Used to be a great game
The game has changed drastically in the past 4 months. I have been a VIP for the last 4-5 years, whatever that means. The game makes you spend spend spend and when you do, there is absolutely no advantage in doing so. They changed the algorithm so it is soo difficult to win without using up what you purchased. The game is garbage now.
Another lousy Zynga game
Just as I suspected they don’t post all the reviews they post the good ones of course but not the bad I would imagine they delete those. But if you write a bad review expect your play quality to plummet. Typical on any Zynga game. Starts out ok then after a while they bombard you with buy this adds and sale adds like it’s not bad enough all the other adds and you have to watch. You have to watch add too get extra turns and over half the time you watch the adds and you DO NOT receive your extra turns. There are more glitches in this game than you could imagine or it’s just Zynga’s way to try and cheat you out of your money.
Not the same
This used to be a great game and we had a fantastic club with active players. Ever since they got rid of quidditch it has gone downhill. The same maze every weekend. The same exact levels. Over and over. No variety. My club went from 20 active players to 5. Try to give constructive feedback with no response. What used to be a great game is now dull, boring, and repetitive. Developers have been saying they are bringing back quidditch but never have.

Money Sucker
I’ve been playing this since it first released and for as long as I can remember I have always gotten ads for extra moves up to a certain point in the day. Once I used the ads a certain amount of times it would no longer appear until it refreshed the next day. Recently I made a small in game purchase and since then the ads for extra moves have disappeared. I tried going to support and they just gave me a bs excuse that certain people get it for certain reasons but it’s pretty clear that it’s because I finally made an in game purchase. I brought this up, but again they just avoid it and say “your feedback is extremely valuable” and that’s it. It’s quite frustrating no longer having the ads because if I want to keep a streak going for certain events and all I need is one or two extra moves, I don’t want to spend gold/powers up just to do it. It seems like they take away the ads once you’ve made a purchase because they want you to continue to make purchases and therefore keep spending money. If I had known this would happen and start making the game more difficult to play and the qol of the game much worse prior to making the purchase, I never would have made the purchase in the first place. I am very disappointed with this game and it’s a terrible model to force players to either spend more money or have a harder time to play. If you look online and even in other reviews here you’ll see that others have ran into the same issue and you can see the BS responses in return.

No options for extra free moves by seeing ads
It is very frustrating that if I want extra moves to help finish the game, the only two options are pay with coins or pay with dollars. There used to be an option for ads, which has been removed, this is ridiculous. This is just a money minting game now.

Love it but......
I love this game except for the way it cheats me out of moves. I’ll make a 4 match or 5 match but I don’t get the power up or get a lesser power up. Other times I’ll use a power up but the game sends it in the wrong direction even though I moved it in the right direction. Or I’ll try and combine 2 power ups and it won’t give me the super power combo. Very frustrating as it means I lose levels that I should have won.

So now there are ads IN-game?
One of the big draws to this game was that there are no annoying ads or ad banners scrolling while you play. Ads are reserved for more lives if you run out. This update has brought banners on the top of the game, which narrows the playing areas. These annoying banners have been slowing the game down and creating glitches. I am sure the developers will say “well, it’s only for our products,” but this is how it starts. Next thing you know this game is going to turn into some “Gossip Harbor” garbage where you get more ad time than play time. No thanks. I think it is time to put aside this game for a while. I’ll be moving onto a game that is going to be more concerned about the players’ experience than their ad revenue. Also, no one is going to collect all of those cards. It’s impossible in the time needed and when they just don’t give you certain cards-getting that prize is impossible.
Shifting Goalposts
I’ve enjoyed this game and had a lot of success. Frankly, that seems to annoy them. They constantly change the parameters to reduce rewards and push you to pay. If you want to feel punished for enjoying a game, this is the one. I think I’m done.
Elite Passes are ruining the game
It’s very frustrating when companies move towards forcing their player base to spend more money on their game. Adding these stupid Elite Passes is an example here. You can no longer upgrade passes with coins you earn in the game. It’s getting increasingly difficult for me to continue playing this game.
Game is not the same
The game has new aspects but they were created to make you spend money. Before they offered ways to get the elite pass with gold coins you accrue but now the only option is to pay with real money. I used to love this game and I still play it but each update they make seems less for us and more for the money. They already have tons of ad options so they definitely make their money on this game. It’s sad that it’s not enough for them.
Game does not allow all functions to be played
Fun game but does not open all options while playing. Examines me-cards come n last but lay or you need 75 pink gems and 75 pink gems never show up.
Graphics are cool, but it’s overly complicated and very glitchy
It’s your typical match game, and the images and backgrounds are fun if you’re a Potter fan. But honestly, there is so much extra stuff that it distracts from the game play, and it’s got a number of bugs. The vibration feedback sometimes gets stuck and you have to force stop the app to get your phone to stop shaking. And some of the special features will act like annoying pop ups at times. I kept hoping the dev team would uncover and resolve these things, but no such luck yet.

Feedback
I’ve been in an endless loop trying to give feedback, and it’s sending me in circles. I’m frustrated. I’ve been playing for years, and I stupidly decided to purchase some power ups. The cost was minimal, less than $2. But since making the purchase, I can no longer get more turns by watching ads. I cannot believe you PUNISH players for supporting your game. It’s very off-putting, and I am both disappointed and kind of disgusted. I have spoken with a few other players who have had the same thing happen. So new players: NEVER MAKE A PURCHASE. You will lose ads and perks. This algorithm is something support needs to remedy because it’s wrong and greedy. It makes me want to never play your games and to encourage others to do the same.
Unfortunate Changes
This game used to be a lot of fun. I could get my whole family to play. There have been so many changes that have led to almost all of my family quitting the game. They developers no longer offer a premium pass for coins so it is essentially pay to win. After a certain point, you will lose a high streak unless you play. I also enjoyed Quidditch because those puzzles were different and the quidditch players were fun to upgrade. Quidditch disappeared many months ago. I play but usually just the bare minimum to keep my team in a halfway decent tier. I wish they would make the game fun again.
