole empty folders now. This isn’t the first time this has happened. So frustrating!! But at least it’s a memory test for me to remember what I had and add them again 😣

BBC Essentially Takes Back Purchased Issues
I have never heard of another publisher unilaterally denying access to old issues if you don’t renew a current subscription. Next thing will be knocking on doors and demanding paper copies back. A very sad money grab directed at digital subscribers. Unreliable and to be avoided.

There is no way to backup neither the cookbooks nor the videos to the computer. If you upgrade iPad or the app, you have to download the cookbooks and the videos all over again.
There is no direct printing from the app.
The best solution is to take a screenshot and print the screenshot.

Defective App
There is something wrong with the app. I am using it on my iPad and I can't access the recipes. Whatever recipe I click on it brings me to the one pan breakfast recipe! I tried deleting and re-downloading the app but then I lost the cookbooks I bought and the only recipe that would come up is still the one pan breakfast :(

Stop fooling people. It's not a free app, it's just a shell for buying cookbooks. Totally useless.

Sorry guys, but the app looked promising! Stick to the website for the great recipes, here they want to empty your pocket before you can even start cooking! Taking the app off, so not worth it

After the last update, none of the cookbooks are opening. Th app just forces close. Frustrating! Please fix
Missing critical information
Trying to follow a recipe with ingredients like 1 olive oil or red curry paste doesn't really help. See Easy Thai Prawn Curry for example. Using iPad version
The new update ruined the usability of the app
The new update from early October rendered one my favorite apps nearly useless. You need to log in every time you open the app, and the app now takes you to the website which makes it difficult to use on the phone due to incessant pop ups. It’s very difficult to search for recipes on the webpage. Worst of all, you no longer are able to save favorite recipes in self-made lists.
The app needs to go back to the previous version, where recipes are located simply in the app, not taking the user online. Developers need to make the search functioning more user friendly, and allow for users to save recipes to groups.

Can’t sign up
It says will send a confirmation email to finish signing up. Yet none arrive not in junk either. No button to resend. I guess I delete the app.
Disappointing
UPDATED: Recipe books are suddenly deleted and replaced with paid for versions that you have to download and then won't even open in the new update. Even more disappointing.

However, the number of recipes is extremely limited and you seem to have to download "cookbooks" in order to expand the selection. It would be nice if this connected the great app features with the existing website, which has many, many recipes without having to select cookbooks.
