No, I do not want to pay for a subscription. I just want to move media from the camera to my Photos app.
To do this is absurdly and unnecessary painful with GoPro Quik - you have to drop WiFi to connect to the camera, then copy massive files to your phone. Then duplicate all of the files slowly to export them to your photo library. Finally you can delete them from the Quik app… but it might just keep using storage for no reason. I have to delete the app periodically to clean up 20GB of space.
The whole time, the app tries really hard to sell you their subscription - which includes nice stuff like giving the camera features (like WiFi upload) that it already supports, but is locked to their software.

Also, any GoPro if it does work, will constantly ask to update, subscribe to the cloud and update the time and date manually and you can’t skip the step. Just want to take a 5 second video? Be prepared to spend 5 minutes doing busy work on your camera for me reason. I threw my hero 13 camera in the garage, it’s not worth the hassle.
GoPro is one of the least consumer oriented companies in existence and they only survive by selling services that you wouldn’t need if their product worked.

So small preview
This message is for the product manager of the Quik app.
What have you done to the app? Now the preview size is so small that it’s difficult to use it for my golf swing analysis. Yes, you can click on the view to have a fuller view, but there is no record button to record my swing. I wish there is an option to go back to the older version of the app!

Won’t even update the Hero13
Won’t even update the Hero13 when connected to my phone and I’m on my WiFi. I don’t care if I can just download the update on the sd card and put it in. It’s unnecessary and creates frustration to the consumer. It’s 2026 and you think a device should be able to connect to something as simple as WiFi to update.
This does not work on a iPad
My GoPro HERO will not reboot it just doesn’t work
Impossible to cancel
This app subscription hasn’t been showing up in the Apple Subscription section. Going to their website or attempting to delete the account has been impossible. I have being charged over a year at $5.99 a month trying to resolve it.

The ui used to be better, round shapes. Now everything is blocky and chunky. The worst of all, in preview mode when taping the screen it was still full screen and showed or hid the controls. Now it shrinks the preview so it’s not full screen and the controls look terrible. Everyone at work who uses this app has all complained about it. And all the unwanted subscriptions are getting very annoying. NOBODY WANTS THEM.

Identifying videos
It would be extremely helpful to add a feature to name videos. It is extremely difficult when you have multiple videos to identify what is what and once edited you can’t keep them straight without naming them. This is frustrating and time consuming. Otherwise, it’s getting better

Give me a desktop app
You really need a desktop app. I really hate the fact that in order for me to be able to use my GoPro 360. I have to do this in multiple steps. I have to film on the camera then I have to dump the footage onto my iPad then I have to take that footage edit on my iPad then I have to go onto my iPhone. Download it on my iPhone because my iPad doesn’t have enough storage then I have to send it to my MacBook from my iPhone to be able to add it to my storyboard. Why not just have a desktop app like everybody else does
Piece of garbage
Don’t bother downloading, you’re better off returning your camera for a refund. The app keeps adding “highlights” to videos and they’re annoying, and you can’t get rid of them. Reached out to go pro, the steps they said to take don’t do anything but make the problem worse. Plus every single time you want to connect to your camera, you have to unpair the camera, reset both phone and GoPro settings, then repair. Every. Single. Time. The app is glitchy as hell and I’m surprised anyone would rate this garbage product higher than 1 star.

Worse app ever
I’ve downloaded this app and have been messing with it for hours now. I trimmed videos in my phone and uploaded them to the app which the app then put them back to the original video.. no big deal right. Why not trim it in app. Well I did. Then it says save as a new video, it keep the old video that you just trimmed and does whatever else with the trimmed video. Not to mention all of the music sucks for highlights. Nothing bass hitting or hard, all fruity nature trail walk type of music. Definitely getting a refund

Glitchy AF
Super slow downloading (even on wired connection), they keep asking me to subscribe to premium even though I already am & “restore purchases” just results in an endless circle. Support request will not submit. Save your money and find a different editing software.

Slow upload speed regardless of internet connection. Choppy cuts between clips.
Not Supported
This app is no longer supported by GoPro, and does not allow you to set up the camera wirelessly. You need the phone app to do that, and it seems GoPro has decided to NOT make their iOS app available to run on macOS.

Super Lag
Cutting 45 seconds out of a 7 minute clip took 6 minutes.
The app is slow, laggy, glitchy, non-intuitive, and the connection drops from the device constantly.
No wonder I edit once every 3 years.

Tech very unfriendly
Seems like nothing is doing what it’s supposed to do. Very frustrating to get media to my phone, and other things like just opening the app and staying logged in.
Horrible loading times.
Basically forced me to get the plus version of the app because it wouldn’t stop giving me the “must free up 300 mb space” error when I try to download media to the app. Then it takes HOURS to download my media and even once it’s downloaded everything takes a couple minutes to load when I try to view or edit. Oh yeah and half my videos freeze about a second in while the audio continues. Absolutely horrible experience

Since a recent update I can no longer stream to facebook via the app
Missing features
The app can not support the telematics and gps data recorded with the max2. This camera is too expensive to not be able to use all of its features with the proprietary software. This needs to be fixed
Frustrating
Weird how some 360 videos don’t have stabilization unless you download them. If you trim a video that has stabilization, the trimmed video might not have it and there doesn’t seem to be a way to fix it. I’ve been dealing with GoPro support, and have tried all their recommendations, but still doesn’t work. It’s a great idea, but unreliable and frustrating. They need to update this app ASAP.

Auto update not good, deleted all the paired cameras now I have to repair all of them, not good when you need to download videos for multiple cameras before the next skydive
Slow connection
When it finally connects to download to the app it takes forever, but also if you don’t keep it from locked it will stop the download.

The app is a complete joke. Cloud upload will NEVER WORK. paying for the premium plan is not worth it unless you do the special deal of one time payment 39 for the year just to try it out but I’ll save you that 40 bucks by telling you they’re editing features all can be found on free apps, such as CapCut and even in iOS native photos editing. There is nothing but frustration offered with the GoPro app. Their support will gaslight you all day about your internet being the problem as to why the upload/download speeds suck a pickle. I had a GoPro hero three silver back in the day and it sucked then and now that I have the 13 it ain’t much different.
