This is extremely annoying if you start an episode to test out a series and no longer find yourself interested. The streaming works fine but is also complete care minimum. Step it up HIDIVE.
I can’t watch anything even tho I’m subscribed
So pretty much I’ve been subscribed for over a year now and out of no where I just can’t watch anything.

I have a subscription at first it was good amazing shows the the glitching where playing a show saying no subscribition that’s strange it’s bin like that for months almost a yeah I’m sad it was a good place for shows

Tried to log in but it kept saying it couldn’t find my email, went to make a new password but it said error. Made new email and subscribed but nothing would play. Logged out, logged in but nothing played. Don’t waist your time with HIDIVE
A Joke
Cant even chat with support, they say they will reach out via e mail 2 weeks later nothing! No response no reaching out, not even checking what is the problem. The app is horrible, not user friendly at all, you can’t even use “space” to pause or play. Every episode need to change the language, somehow it just opens the episode not with my preferred language.

Last Update
Ever since the last update, I haven’t been able to use the app at all. After it opens it shows “No Content Available” on every tab except for the Store. It doesn’t even let me log out, just refreshes the app and it still says the same thing.

I don’t ever write reviews but this app pushed me to do so. HIDIVE has so much potential but the admin and technical support of this app clearly does not care about its users. At first I thought all these bad reviews were not actually that bad but man was I wrong. Half the time open the app I have spamming msgs telling me no content available I have to logout or delete the app every time just so I can see the content I sadly payed for. Now in its defense the competitor of crunchyroll really has made it hard for HIDIVE to compete that being said basic quality of life things that make crunchyroll so popular. This app just need some actual updating for its support team and it will be fine my goodness is this a disappointment. If you on the fence about this app definitely do not download wait for major updates before touching this app.
Garbage
This app is fkn garbage I’m tired of having to change the audio back to Japanese after every single gd episode, my preferences are literally set to Japanese audio. I don’t know what the people at hidive get paid to do but they should all be fkn fired. Once my subscription is up this month I’ll be sticking to Crunchyroll and Amazon ✌️

Bought a subscription that said I had 7 days free then charged me immediately and I can’t cancel it in app. Don’t get any deals from this and there aren’t any even kinda popular anime here
Lazy garbage app
It simply doesn’t work, how can a serious company associated with Amazon be this broken? You can get shows to play if you repeatedly press the pause and play button for those actually trying to enjoy what they paid for. Oh yeah, it also doesn’t remember your watch history, so that’s convenient. Just sail the high seas, it’s a lot less stress inducing than dealing with this trash app.

When I subscribed to it, I was never able to watch where I left off at. It always started me over. There are shows I want to watch on there that I can’t see anywhere else but I’m not wasting my money. I’m sorry. I just can’t.

This does not work on European regions and it doesn’t allow vpn’s i had to spend my afternoon carefully picking away at it just for it to work in time for my flight.

Don’t waste your money
The app is always going down on weekends. I subscribed for a year. Every two months or so, I have to go to the website to reset my password. The anime selection is small. Most of the big name anime they have can be found on Hulu or crunchy roll .
Doesn’t work over mobile data
The app won’t load at all when I’m using mobile data I can’t even get on the website. Read some other reviews and realized there has been a long problem of videos not loading and receiving an error. Don’t recommend this company or app.

Literally Doesn’t Work
When I open the app I’m given an error and nothing loads. I refresh the page, nothing happens. I close the app and reopen it, nothing happens. I restart my phone, not once but three times, nothing happens. I delete the app, nothing happens. Terrible app, just use crunchyroll.

Fix your app
Could you please fix your app for better functionality. Every time I choose an episode to start on, it only plays that episode. It doesn’t automatically continue playing the rest of the season. It’s getting super annoying to click each and every episode after one finishes. Thank you

Whoever is your developer team needs to be fired! I’m so tired of trying to use this platform and I can’t chrome cast 3 times to watch two episodes because the app can’t tell if I’m watching in dub or sub.
What am I paying for?

Poorly designed
For a paid streaming service not being able to use the app without WiFi is terrible. Even with WiFi the shows take awhile to load and multiple errors appear frequently. (What are the solutions to fix the major issues) (1st recommendation make it free, since paid customers can’t get use of the products)(2nd development a better software)

I cancelled my account the day before my annual renewal, they still hit me with a charge the next day!

The app is generally stable for me day-to-day, but from a product and engineering standpoint there are persistent issues that have gone unaddressed for far too long. At this point it doesn’t look like the team is operating with a quality bar or an accountable release process. Frankly, you probably need stronger technical leadership to prioritize and execute fixes.
1) Content schedule accuracy (UX + technical writing + data integrity):** The episode schedule is consistently inaccurate or stale. Whether the root cause is a backend/feed problem, a publishing workflow gap, or just poor technical writing and ownership, the outcome is the same: users can’t trust the product.
2) Casting/AirPlay reliability (performance/reliability):** I’ve used this app for years and casting/AirPlay has never been dependable. It either fails to connect, disconnects, or simply doesn’t work. This is a core feature for media apps, and the long-term lack of improvement suggests it’s not being tested, instrumented, or treated as a priority.
3) Navigation cohesion (UX + architecture):** Swiping away from the screen triggering an app reload breaks continuity and makes the experience feel fragile. That behavior reads like state management issues and an app lifecycle/architecture problem, not a deliberate design choice.
4) Customer trust (roadmap + execution):** As a company, you’re signaling that customer pain isn’t being acted on. These are not new issues, and the fact that nothing has changed implies there’s no effective feedback loop, no ownership, and no roadmap commitment to quality.
5) Retention risk (roadmap + competitive pressure):** I’m still here because I like anime, not because the experience is best-in-class. If I find a viable alternative, I’ll leave. I’m starting that search today.

So I pay for their subscription then one day I go on there to watch something and it is locked because I don’t have a subscription but on the same account go on my tv I can watch but not my phone
What's the point
Why add the fact that you have to pay to use the app that makes people not want to use it this is not what people want they want to watch anime with out having to pay

Worst Streaming App Ever
The UI is clunky. I watch a show and open another tab come back to the app to watch in full screen and it closes out and acts like I just opened the app for the first time. It doesn’t even save what I was watching and I have to go back through and find the anime I was watching. I thought Amazon video was a bad streaming platform for its layout but my god this takes the cake.
Not user friendly
Great anime on this app but the developers need to get their head out of their arse. Terrible for users trying to watch anime. Watchlist sucks, picking an anime sucks, next episode sucks, literally everything sucks about this app except me wanting to watch the anime. 0/10 app, all anime on here needs to go to Crunchyroll, Hulu, anywhere but here. This app is straight trash.
App Layout is Trash!!!
The anime that they release is amazing. The mobile app layout, how the users operates it is absolutely trash. This one of the worst streaming services apps that I’ve ever used. If it wasn’t for me traveling and being on the go… I would just use my PC/laptop to watch HiDive. Please be more like Crunchyroll’s app for mobile devices!!

I don’t Like this app, because it doesn’t have subtitles in spanish and it doesn’t have latin american language either

If you’re not convinced they don’t have good options. Here’s a few they missed: -Attack on Titan -My Hero Academia -Dr. Stone -Horimiya -That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - Demon Slayer -ONE PIECE -Frieren -Haikyu!! -Berserk -HunterxHunter -Chainsaw Man -Jujutsu Kaisen Someone on this review area said that HiDive has a better selection than Crunchyroll. Unless you’re a gooner and a sucker for romance anime’s do not download. They have the audacity to charge $7 a month for only that. Just get Crunchyroll instead.

App is so broken. On the iPhone it continues to flip between side view and up and down then starts off playing the last episode. This is my free trial and I’ll be canceling it before I actually pay money. So here’s to trying to binge watch everything on here that looks good before I get so fed up with the broken app. I cancel it before my free trial ends
