Not worth it

Money app

7-day free trial is a scam!!!
I paid for the 7 day free trial and after 48 hours decided the recipes were NOT practical and therefore not for me so I cancelled my subscription but Gronda refused to refund my money. So warning they do not honor their 7 day free trial!!
Could be the least responsive app ever
My son gave me an upgrade toPRO for Christmas. I had downloaded the app over a year ago but never used it because every recipe seemed to be beyond a pay wall. To use the gift certificate i need my pw, which I forgot. The reset says they will send you an email. I’ve tried ten times on four diff devices and yet to get an email. Tried contacting on insta and recd no response. Got an email asking to set up a time to talk about the App. Never received a call. This seems like a grift.
Bad experience
My minor child accidentally purchased a subscription while using my phone, without my authorization. I immediately canceled and contacted support, but the refund was denied despite this being a clear case of an unauthorized purchase by a child.
For an app that allows subscriptions to be purchased so easily, there should be better safeguards or more reasonable handling of situations involving minors. Parents shouldn’t be penalized for accidental purchases made by children.
Very disappointing experience.

Terrible app
Be careful to cancel before they charge you $99. You can find much better recipes on YouTube for free.
For example, look at their tiramisu recipes-every single one looks terrible. Italians would scream if they saw how these so-called “chefs” make it: flat savoiardi, soggy from being dipped in coffee for far too long.
I’m just a home cook but I can do better than that.
This app is a scam and they didn’t want to refund the 99$ they charged me.

No thank you
Would be nice to know that it’s a paid app before I signed up and there is no way to bypass the “free trial” if I want to delete my account now. Free trial message doesn’t specify how long the trial is.. urgh
No cargan los videos, no carga la APP!!!!!!
No puede ser que trate de ver un video hace una hora. Tengo señal 5G completa y no carga! Malisimo. La app va muy lento
SCAM!!!!!!
I did not even have this app in my phone and it charged me $100. I am currently getting this disputed, be very cautious with this app/company THEY WILL TAKE MONEY STRAIGHT OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION OR CONSENT .
Don’t waste your money
There are many grammatical errors & typos. Many of the recipes have incomplete instructions. Not being a professional chef I don’t understand some of the terminology & is not explained. Disappointing.
Money maker
You can not use this up without a paid subscription. There are literally under 10 free recipes
Not really a free app.
This app has basically no content available without a $100 per year subscription. If you are going to charge that much to make the app useable, don’t list it as a free app with in app purchases.
Scam developer
I cancelled within my trial period. They charged me. Apple reached out to them to resolve, and they denied the refund. Trash app, scam dev. Going to charge back and they can deal with the fallout.
No Trial
After agreeing to do a 7 day trial, they immediately charged me $100 without the trial, not only did I not want to spend $100 on this app, its so no worth it, the recipes are awful.
Pointlessly expensive
There’s no reason to pay $100 for this app when you can just join some Reddit groups (r/culinaryplating for one). Cash grab taking advantage of an already unappreciated and abused culture.
refund of money
I wanted to know the app and I accessed the free days and it charged me 100 dollars without prior notice, I would like my money back
Basically useless
Almost all of the content is restricted to Pro. Anything you do find that isn’t Pro, you click on it and you can’t even see the recipe. Furthermore, when you first download the app, they try to guide you through signing up for a free trial of Pro which will charge you 99 dollars after a week, and they try to obfuscate how to opt out of that, no simple option provided. So that’s a shady way to treat people. Overall I am not seeing anything about this app that would make me want to sign up for pro, as I can only assume there won’t be any recipes visible there either.
Immediately deleted it
Nowhere anywhere does it tell you anything about the cost until AFTER you download and install. Apple needs to do better. If a developer is confident in its product then put the cost upfront instead of being shady and wait until after it’s been installed.
Terrible
First of all, they will give you a free 7 day trial. They will tell you they will remind you on day 5 that they will charge you $99 in two days. They will not remind you. They will just charge you $99 on day 7.
Everything is measured in grams with no way to convert.
Classes are not in English. It is difficult to read the subtitles and watch what the chef is doing.
Waste of $99 I didn’t even want to spend.

Terrible execution of a wonderful concept
To start of when I singed up for the 7 day free trail I was charged 12 dollars so that already screams scummy scam cash grab.
Secondly there is absolutely no quality control over the content put into this app. Some of the recipes are vague and unclear and force you to assume that your supposed to do things in between the listed steps. A lot of the people posting on the app look like good chefs that can’t write recipes to save their life. It feels like im reading a recipe that you would find scribbled into a notebook only meant to be read by the person who wrote it.
Not only that but some recipes are in metric some are in imperial some are in other languages. I shouldn’t have to manually translate recipes that I’m paying a subscription fee to have access too. this app need a lot of work and until then the rest of the internet has a lot of free content that teaches you how to do literally all of this stuff.
Thanks Gronda but no thanks.

Unusable w/ accessibility on
With zoomed text and other adaptability settings active, I am unable to functionally navigate the app because many of the tapable elements are shoving themselves behind the time in the area next to the notch or ignoring text size adjustments. Idc where this app is from, in the United States your app needs to comply with the ADA. I can't even check it out to see if I'd be interested in a subscription. I can't freaking tap on anything. 😡
Edit: suddenly started sending me job offer pushes??? This app seems like a scam don't download it.

Never got access after I paid the yearly subscription!
I have contacted them repeatedly and all I get back is a generic e mail saying I signed up with the apple id but I log in and all they show me is my info and the amount paid but no link to the recipes or an index or something!! Just shows you a few recipes for free and then it tells you to go on the 7 day free trial am I supposed to pay AGAIN after 7 days????
Great concept, awful execution
Gronda on paper looks amazing. Masterclasses from renowned chefs on recipes, techniques, an concepts. Discussions about flavor and different ways to prepare the same ingredient. It’s awesome.
Unfortunately, the app is unusable. I am unable to actually enjoy this amazing content because the UI makes it literally impossible. Freezing isn’t a one-off here; it’s the norm. UI elements that should show up (play button, rewind, fast forward) most of the time just don’t. There’s no way to view all lessons in a masterclass to pick up from where I stopped, so I have to start with the introduction and tap the “next lesson” button (if it shows up-most of the time, it doesn’t) several times to get to the video I remember having watched last.
Currently I cannot play a video because there’s no play button. Oh, full screen videos? Don’t even think about that. That feature doesn’t seem to exist.

Recipes are incomplete or incorrect.
Recipes are incomplete or incorrect. While the recipes are creative and inspiring, I lost interest after finding too many of them not complete. For example, I just open the app to see “Passion fruit and Tonka bean salted caramel “ it sounds delicious but the recipe has no tonka bean listed. Just one example of many frustratingly inadequate recipes.
DO NOT WASTE MONEY!!!
I would give it a 0 star if I could
Most of the receptors DO NOT HAVE descriptions or steps. Only the photo you see at the top. Very sad I paid for this APP. Thought it would be a cool app but I’d say 8/10 do not have steps or descriptions.
They should have as a requirement to actually have the recipe ( since it’s a cooking app!!!! )

App Doesn't work...
It worked fine for the first day... After that it just loads a white screen!. Should've read reviews, that's been happening for over a year, I'd like to cancel asap!
Wouldn’t waste $54
The chefs don’t provide any concrete instructions. Seems like it’s vague translations from other languages. Videos are not comprehensive. So far, haven’t been able to see any. Kind of a waste to be completely honest.
I cancelled my free trial before expiry. Then they charged me
Cancelled via app subscription and sent an email to cancel before my week free trial expired. Three hours late, Gronda charged me.
Horrible App
Keeps charging you after you’ve unsubscribed. Very sketchy app be aware.
Waste of money.
I spent $50 for a year membership, thinking that I’d have access to recipes not found on the usual sites. And ideas a bit more unique.
Chefs post their photos of finished dishes, but most of the time, there is NO RECIPE or they’ll list
A few ingredients (no measurements), or they’ll post components (and no recipes for components either). Many times they don’t even describe the dish at all.
I can’t find any contact info. for who to speak to/email to voice a complaint. I don’t even know how to cancel my membership. Ridiculous!

Hijacked keyboard
Can’t get the second page or any other preliminary pages to scroll. Can’t sign in, it keeps crashing. Can’t use my keyboard of choice so I don’t have access to the password saver to save my sign in info. The final sign in page stays half hidden behind the key board and snaps back every time you pull it. One word….frustrating. I tried deleting the app but to no avail nothing changed. Want very much to see the content and apply to my working knowledge but looks like it’s not in the cards.
Waste of time
This is the worst app ever. Most of the things on here don’t even have a recipe for it and the few that do are all in different languages.
No thanks! No recipe: only title and picture for $?!
Each other recipe was just picture with tons of comments from other users asking where are the recipe. Scam.
Deleted free trial. Useless content

Cool ideas, bad user experience
I want to like the app, and as a career chef, I love browsing interesting ideas and techniques. However, the app experience really gets on my nerves. First of all, you can’t avoid the videos autoplaying. I hate autoplay video. It’s takes over whatever you were listening to when you launch the app. Secondly, there’s no way to print or export the recipes in any way. When I want to try a recipe from Gronda, I usually end up writing the recipe by hand. I prefer to import recipes into other apps where I can take notes and refer to them later. Another nitpick is that it’s not very good at searching recipes by ingredient, or technique. It would also be nice to search recipes by equipment, such as thermomix or pacojet. Hopefully the experience improves before my next renewal comes due.
Scam?
Please explain to me why my only option to start the app is the 1 week free trial with 99.99/yr subscription, but your annual subscription cost is only 53$ for Gronda Pro? Good app otherwise outside of poor pricing practice and lack of organization within the app
Good content, if you can access it.
I subscribed to pro, created my account, was exiting to create my recipes library but after after a couple weeks I was logged out of the app and never was able to login because they just can’t find my account; customer support is useless they never provide a solution. I just “donate” $99.99 to the developer.
Why not charge one time for the app??
My issue with apps like these is they want a subscription. And it’s an expensive one at $10 a month. Why not charge $10, $15, or $20 for the app with unlimited use? I’m almost certain you would get more sales that way. Less people are going to want to pay $10 a month than $20 for the app. Jamie Oliver’s app was a great.
Useless without IAP
The app is a good concept. However not a single recipe is accessible without a Pro purchase.
Great idea, poor execution
I was really excited to try the app and it’s annoying how you’re immediately paywalled and forced to commit to a “free” trial where you pay $100 after 1 week. The app is full of bugs and quits constantly. Recipes don’t save, videos don’t load. Overall I don’t think it’s worth paying for. If it was free with ads, I think I would pay to remove the ads but I wouldn’t pay real money for access to recipes when Google exists and most of the recipes you find elsewhere.
The app crash all the time
The app is really impressive in its content. but the app crashes all the time, which makes its use undynamic and stressful. When the app closes abruptly, you can't go back to where you were and you have to go back to search for what you were looking at, obviously there is a high chance that the app will close again. I'm a pro member, and I find this problem quite irritating and frustrating.
Buggy app
When I click on Michelin and certain other categories I get a error message.
Not free
Marketed as free. Costs $100 a year.
Was good
I’ve had this app for about a year use it sometimes.
Was $50 usd for Pro now it’s $99 still charged me $50 at renewal and won’t let me access anything without paying $99. I understand if you need to raise your price but don’t do it like this.

App problems
Love the application content but is impossible to use the app has a glitch that doesn’t let you do nothing keep going down you cannot go to settings or do search etc
