I enjoyed this app when it allowed me to view the outside of my home and unwanted guests. Now, i no longer have access to a day full of recording, just in real time, because they want you to pay! For a doorbell! It’s ridiculous. I will never pay for that kind of access. Google is already showing me that I am not safe with those products
Not Recording like it should
I don’t know what’s going on if there’s a glitch with the app, but it used to record everything now it only records segments
Garbage
Bought an expensive google TV, yet it won’t even let me download simple apps like Hulu and Peacock. Don’t recommend buying, complicated and annoying.

ADT is terrible and if I could give it zero stars I would. It never works, it takes forever to show footage of recordings and my doorbell doesn’t even pick up half of what’s right in front of it.

Was ok but now notsomuch
Used to be somewhat intuitive but never well designed. Now I can’t figure out how to change what used to be called Routines but is now apparently called Automations. Schedules don’t show up anywhere for lights and nothing seems to be working in that department. UI matters. This sucks.

Previewing push notifications rarely works. But when you launch the home app it takes 10-15 seconds for the cams to show

Lags even on the best phone money can buy!
This app is great if you have 1 or 2 cameras but anything more than that and it struggles to handle replays. Clunky and shuts down by itself. Hard to use because of the lag and not smooth even on a 17 Pro Max.

So many years in and so sad Google bought Nest. it's a total maze in their app. Nest was so crisp and clear and opened up into the cameras. Use anything but Google Home!!!

None of Google Home stuff works
Really tired of going through login/pw that are correct, but “something went wrong.” Your stuff just doesn’t work, or requires some convoluted thing no one can figure out.
Can’t reconnect
It’s not easy reconnecting the google nest camera. Scanning the QR code and using code assigned to the nest does not work. My camera is useless for the amount I paid for it. The Wyze & Vico cameras reconnect easy. Why would the codes & QR code not work using them? Spent month trying with no results. Originally connecting was no issue.
Best thermostat boxes
The box doesn’t tell you what version of nest it is. E or Exyz not helpful when linking Google home to Nest. Follow real people through your UI experience is horrible.
Junk, Nest alone was better
It was fine until they had to add Gemini AI and are claiming that my package units have had 16 recent losses of power. They in fact have not AND you can’t access activities anymore because the app is too busy crashing. The only thing AI is good for on this app is to misinform unfortunate people who don’t know about their heating/cooling systems. I also forgot to mention, that at the time of my review, I had already verified that my phone and the app was up to date. I also followed all of their recommendations as to uninstall the app and reinstall it and clear the cache.

Never Finds My TV
I have tried so many times to get this app to connect to my Sony Bravia Google TV. It will never connect. I even tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, but now it won’t even find the TV at all. It’s on the same Wi-Fi network as my TV. I just give up with this app. I’ve tried so many times.

I upgraded to ATT. Now none of my devices will connect. I followed the instructions. It just won’t connect. Reset. Restart. I paid for the year subscription. Waste of money. Just avoid all google products

I have bought 2 Google Nest Audio speakers and neither one will connect to my Google Home

- in the type in setup code section you silently ignore the letter O? incredible work. user types wrong code and has no idea why.
- setup code no longer works. Qr code screen -> let me type setup instead -> continue button on setup screen goes back to qr screen. Theres nothing i can do. i cannot connect my nest point because your screens are bugged.
- infinite setup code. type and hit continue, type hit continue, type hit continue

Stressful and stupid
I’m just trying to change the screensaver on my “smart” tv. I gave up on trying to find a work around and downloaded the app; it does not work. It won’t connect and I have to fill out all of this information just for it to try to connect to a completely different tv! But apparently I need an app on a separate device just so I don’t have to look at ai slop anytime I pause my shows. I’m sorry if you unfortunately have to download this useless app.

I added my Nest to the nest app and went through the setup only to be told I needed to use the Google Home app. I got the Nest working on Google home and within a few hours the Nest was gone from the app. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps and the AI has 0 recollection that the Nest ever existed.
God-awful!!!!!
How can such a mega-company have such an absolutely worthless app?! No, a twenty second video should not take minutes to be able to view. It’s a security camera. I need to be able to view events immediately as they happen, and not be told “this may take a few minutes, please check back later.” Not to mention the Live video endlessly loading and viewing past events completely freezing the app. The bare minimum camera features should work, especially for the ridiculous cost of the monthly subscription.
Not connecting apps to Google home
Spotify account was connected for years and all of a sudden it just stopped showing up in my linked apps. I’ve unlinked and relinked giving Google all the permissions. The Google home still doesn’t link to my premium account forcing me to listen to ads
Hot Garbage For Security
I bought into the Nest ecosystem for security cameras. They worked well.
Then Google acquired Nest. Their servers slowed down and new products started getting launched that required different apps, functionality got removed, new functionality would get gated behind buying new devices when off device processing would work just as well on old devices.
Then there was the forced shift to Google Home, with initially wildly less functionality than the Nest app.
Even that would be survivable if it actually worked even a tiny bit.
I have two “homes” with ten cameras each. There is a 75% chance the app will crash before I even get off the favorites screen and get to the camera feed. Once I do get to the camera feed, there is a 90% chance that it will crash before I get to the time period I want to review.
I know gamification is a terrible trend in tech. But constantly reopening an app, praying this is the one time in 40 it will run long enough to see what your security cameras caught, isn’t a fun game.
Seriously, Google. Actually test your junk.

Gemini integration has a 100% an absolute failure.
The AI has zero clue what you are asking for. “Turn on the backyard lights for 10mins.” Gemini sets a TIMER for 10mins. Not actually turning on the lights and especially NOT turning them down off.
This is a constant battle. I will be getting rid of it after many years.

Terrible app
Bring back the Nest app this app is terrible, trying to view in real time is impossible and when I get a notification all it ever tells me when I try to view it is that camera is unavailable 🙄

The worst mistake you’ll make
It’s like being held hostage. I connected my thermostat to this app, now I have no control over my A/C. Google decides you’re going to be eco friendly and lets the house get up to 85 degrees. Good luck trying to adjust anything in the settings. It will update automatically, reset you to default settings and boot you out of the app.

Loads very slow
Loads very slow and says can’t load or on power save mode.
Eco setting annoying
I’m home all day long when this eco setting regularly kicks on and tries to raise the a/c to 80 degrees. Not suitable for hot flashes or anyone who runs hot.

System is super needy. Asking for feedback way too often.
