Use any other app
Signed up for GrubHub+, paid $75 for $40 worth of food, paid priority, my order never arrived, I reported it, they re-issued the order, they didn’t refund the priority fee but the new order had 2 orders delivered before mine, an hour and a half after my original order I contacted customer service, couldn’t get past the AI slop chatbot, and then received a text accusing me of lying about the priority order 20 minutes later. Not worth it, use any other app or better yet just don’t use delivery apps they’re all garbage now.
Worst delivery app by far
This app will tell you your order is “out for delivery” for literal hours until you actually check and see that no human ever attempted to get the food and you aren’t eating tonight. I don’t consider the people who run this app human, they are something less than that and do not deserve basic human rights.

Bring back Dark Mode Fix

Please fix the dark mode feature. In 2026 it’s inexcusable not to have dark mode features that work. A toggle would be great in settings so it doesn’t get buffed by trying to adapt to iOS settings or app updates that can throws it off. The $50+ feature no fees is great and should be a permanent feature not tied to premium subscribers.

No condiments no support
Ordered fries, got no ketchup. Turns out Grubhub’s system doesn’t track condiments as part of your order at all, so there’s no way to report it missing or get it made right - straight from their own “AI Assistant.” For a platform that takes a cut of every order and has the tech to track tipping percentages down to the cent, “we don’t track condiments” is a choice, not a limitation. The only reason I got a refund was after I said I’d post reviews here and on Trustpilot. Good service shouldn’t require a threat. Choose a different platform if you actually want a complete order.
Why do you allow ordering from a burger king 20 miles away?
There is one 5 min away and somehow accidentally ordered from one a hour and a half away???
Terrible Service
I have no idea how GrubHub manages to stay in business. I can’t tell you how many times I placed an order only to have it inexplicably cancelled with no reason 30-60 minutes after I place it.
Orders are frequently wrong.
Cold food left at door with zero notification it was delivered.
I have used this service ONLY AS A LAST RESORT when either something I’ve been craving isn’t available on another app or another app is much more expensive. The only positive I can say is that service fees seem to be less.
But I guess you get what you pay for.

Promotions Agonizingly Written
Restaurants lure you in with BOGO options, and once you satisfy what is written to redeem, it still cannot be applied. It is not a comprehension issue on my end, it is an issue with what promotions Grubhub allows incompetent restaurants to run, with an offer that is not coded consistently with the language describing it. It is a huge waste of time compared to Uber Eats to decrypt what is required to satisfy a promotional offer.
long delivery
i don’t think i’ve ever gotten an order on time, it always takes hours. by then the food is cold and not even good to eat. it’s so annoying and all they offer is $5 to make up for it

Why is there no option to let you know there is an issue?! The driver delivered our pizza to the wrong house!!! And there is no way of letting u know without this review,

No delivery
first time I placed an order and they canceled it about an hour and a half in very disappointed. I did just try to re-order so let’s see if this goes well. Was able to get my gift card balance back, but anything that I paid over has not been refunded.
They got rid of dark mode, no options for accessibility
I can’t use the app anymore since it dropped the option for a dark mode. It is not safe for users with certain visual sensitivities. DoorDash and UberEats both still have dark modes and I would recommend using them unless GrubHub re-instates this feature.
Hostile to the customer
This app, like most others, has a dedicated setting for whether to allow promo push notifications. But despite disabling these promo notifications, the app just ignores the user’s wishes and pushes them on you anyway. Horrendous user experience, and gross lack of respect for their paying customers.
Slow and cancelled deliveries
My food is consistently delivered late no matter what time I order it at. I wait over two hours just for a driver to be chosen. Or cancelled. Stupid AI customer service offers me in-app credit when I don’t want to spend more money here. What happened to deliveries happening in 45 mins? Grubhub has went drastically downhill.
Refunds
I ordered a bunch of food and was missing half the order. When I went to get a refund I was only refunded for a bag of chips. Not the other twenty dollars worth of food I ordered but didn’t receive.
DoorDash is better
Tried the app because it had 50% off of 3 orders. Winded up only a being $10 limit and then only lasted for one order.

This app is horrible and they will steal your money I’ve ordered multiple times and for random reasons my order has been keep getting delayed after 45 minutes of not receiving no food and kept getting delayed I’ve decided that I’ve wanted to do a refund which they don’t do and I’ve never got my order and refunds they don’t offer . Horrible app I will never order from this app again !

Wrong order, terrible user interface
Difficult user interface for attempting to resolve wrong orders and request refunds. Entire order was wrong, app only allowed refund for single item, so they have stolen my money.

Tired of this app!!! Everytime I place an order it takes HOURS to deliver and the drivers be stealing my food and they won’t block them from the app!!! Never using this app ever again!!!

Don’t use waste of time if they delay your order due to their driver and waste your time and food quality, they will only offer five dollars and say get screwed.

Stay away from the app
I had no problem ordering through Grubhub on the website. But the company encouraged me through a promotion to use the app, but left out details of my address.. it’s been a nightmare to get them to update it. I feel like I’m dealing with a faulty AI, but the Grubhub reps I talked to swore that they’re actually human. I will not be using the app again, promotion or no promotion.
Tipping before getting food
You should be able to tip AFTER your driver has delivered your food. If it’s late, smaller tip. If it’s cold, smaller tip. It’s BS that you tip ahead of time.
Bring back dark mode???
Why is it light mode now? There isn’t a way to change that in settings. I don’t know why this was even changed, at least make it a setting choice!
The worst place to order food from
The first time I ever ordered from here, I had to contact support because I wasn’t assigned a Grubhub driver and I’ve had to do that every Time I order from Grubhub, I ordered a McFlurry from McDonald’s and I paid for Oreo crumbs and whip Like $.79 extra and I didn’t get my stuff. I tried to contact them to get my refund and it didn’t work. Don’t order off here.

Put dark mode back
Recent update removed dark mode and forced a blindingly white background on users. Absolutely terrible change. The app must have dark mode functionality restored.
No Refund for stolen food
After the driver stole my food. They told me I had to accept the reorder and I couldn’t get a refund but they offered o my a $7…my food was 30 plus. I will never use this app
Takes forever/no real help
Every single time I’ve used them, something has been wrong, and it’s usually that it takes forever. I ordered food 2 hours ago and they’re still trying to find a driver and won’t let me cancel the order bc it’s already active. I ordered from Instacart and it was here in 20 mins. I’ll gladly pay a few extra bucks for hot sausage instead of cold stony sausage. Done with this one, for sure.

I was polite and patient, and even said the driver could keep the tip. Just a refund for the old food that could potentially give me food poisoning. Nope. So I asked for a corporate number. Called. No, Customer Care
My order was more than two hours late. The store ended up closing. I didn’t get my food. It took forever to just get a refund and the only compensation I got was five dollars then $10 and then they changed their mind and said only five dollars and then went back to 10. Thank you Grubhub.
Drivers steal
Grubhub drivers in Chicago steal food all the time and often will accept orders without actually delivering them. I got gh plus with Amazon and it is a waste of time and money every single time.
What happened??
Based on past experiences, my expectation was to have enough good in my order to be a successful experience. They failed
Removed dark mode
I usually don’t write reviews, but removing dark mode makes the app much worse. I get migraines often and use dark mode to help reduce symptoms. It made me nauseous just using the app today due to a migraine. I know that sounds like an exaggeration but when you get migraines or headaches, things like brightness can really make a difference for how it affects your symptoms. I hope the feature gets added back.
Grubhub sucks use a different app
I placed a pickup order at a store listed on Grubhub’s home page, however THE STORE DOESN’T EXIST. after filing many complaints and sending many emails Grubhub REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. $50 for two sandwiches that I never got from a store that doesn’t exist. And they said I wasn’t eligible for a refund. How does that make sense?!

I don’t know why this app will automatically apply tips for “pickup” order, it’s a extremely annoying design.

Disappointing
Every time I use this app my order is either late or gets refunded for non-delivery. If you don’t have drivers in the area, you shouldn’t give an option for delivery or approximate delivery time that just gets further and further away as my lunch break becomes shorter and shorter.
