Error-prone app and unhelpful support
Multiple times now I have tried to request a stay at a host, only to have the harvest host app (and website) give me the error that my requested date is outside of the hosts booking window, when it very much is not!
Their support, while friendly, have asked their devs to look into this, and finally said that they didn’t know why it wasn’t working. That’s really concerning.
This is a pretty frustrating app and subscription $$$ if it frequently doesn’t work, and their devs don’t know why!

Difficult to cancel
Once subscribed, I found canceling successfully to be very difficult. Little to no communication following my requests, but nearly daily repeated attempts to bill my card on file. The listing of hosts is a nice idea, but I did not find it groundbreaking.

Layered and complicated to use. If you do have an issue there is NO customer service or support to help resolve problems. They rely solely on AI, which is at best stupid and unreliable if not outright unresponsive. Used to like this app but canceling

Auto Renew !
I’ve cancelled my account because of the obligation of a $30 overnight fee no matter what the host site is like(ie someone’s front yard. However, HH still charged me thru. auto renew. And there is basically no Service!
App functionality
I’m trying to use the app on an iPad and an iPhone, but the words don’t fit in the buttons, and things don’t ‘fit’ right. It’s frustrating as I have to guess what they say. Please fix this. When I’m on the road and need to check and update my travel, I need to access from these devices.
Don’t forget to cancel
This app makes it harder than it needs to be for you to cancel and they will charge you for years after you sell your rig. Don’t forget to cancel your membership once you aren’t using this app anymore. 4 years of fees for nothing, what a waste of money!
Be sure to turn OFF automatic auto-renew!!!
Company opts YOU and YOUR credit card into auto-renew immediately at any joining. You will be renewed forever at $179 until you turn OFF auto renew or CANCEL. I did not find Harvest Hosts that great overall and not worth the money. I was shocked to see they auto-renewed me after never specifically consenting and paying close attention to never join any auto-renewals, and find their legal terms VERY DECEPTIVE and intentionally DEVIOUS to customers. They deserve much less than 1 Star!!! They are very slow and lazy to trying to refund customers or do what should be fair, after possibly intentionally or unintentionally tricking them from day one of joining with them. Do what is right and fair, Harvest Hosts, and not just what you can trick customers into (illlll)LEGALLY Harvest Host!!!!

No Offline Access!
Terrible that this app claims to be for boondocking and other remote places like farms yet it doesn’t work at all offline. At a minimum you should be able to access existing trips offline. This would allow access to the host’s address, check in times, etc. Instead you need to save this information outside of the app - annoying since you don’t know if the area will have good cell service until you get there.

Very flaky app this year
We’ve had nothing but trouble this year trying to book stays. The app often won’t let us request stays and we have to delete and reload it to get it to work. Sometimes we just give up and make arrangements straight with our hosts if they have published phone numbers. I don’t ever remember having issues in prior years.
Illegal and dangerous activity
1. Two years ago I was sexually assaulted by a host and Harvest Host did nothing - the member is still on the app.
2. I was stalked and harassed for weeks by another member who screamed at me for not paying the $15 for electric when I never even plug in! - they’re still allowed on the app
3. HARVEST HOST WILL GO IN YOUR MESSAGES AND PRETEND TO BE THE MEMBER YOU’RE CHATTING WITH!!
- TOLD TO ME TIGHT OUT OF THIR MOUTH! 😱
4. Had another member actually physically try to move my little camper with their vehicle JUST because they wanted closer to my spot (caught on camera) HH AGAIN did nothing and THAT member is still on there.
This all happened two years ago when I used the app. I canceled it - for my own safety.
5. Harvest Host CHARGED ME AGAIN even though I did not have automatic renewal on!
I’VE MET DOZENS OF HARVEST HOST MEMBERS AND HAVE GOTTEN NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FROM ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE ONE! SO I DON’T KNOW WHERE ALL THESE ARE COMING FROM!
