Garbage
I’ve used gusto for about 3 years now, and it is complete garbage, I could not hate this app more, support is nowhere to be found, load times are horrid, it crashes, their top concern is being cute with dumb animations and font
If you decide as a company to use this app, you are torturing your employees and I hope your coffee is always the wrong temperature

Seriously? You are going to charge me a fee to access my paycheck?!
Very inconsistent
No longer allowing my payment to come through Gusto it’s very unreliable and they always delaying payments. I’d rather receive it in my bank because the two day thing is a lie. Very very unreliable.
Horrible payment
Ever since my job switched to this app everything’s has sucked. Especially when paychecks land on a holiday. They should expedite the process instead of delaying it. Don’t recommend this app for anyone .

Lame
Has partnership with Clair for advances. Clair is a pain in the ace to use, when you contact support it is a stupid AI robot no actual real human representatives. No issues get resolved. Both apps are a waste of time. Highly recommend Dayforce for employers to use, much simpler with better quality!
Annoying
So the app works well and allows you to split your paycheck so that comes in handy however if you are currently getting paid by your bank a day or two early then switching to this account will put your check 2 days behind. They have the option to use their “spending account” and they claim you will get your funds 2 days early just as my bank was doing but that is a lie they do not give your pay 2 days early even though payroll has been submitted. If you question them they will reiterate the narrative but it is actually lies and it doesn’t work that way… also using their premium account does NOT give access to use any ATM for free once per month this is also a lie I’ve tested them both and they are both lies even though they will reassure you that it isn’t

I have loaded and deleted this app multiple times, updated software, updated the app, restarted network settings, and everything else under the sun that I have been told to do by the customer support line and it still doesn’t work. I tried doing it from the web browser and guess what… STILL doesn’t work. I just don’t know what to do.
Not Good on the Employee Side
This app has been nothing but a headache. The hours are listed wrong, which makes it confusing to understand what I’m being paid for and what I’m not. Break times are 1-2 mins faster than actual time. One time here and there, whatever. This is every time. It would also be nice to see times and who is editing time cards. There are corrections, but it says I am doing it on the computer. I don’t have the permissions to edit, so it would be nice to see who is doing it and at what time. Great for employers, horrible for the people who actually use it.
Tired of these work apps
I made a mistake on my I-9 and now have to contact my employer to make a change… perfect example of technology meant to speed things up slowing things down and adding unnecessary steps

Constant issues with payment processing and the fees are ridiculous Cash App is way better if you want reliability and no fees 💯 facts !!

Lose your debit card? No worries, you won’t be able to pull cash out until you receive your new debit card. It’s 2026 why don’t yall have that capability? Other banks do this. Definitely closing

Avoid the Nightmare
I have to use this app for work. Ten customer service, navigation, and fees are obscene. Need money, they have a fee. Need to talk to customer service about a payment not processing , it’s either a cheap AI or someone just guessing and telling you to use another bank account, and the expense processing also incurs fees for you.
If you are a business and use this for your employees payroll, then you will be dealing more with employee complaints than actual payroll and expense process

another garbage app
It’s unintuitive to log hour vs the desktop version. why do i have to navigate to the past pay period section to find the current pay period to log hours? It makes no sense. I also can’t delete an accidental clock in. On top of that the contact us link sends you to a gd bot, so you can’t even contact a human for help. Well done guys

I set up my account but then Gusto kept my paychecks in their account and charged me 1.75% to transfer the funds
Transfer accounts unauthorized
I always had direct deposit via my PNC bank & it switched automatically without me knowing now I have a 1.75% deductible. That’s not right. I want my refund

4 out of my last 6 checks have been “paper checks”. And you aren’t notified that it will be a paper check until AFTER 5 pm. So you will have to wait days just to physically get one instead of simple direct deposit. This app is HORRIBLE.

The fees that you have to pay to get the money you’ve earned are outrageous. The only reason I will continue to use this app is because my company uses it. I have to pay 20 bucks to get my money and put it in my account. They’re Thieves

Trying to set up a transfer the UX has a lot of friction, they’re not interested in pushing their own products. We churned.
Not small business friendly
They charge the business owner to have their name on the schedule even though I pay the $80 and I don’t run a payroll. They added on a service I did not give permission for and will not refund me for any of this. I have one employee and it cost me over $300 a month just in fees. Do not use!!!
“Rainy day fund”
Went to transfer 100 dollars out of my rainy day fund savings and they charge you 1.75% to transfer YOUR money from your paycheck to your actual bank account. Needless to say i will not be using the rainy day fund anymore.
Would Not Stay Logged In on The App
No way to savw password, everytine you have to input oassword. No way to ‘Stay Logged in’. You clock out for your 10 min break, come back in after 9 mins its already logged you out, start from inputting the password, see that piggy stroll for some tine then click on the Time button at the bottom then click on the Break Over thing… please fix this. I want to STAY LOGGED IN THE APP FOR AT LEAST 30 days without having to input the password again. It is important esp when clocking and out for 10 minute mandatory breaks!!!!!!!

Sorry but this is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced for a financial product. The reps on the phone barely speak English, and they don’t know basic knowledge of Gusto features. Do NOT open a Gusto Spending Account.

STOP SPAM AND FIX THE APP
Stop spamming with “preview your paycheck” notifications!!! It does not work!!! The app does not show any previews!!! It only visible in the web!

It’s absolutely great company if you don’t want to get paid on time. In the last two months of using this app I have gotten paid on time maybe three times, and it’s crazy because I am in charge of payroll for my company
Cumbersome app
This app is very difficult to navigate and tough to get support from them, the online version is 10 times more difficult to navigate! Overall, very disappointed!
Does not track PTO or sick days
It does not track PTO or sick days, so I have no clue how much I have accrued. This makes it really easy for business owners to deny rightful PTO and sick days claims. Not good for employees.

Beware!!! Scam!!
My company uses this app for payroll. I ended up having fraud on my account where a transaction was taken out that I did not authorize. I reported it to them right away. They have five days to either resolve the fraud claim or give me a provisional credit. They closed my account one hour before they were supposed to give the provisional credit and stole all my money. They told me in an email suddenly that there is no way to dispute it and that my account is permanently closed. I tried to call their phone number and I ended up in India and they refused to put me on with a supervisor or tell me why my account was closed . I also tried to use their chat. They told me the same thing saying that there’s nobody there that can answer the question as to why my account was closed. I don’t know how they get away with this. I thought they were FDIC insured. Someone from the Government should really look into this. I would recommend choosing any other app over this, especially for payroll or bank deposits!

Worked fine until I couldn’t log it
The app will not let me login I put in all my information. Nothing happens so I have to go through the website, which is a little bit frustrating
App sucks
Always has problems loading, and even when it does work it’s extremely slow. The website isn’t much better. When you’re expected to clock out and in on time, this service makes it painful
Unable to use legacy version
Gusto Mobile requires use of the most updated version of the app, which is not compatible with some legacy iOS versions on older phones. This prevents opening the app and renders it useless, and is a basic feature to have. Sad to see user experience neglect and hope that this is changed in the future.
