★★★★★ "abusive subscription. I already pay for The Guardian, and now you’re trying to gouge me for an extra subscription at an abusive price? I’ll likely cancel my Guardian subscription altogether, I don’t give my money to companies that take advantage of me." - zesty exuberance

abusive subscription

Tracking
Any app that tracks your internet activity is not worth downloading.
I’m over subscription everything.
Another app that demands a subscription to use it. It’s a cookbook. It costs $40 to subscribe for a year. I can buy a really nice cookbook for that and own it for life. I can buy the same cookbook at a used bookstore for $5 - $10 and own it for life. The point is that subscription books like this are a rip off and never worth subscribing to. Especially at $40 a year.
No thanks, deleted, heading to my local bookstore now. Byeeeeeee.

Paying for ads
So not only do we have to subscribe for life, we now get ads from Tesco. Thanks but no thanks. Prefer to buy a book of recipes once which I keep for life.
So buggy it's unusable
I was so excited when I saw this on the Guardian website but this app doesn't work at all! It's very slow and stutters just scrolling. When I try to search it shows me the results for a second then takes them away and says, "no results found." Hope this gets fixed!
Disappointed
“Create an account for free” is abusively fake since right after that you realize you can not use the app before you pay!
Free?
The app is free.
If you want to look at ANY recipe in the app it requires a subscription.
I have been a big fan of the Guardian news app for years. Thought I would give this a try.
Calling this FREE is completely misleading.
Do better Guardian.

Disappointed
Opened the app looking for the first time. Searched for a beef stew recipe. The first listing was one made with pork. Nothing listed as beef stew. Already disappointed, as few of the other recipes would be meals I would make.
