I joined under the impression that it was unlimited and you only get charged credits for premium items. I hit the cap within 24 hours and I was just warming up. I don’t mind even paying more for unlimited but I never liked counting credits. I have canceled 1 day in so if you are here for the same , I’ll save you some time. They billed me $29 for 1 day use. I will contact my Amex to dispute the charge if they don’t credit me.

Not good
The creator plan makes it seem as though you can make unlimited videos, and that is not true. I made less than 10 videos and I’m already being told that I need to buy more tokens in order to make more videos. The videos aren’t great either. My avatar will be speaking and randomly touch her hair.. just weird glitchy things. There are definitely better AI options out there.

Just purchased a subscription last night and somehow my credits are gone, 196 of 200 for avatar? Renews next month?! How does the payment plan work? I paid creator for the year!

I am officially done with HeyGen. I signed up for the $30/month Creator plan to move forward with a professional film pitch, but the experience has been a total disaster.

They heavily market 'unlimited' features, but anything actually usable (like high-fidelity avatars or premium motion) drains your tiny credit bucket instantly.
To make matters worse, when I tried to resolve the issue, I was told that upgrades and credit add-ons are 'not available in my area.' How can a global AI platform take my money for a subscription but then claim regional restrictions when I need to actually use the service I’m paying for? They have essentially bricked my account for the rest of the month with no path forward.
If you are a serious creator or a student on a deadline, stay far away. This isn't a tool; it's a dead end. I’ll be taking my workflow to D-ID or ElevenLabs where they actually value their customers' time and regional access.

They tell you the paid plan is unlimited but you will run out after generating few videos and they want you to buy more credits. I’d give less than 1 star if i could. Wasted money

Hey guys, whatever cheaper Avatar VI update you made, please change it back. This version is messing up our videos, and it’s really annoying. 😡😡😡😡
Not good for voice cloning and expencive
I’m honestly disappointed with this app. There are other AI apps out there with similar technology that are much more affordable. All I needed was simple voice cloning, but this platform is charging $99 per month - which is way too expensive for basic translation and using my own voice.

Ir is hard and expensive to create video content specially when you are the presenter or you are the face of the organization. HeyGen rocks and make things easier to be your own producer and actor

I like the platform and the overall idea behind it, but the credit system needs serious improvement.
Credits get consumed very quickly, even when the issue is caused by the AI itself. For example, when the output has errors, glitches, or doesn’t follow the instructions correctly, you still lose full credits. This makes the process frustrating and expensive, especially when you need to regenerate content multiple times.
It would be much more fair if users were not charged for results that are clearly flawed or unusable. A refund or retry system for failed generations would greatly improve the experience.

Overpriced scam
Frequently fails to generate the video. Then when you go to delete the failed attempt, it informs you that your credits will NOT be refunded. I believe the word for this is SCAM. Edited to add: THREE FAILED VIDEOS IN A ROW, followed by ONE success. And now, I'm already out of credits. Canceling subscription and deleting this POS.
Bad App
Stay away from this app. Very few credits available for a paid subscription and slow servers when your credits run out. Lots of money for more credits and continually having to retry to get videos to generate.

App keeps glitching and generates what’s unusable and you suddenly aren’t allowed to generate any more until you pay up again

Bad Experience
The $30 a month plan that I have is not in 4K, and the app on my phone seems to have very limited access to the different features. I was unable to open the software on my desktop so I can access the different features. It does things like automatically reduces my script down to a minute. That’s a feature that it has, but I didn’t select it. I have not been able to figure out how to unsubscribe or cancel my plan. I also haven’t been able to figure out how to get any kind of technical support or billing help. The instructions that it provides does not apply to my phone.

You can create only 5 videos at max with your credits for $29 per month. Also, the prompt picks up a wrong avatar and not your own default private avatar.
The videos cannot be edited after they are generated with mistakes. Overall maybe good for some UGC content. Too costly for small content creators.

Inadequate clone avatar
If you’re not already set up with a social media room, mounted camera and professional lighting, forget this software to do what you think it will. No face tuning, no lighting, terrible interface from phone to software download, difficult to use, to navigate and basically impossible to do a video bc the clone avatar is sub par. Better to use Grok and their level of tech. This one is a waste of money for any kind of cloning. It literally feels like 1999 software.

The avatars now feel cartoonish and unnatural instead of premium and realistic.
Please give creators more control over motion intensity, facial animation, gesture frequency, and expression levels, or bring back the older, more subtle animation style.
Right now it feels impossible to create calm, grounded, luxury-style content without the avatar overreacting constantly.

The UP-CHARGING is ridiculous!!! There are free apps that do the same avatars and functions. The rate already automatically increased without my consent from $19/mo to $29/mo. I never agreed to an extra $15/mo pack… whatever that is! ENOUGH ALREADY! If it appears on my bank statement again; I will press charges.

Quality is dropping
I switched from Synthesia to Heygen a couple of years ago because Heygen made great strides in lip syncing with their avatars. Recently, however, I've had an impossible time getting avatars to speak naturally without unusual head or hand movements based on what's being said. I've tried both Avatar 3 and 4 and I'm not happy with the results. It doesn't matter what length of video you create. The problems don't seem to be able to be overcome.
