I was using the old HDFC bank app, and there was no issue with it. But in this new app, whenever I try to send money, I don’t click anywhere, then hang up my phone, and I need to restart the app.
Retrograde user experience
App still prevents screen shots…insane practice that does not deter crooks and really creates problems for users. Because they can’t do good input validation they will not allow cut and paste of account numbers for transfers. Again - poor and retrograde non-user centric experience. Small fonts, tiny icons, cramming too much into screen, not centered on basic daily experience (payment, balance and transfer).

Shame on you for your paid reviews and nonsense responses. I am in the US, always have an “active SIM” and excellent coverage. Stop lying and admit that your app does not work with eSIM phones.

Not working in USA
Trying to long in my NRI NRO account but couldn’t able to get SMS with my USA number which is associated with HDFC and authentication failed as not getting massage. I was able to get everything with old app but not with this new version. Plz fix as soon as possible.
NRI customers can’t use the app
Unfortunately this is not fully live and doesn’t have mobile banking features for NRI customers.

Those reviews are paid, more than one week and I’m still not able to register. Due to this they blocked my account and now I can’t send money to India.

Probably the worst bank app I’ve ever seen. Customers wants to see balance after the login. I’m confused why would they have to tap twice to see. There are plenty of unwanted options in the home page that NRI customers won’t even look at it. I’ll probably close out my account once I reach India .

Asks me to register every time
I registered post downloading the app. Step one it will ask for the email and phone number. After that it will require details for registration, post providing it and successfully setting up password using the username name. Next time when I click on the app link it will start again with the registration step. Also gives me an error message that my browser is not updated, but in fact it’s the latest version. I feel old one was good enough.
Trash app prepared by unprofessional developers.
The previous app was working fine, but all of a sudden it stopped working and asked to download this new app, and this new app does not allow us in USA to login. It is a headache offered by HDFC bank as a gift to its loyal customers.

I’m unable to register because your app isn’t allowing me to login without sim verification. Sim verification keeps failing. How am I supposed to use the app??

For NRE users who are using an Indian mobile number, this creates a challenge-they must enable international data roaming to complete registration, which is inconvenient and often not feasible. As a result, users are unable to continue using the application.

Painful app
Financial app should be simple so that it is clear for people to see the steps clearly. The old one is simple , clear and faster. UX/CX needs to rethink the new app. Too many options , too many hidden menus. The correct mpin did not work on first time. Had to reset. Keep it simple and easy so that a 70 yr old can also use without asking Gen Z grandparent.

This is ridiculous decision to change a fully app, old one is working fine, but new one i tried more than 20-25 times for register but till now that is failed. I need emergency need of money, but l’m unable to access app. Old app fully closed, at-least till new not working you should run old one. There is no option for negative rating otherwise i did. Now need to change my bank
No logout option
Literally sucks. First know how to make a app . There is no logout option and it is not allowing me to login to HDFC netbanking now.
Doesn’t work with WiFi
It warns about WiFi being unsecured and even after proceeding it doesn’t open and use biometrics to unlock the app. I tried with mpin login and same issue. Can’t expect to turn off WiFi ever time I have to use the app. That is not practical. Also WiFi is a good way to connect because of speed.

I would give HDFC zero stars if I could. 1) The app asks you to type in your password but does not allow you to make it visible.
2) The app binds you to one mobile device. My iPhone. After that I am unable to login to net banking on my laptop browser. It says already logged into another device. So I cannot now do anything on the desktop website. (On the app may items are not available. It says do it in NetBanking.
3) Also What am I supposed to do if my phone gets damaged or lost or I upgrade?

Security Issue in HDFC Bank Mobile App OTP Verification
The HDFC Bank mobile app has a serious security flaw. It sends OTPs to whatever phone number is entered without verifying if it’s actually registered to the account. That defeats the purpose of OTP authentication and raises real security concerns. This needs urgent fixing.
SIM binding for international customers
Sim binding for international customers doesn’t make any sense. If you insist me to register via sim binding then I will take my business elsewhere!!. With this app downfall of HDFC has begun.
Font size issue and not friendly
Team, the font size is too small and it doesn’t look user friendly. Also, I need the balance to be visible whenever I login. I don’t need want to press eye icon every time. Also when I’m trying to switch the accounts from NRO to NRE , it’s too small.

Does opening the app itself mean that I wanted to use the app. Should it automatically login with Face ID, if the Face ID setup? It is annoying to click on the login with Face ID button each time I want to use the app. Learn from other apps.

Software Engineering 101: Your app is either finished or it’s in BETA. If it’s finished, strip the label. If it’s in beta, it must be opt in only. Forcing a broken "beta" on users while the verification fails constantly is a pathetic excuse for development. By killing the old app with no fallback, you haven’t launched an update, you have screwed your customers.

I’m abroad and now I don’t have means to check my bank account just because you only accept OTP for authentication. How on earth am I supposed to access my bank account? Both the net banking and mobile banking have been changed overnight without proper warnings. This is completely unacceptable from a bank this huge.
Extremely Slow
No Testing is done on app for NRI customers. I had to manually disable UPI authentication. If you have asked for location the first thing and identified an international phone number, why keep trying it. Then app has so much loading time when you click on something. Terrible job by their technology team.
Hate it so far!
Too cluttered, too much promotional content,& could not find the the request so couldn’t pay for my Blinkit order. Tried to return to the old app but it wouldn’t allow that.

Unable to verify eSIM while traveling
What is the point of having the app bind to your eSIM when you can access net banking on the web without outgoing SMS? What additional security do you get? I don’t have outgoing SMS as I’m traveling, I only have incoming SMS. Have alternative log in mechanisms, not just outgoing SMS. For the sake of security, you’ve just made our lives inconvenient. And no, I will not contact your customer support, enough people have complained about this, fix it by adding alternative ways to log in.

I have an India number for OTP registered with Hdfc and using the app on my US mobile phone number. Now your automated variation is trying to send sms from my U.S. number and says it doesn’t match with any associated account. Pls fix
