Update needed for location
When adding location to a calendar event, my phone freezes and the app stops working. Then, I must restart the app. This happens when creating a new event, then adding a location to it. If I modify an existing event to add a location, the app does not crash.
Please fix this, as this has been the case for 5+ months now at least.

Updated my app and all of my calendars are gone except got birthdays. How do I get them back?
Keeps getting worse
A birthday button? Seriously? Those are already in my Google contacts. I will never press that button and it only is registered as an accidental press. Such a waste of screen space.
It’s changed!
I loved Google calendar because I loved the event illustrations! It made it visually pleasing! Now most of those don’t appear on the iPhone, iPad or MacBook! So frustrating and so disappointing! Why change it? Looking for something better now!
No more syncing?
The app hasn’t synced automatically for months. I’ve reported it and got no change or response. There should be a button for us to be able to manually do it just like Android has.. However, we shouldn’t have to. It should automatically sync. It did before, so what happened?
Icon is misleading and dumb
Why does the icon always say “31”? That’s such a stupid design decision. The icon should have the number of the current date!

I had this app on my phone for several years but wasn’t using it. I decided to start and I put in a few dates of being out of town and some birthdays. A couple weeks later I got 5 notifications, all in 1 day, of subscriptions being auto renewed for all kinds of products and it was all entered in certain days on my Google Calendar. I did not enter them and had never used or had any of the subscriptions. I’ve never experienced anything like that so I immediately deleted the app.

When is this getting fixed? 4th request…You guys fixed the tap to call, but tap to text is still missing. Phone numbers use to be underlined in blue for that function and now it’s gone. Please fix. You have been saying you’re working on it for the past 2 months. Going on 3 months.
Another app
I don’t use a calendar. I use the Google notes app to set reminders. Now I have to download yet another app in the Google system just for those reminders to notify me, a bad recent changes

I’ve been using Google Calendar on iPhone for years, and the editing bugs are unacceptable at this point.
Events frequently refuse to update. I’ll open an event, manually change the date or time, hit save, and the change simply doesn’t stick. The event either reverts back to the old time or never updates at all. This happens with basic edits-not just dragging events around.
This isn’t a rare glitch. It happens regularly, and it’s been happening for years. When you rely on a calendar professionally, having edits fail silently is a serious problem. It creates scheduling errors and destroys trust in the app.
For a core productivity tool from Google, this kind of reliability issue shouldn’t persist across multiple app versions and iOS updates. Editing an event is the most fundamental function of a calendar, and right now it’s unreliable.
Please fix the event-editing and sync reliability in the iOS app. A calendar that can’t reliably save changes isn’t just frustrating-it’s unusable.

After all these years, this app is still too stupid to handle Daylight Savings Time correctly.

Stop changing my end time just because I change my start time. That awful UX is absolutely infuriating.

You literally cannot simply open up the calendar and paste a URL to a calendar and have Google Calendar incorporate the calendar into your calendar! Zero stars!!!

Birthdays from Apple Contacts Not Working
Been hoping this gets fixed for a while now. Still an on going issue. Went through various forms on google and Apple to diagnose and resolve the issue. Nothing appears to work. Something to do with their update for permissions in “Germany” I think it was? Regardless, billion dollar company can’t even fix the calendar in a reasonable timeframe….go figure

My notifications aren’t appearing on my iPhone despite them being on. This has been a recurring issue and it’s really inconvenient. FIX THIS.
Freezes when entering location
This would be a great app if it didn’t freeze every time you try to enter an address after tapping location. Oddly enough, when you close it out and reopen it and try to create the event again it works the second time. And background app refresh is enabled.
Glitchy bug that is driving me insane
I used to love google calendar but I have been wanting to switch to another service because I don’t wish to support Google as a company anymore, and I may have reached the tipping point. EVERY time I try to add a location to my calendar event, the app freezes. Every time, without fail. I have to close the app and open it again and it never even saves my event. So ridiculous. Can’t even perform a basic function. I wanted to move to another service eventually anyway so this is the sign. 👋🏻

I really like using this calendar, but i’ve been running into a frequent issue. Occasionally, when I add an event, it ends up disappearing, like it was never saved. This becomes a big problem when I’m relying on it for important things. For example, I added an interview to my calendar a week in advance. It showed up at first, but when I checked two days before, it was completely gone. I could have missed this interview if I hadn’t double checked. I’d love to keep using this calendar, but this glitch makes it hard to trust that my events are actually being saved.
The app icon needs to update to current date!
Why we are in 2026 and the app icon doesn’t automatically update to the current date, for one of the largest most technologically advanced companies in the world, is truly a mystery. I have to use Google Calendar for work, but hate it compared to Apple Calendar, solely because the app icon doesn’t update to the current date. Very frustrating and, to me, it seems like something that should be simple to implement that everyone would enjoy, unless you prefer pretending that the date is perpetually the 31st.
Can’t delete anything
I can’t delete any events or tasks. The delete button is present, but as soon as I press it, the menu disappears and my event is still there.

This could be a good app, but it got messed up by geeky ideas with too many useless “good intentions”. Simplify it!
Recurring shenanigans
Unclear why I cannot schedule in the app recurring meetings on some days of the week (ex: Mondays and Wednesdays). Also it is not clear why a simple app like this should be 200Mb+
Regression
Recent update broke text selection in event descriptions. You can no longer copy just a phone number or address - only the entire block.
This is a huge step backward for anyone using this for work. Please restore normal text selection.

Lacks features common on windows version
Unfortunately, this iOS app is missing many features available on my windows version. One example is that I cannot find a way to copy to multiple calendars which is easy in windows. I was hoping for a better experience and like Apple’s calendar app, it is not as good as it easily could be.
It was better for IOS
They made a change and now we can’t copy selective text on the notes. It worked well for us before and now it is inefficient. Phone numbers and emails we use a lot and I just want to copy and paste only one at a time! Also, when you tap a phone number it no longer gives the option to text message. Only give you call option! Why change it? It was working great before!
Tasks unable to change from 30 minute duration
The desktop version of Google Calendar is capable of making tasks of a range of start and end times, just like events. Please mirror this functionality in the mobile app!
Reason for these two stars
I really do like this app, but since I started using an iPhone the app seems to delete everything I put on the calendar every month so I have to keep putting the information back onto the app every cotton picking month I don’t know if it’s an update issue or whatever it is I’d like the old update back
Always Glitches
It’s always so frustrating when one goes to add a new event on the calendar, and when trying to add a location, the whole app freezes. I have to close the app entirely and try again, after having already added all of the details before then. Maybe have a draft feature to work around this, or… FIX THE GLITCH. This has been going on for years, so it’s not a recent issue but a persistent one.

I’m super ocd and love how ical uses the current date as the icon. Please do this for quick glance ease.
Jumping cursor
Jumping cursor issue: cursor moves to end of text block after typing one letter while editing an existing calendar entry. Known issue for years and I’ve had enough. Going back to apple calendar. Disappointing.

You just can’t add an address when you add the appointment into the calendar. The app freezes requiring a shutdown of the app. What happened?
Edit don’t take since iOS update
I try to edit the timezone or the reminders on a calendar event in iPhone with iOS 26.2 and they just don’t take - I have to create a completely new event now. Such a pain.
