Fun Game Terrible Support
Each time I discovered a glitch in the game I’d report it. First support would ask for a detailed analysis and screenshots. Then they would ask for more information and additional photos. Finally they would basically say you’re making this up and request an online recording of the issue. After having this happen several times I just quit reporting things and learned to live with the glitches.
Then I ordered two packages with close to 1k of 60 minute troop speedups. I was attempting to advance my troops from Grade 10 to Grade 11. I used one or two speedups and the rest vanished.
I was ignorant. I contacted support again. And just like the past, no help, just do this and get me that. After 3 attempts I contacted Apple support and had the missing purchases cancelled. Then that woke someone up. They absorbed my monthly subscription of 20$ plus said any purchases in the future would be absorbed. I guess for pain and suffering?
Half the game is advertising and money grabs. Plus the odds of getting the item you want is worse than Mega Millions or Powerball. So instead of answering my inquiries they go ballistic and lose a player who hadn’t missed a day in 4-5 months, $20 monthly subscription plus additional monthly purchases of between $15-$50 (They lose $35-$70 a month or $420-840 yearly).

Run away from this money pit
Gog is a money grab. To play for free is something you can do but it is next to impossible to compete. To be relevant in the game you must spend 10’s of thousands of dollars. They constantly are updating the game with new things which cost money to get them quickly. The number of events that they put out to spend on are numerous every single week. Some events are exclusive to spending such as the dragon event for the tormentor. Plus many times with the new things they introduce such as new weapons or gear etc, they always cancel out the old making all the money you spent on upgrading the previous stuff irrelevant. So if you don’t spend on the newest stuff then you quickly become weak and your money becomes wasted. Before you know it you have invested so much money in this game it sickens you. Trolls are everywhere in this game and they have no problem ruining something that is supposed to be fun. GoG does nothing about trolls or bots people run to cheat and get things without even playing. I honestly wish I would have never downloaded this game as it is a huge financial burden. Be very aware of what you are getting into if you download and decide to play. I do not recommend this game. Run away from this money pit.

It's a pay-to-win game. The game is based on spending money and requires no skill. Spending money is the best way to satisfy your ego. However, it reveals your inadequacy and the self-satisfaction you seek. Don't get involved.

Just another grinding game that is pay-to-win centric. If they had spend the efforts on all those advertisements and pictures that are totally not representative of your gaming experience, it might have been playable.

This game does not control any harassment and/or racist, or unacceptable behavior to include even profile names….Reported multiple issues including an inappropriate user name and this is what their response was….. This game has more software issues then most games. This is a pay to play game that tries to get every penny they can out of you.

Can’t get in for three days and doesn’t appear to be any fix on horizon. Played for two years and now can’t continue for internet connection issues that is negated by several hundred people that I can tell.

This was my favorite game, until all the updates require you to spend more and more, which I can’t! You claim we can get the tormentors yet refuse to tell us how, well unless we spend spend spend. Can’t even find the building we are suppose to build in order to do those blue gems. Stop adding stuff and fix what is already there, ready to quit, and I’ve been playing for the last 8 years as I don’t understand this game anymore
Greed
If I could rate this game 0 stars I would. Customer support is horrible. Game devs claim to be here for the everyday player but is far from the truth. Unless you plan to spend 1000’s of dollars just to be a sub average player. They power rush new gear and guards because that all mighty dollar is all they crave. They could care less about your thoughts and feelings unless you’re one of their top spenders. The worst mistake of my life was playing this game.

Been playing around 7 years. From the beginning you needed big money to compete successfully. Have tried different kingdoms and on my own or in a clan. The result is the same. If you have a few powerful players they will carry you. I have one developed castle and six farms. But you will never be competitive without spending lots of money, and I mean in the thousands. The other cost is time. I moved to a farm clan so I still see some action but not getting zeroed every every event. Best advice, find a clan, stay with one you like the players, and don’t take it seriously. And don’t spend money! You have been warned.

I’ve played this game for 8 years. I started playing when I got cancer and needed something to occupy my mind. It is the same formula as a wide variety of clicks games. Starting in a new kingdom was wild. Getting placed in an alliance. Changing alliances and chasing power. Avoiding bullies is impossible. Many communication issues are created by the translation device. I migrated to a peaceful kingdom with a few big spenders and really enjoyed playing from a position of power. The big spenders left the game due to the war in Ukraine. And we have been relegated to trying for NAP every event. It really takes away from the enjoyment aspect of the game. I’m a C50 with reasonable stats but cannot stand up to the spenders. GOG has done nothing to level the playing field for weaker players. It’s all about money for them. One week you can be on top then they release new levels of equipment and if you don’t spend you are on bottom. The reason I stay on the game are the people I’ve met and made friends with on here. We are a true family. The majority of our conversations are personal friendly not game related questions. We are thinking of going to a large kingdom with a mega spender because it’s all we can afford. To go to a smaller kingdom the price is ridiculous. GoG needs to figure out a way to make the game more exciting rather than just reskinning the same events over and over. Possibly a random weapon any level castle can find while mining that will temporarily give them the same stats as the highest level of competition in that weeks events. This way you bring smaller castles to the forefront and make them important. You have to do something or the kingdoms will continue to die.

Memory hog, most expensive game I have played
This game started like a fun place to meet people from all over and build alliances, completing simple tasks and, once every couple of weeks, fight with other kingdoms to earn rewards to keep on growing. But the developers are greedy and, in order to remain competitive, be prepared to pocket out $300-400/month. You can play for free but, as we all know, these games are full of bullies whose main goal is to beat up on others to demonstrate their superiority. It is obvious that the big dogs in this game have either spent many thousands to reach the pinnacle, have hacked the game, or are employees of the developer trying to push the envelope. I suspect it is a combination of all three. Furthermore, I started playing this game in an iPad with 32 GB RAM. It came a point in which the game was hogging roughly 10 GB just by itself. I upgraded to this iPad Pro and reinstalled it from scratch. Guess what: the game now takes about 1.8 GB. Which suggests that upgrades simply pile up, not replace previous installs. So, if you plan to play long term, be prepared to have a nice sum in the bank or some device with 265 GB RAM. It is not surprising that many leave the game. Why haven’t I left? because I made some pretty good friends along the way and I thoroughly enjoy their company and our “fireside” chats.

At first it’s fun seems pretty easy as you get into the game though you really can’t get ahead unless you pay money. But that seems to be a never ending thing when you get to certain levels it will take you months maybe even a few years to get the items you need if you don’t pay the money for it. I am invested $100 and regretting it. I should’ve checked into it more so it’s my own fault. They’re constantly after you to pay.

You used to be able to win Duke Badges - maybe even 5 every week or two (i’ve saved a little over 400 in several months) BUT NOW - you have to BUY them at $9.99 U S Dollars. 600 Duke Badges = $859.14 US dollars. AND THAT’S JUST DUKE BADGES. You have to have a lot more stuff. So yeah - there’s a lot of games to play. Run away. I’ve invested thousands of dollars for nothing.

Hide Your Wallet
Goodness. Fun social game. If you want to be competitive you have to play multiple hours a day every day and spend hundreds. Then you have to spend hundreds more once the next update comes. If you like pay to win you’ll love this game.
