Why it is 2 stars
It could not identify my plant and gave me random answers and then I could not change what is was AND there is just bots to " be friends with" and in all is just not a great app to download so save the time and DONT get it.The only thing that was good was that I could set reminders to water my plant at least I thought but turns out that we need to pay like 20$ a month for "V.I.P" stuff and the real reason it is a 2 and not a 1 is because there is like one good thing.

Not user friendly - and I’m a young millennial
I had high hopes for this app as it came highly recommended. The thing is, I find it so difficult to maneuver as the platform is not user friendly. Perhaps I need more straight forward information and to click on items I need right away rather than click click click to get to where I need as I have to on Greg. I’m tech savvy as a young millennial and that’s saying something about this app. I don’t want to dig around, for things I need like a watering schedule or identify plant and care instructions. I’ll pass on this app.

I went to open my app and see what plants need watering and it was completely empty!
Garbage
Scan all your plants, then find out that reminders are a paid feature. Trash app. Misleading.
Good app but they lied about everything.
When I got this app I was under the impression that it was a free app. However as soon as I got into it and started to use it I realized that I had to pay for everything that was advertised to me as free.Just under the title it says Identity,Diagnose & Reminders and the app is advertised as free but you have to pay for diagnose and reminders .The app worked just fine for identifying plants but if you want anything else this is not the app to get at all.

I don’t necessarily want to login using apple or SMS but it makes me choose those options. I would love it if you could just login with email instead.
Ai and plant ID never foolproof
I have 100’s if not thousands of succulents and when I started inputting them it got the majority of them wrong. Just like most AI identifiers it cannot recognize the vast plethora of varieties and hybrids that are present in the succulent theater. Would not recommend for accurate ID. I cannot attest to the other features but I suspect the watering calculator to be faulty as well. I recommend not purchasing until you are aware of usefulness.
Everything costs money there is not a free option to use the app
I got my plant and it had a QR code to this app saying free plant care but there is a pay wall for everything

They advertise as an app to remind you to water your plants but does not advertise that even sending an reminder ONCE is money???
Started fine now they just want money

I’m glad I canceled while I had a free subscription. It ID’d 9 out of 10 plants incorrectly. It was so far off the mark. the only plant it got correct , it got the second time.

I loved the app until a couple months into my year long subscription. It just stopped working like I don’t have the subscription anymore. I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading, restoring, reaching out for tech-support, but found none and so it is a waste of $30! Unless I hear back and take down this review, absolutely do not waste money on this app!!!.
Problems with the app
I have been using it for my second year, and it suddenly stopped working. It took me out and doesn’t let me get in. It doesn’t recognize my ID and password
Inconsistent watering schedule
What’s going on with the watering schedule the last couple times I was told to water my cactus only 2 days apart. I’m no expert but I do know the watering a cactus that frequently is overwatering fix the issue you are going to cause people to lose their plants instead of helping them grow

Advice immediately almost killed my plant
I’m new to gardening so I look up the suggested watering time for my flowers. “Every 8 days? Okay… I guess I’ve been watering it too often”, I took the advice and 2 HOURS later? DROOPING.
Also EVERYTHING is behind a paywall, it’s easier to say what you do have

App Crashes
Unfortunately this app is not usable and constantly crashes. Bummer I was excited to try it out
Half the app does not work
If I could give this zero stars I would. Good concept, but half the links within the app do not work even as a super user. This app is just not ready yet.

After taking pictures of my plants, the app tells me to finish setting up personalized info for each, but when I tap on the plants nothing happens. When I try to tap on Tutorials, nothing happens. When I try to tap on Help and Support, you guessed it, nothing happens. Logged out and back in, same problem. Complete waste of money. Do not buy. Absolute garbage app.
terrible service
This is an actual health plant site. I don’t need to be told when to water and the site had me giving to much water. They made it sound like a site that help you identify a problem
Couldn’t identify my plants
I have several plants that were previously identified but this app would was never close. Lowe’s and OASIS recommends them but you can’t scan the QR code into the app to store.

This app has false information in the ad. You have to pay extra for what is shown in the ad to be included

I thought it was helpful based on some Google search results, and I wanted to keep the app’s information handy on my phone. Then they required me to pick a paid plan before advancing and finishing my account. Later I found out it is AI based

7/6/25 - Update - it’s been over a month since I deleted the app and the plants I’ve had for YEARS are still in bad shape and haven’t recovered from the overwatering suggested by this app. I’ve never been so disappointed in an app before! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I entered every detail for each of my plants and followed the watering instructions and all my plants are overwatered and turning yellow. I’ve had these plants for 6+ years without issue and just wanted a reminder to water them on time.
I also wanted to ensure I was giving the right amount of water. I even reduced the amount of water for each plant that the app suggested. I typically used 1/4 cup for my chinese evergreen and the app suggested 1 1/4 cup. I even hit the snooze button because my soil was too damp and my ever green has more limp yellow leaves than green. It’s not worth the $30 annual fee.

I have taken two pictures of my mulberry tree and both times you get it wrong this used to be a good app but now it’s just stupid

It does not identify correctly and does nothing else but notifies for watering. I’m sure there are better plant apps. I was charged for the app without any notice. Very disappointed!! Scam!!
WHaT!?
First of all, it was confusing, as they didn’t explain and just brought you to the “pay to use” screen, asking you to pay. Luckily I found out how to get out of that.
Second, their plant recognition is really bad. I scanned a plant and I knew it was a pineapple plant, but they said something extremely different. And on top of that, i scanned it 2 times and it said different things for the same plant!!!

Misidentification of plants
I NEVER write reviews and maybe it’s just me but every plant but 2 were misidentified. I have over 30 😐 actually very frustrating since it’s being advertised all over as an amazing plant app. Super expensive plans too, way overpriced for not actually working.
Switch to “Picture This” app
“Picture This” is more user friendly to navigate the site, identifies health of plants, has more accurate plant identification, more in-depth information. Not perfect, but darn close - and only $30/year.
Doesn’t track correctly
I use this app to remind me to water my plants…except it doesn’t always log my water entries so the schedule isn’t correct. I’ll log that I watered a plant on May 25th, let’s say…then when I look back at the app a week later, it says the last watering was may 11th. It didn’t record the log at all! I have a bunch of plants so I can’t keep them all straight in my head. That’s literally all I was using Greg for. I will not be renewing.
