The monetization is like satire
Even after you pay the most expensive subscription in all of dating apps they still make you pay for individual features. Then they create like a slot machine game where you get to randomly pick somebody to pick unblur and of course this is after you already paid the super high premium price. You have to just laugh it’s so bad. I would be shocked if any of the people on there are real. They are just doing the standard dating app BS where they give you matches that you want to see from the beginning and as long as you pay one time they win. If you spend any length of time in this casino you’re a sucker.

Not what I expected
First of all, you can’t talk to anybody who messages you that doesn’t match with you first without upgrading they want you to get what’s called an un blur second every time you spin that roulette wheel I used to get un blurred all the time until I got messages in my inbox now that I have messages it’s been over a year and I haven’t got one single blur. It’s rigged. This app is terrible. Not to mention every time I put in search parameters it shows me everything except what I put in.
Pay to play
The premium version of this app is honestly a ripoff. The entire app revolves around “unblurs” so you can see who already liked you, yet even with the premium subscription you only get two unblurs per day. After that, they charge $7.99 for a single extra unblur, which is absurd.
The premium subscription barely adds any real value outside of unlimited swipes. I’ve had dozens of likes sitting there, yet almost none of those people ever organically appeared in my feed to actually match with. On top of that, some users are apparently locked behind another paywall as “premium profiles,” meaning you may never even see them unless you spend more money.
The developers seriously need an option for unlimited unblurs with the paid version because the current system just feels intentionally designed to keep people paying over and over. Overall, this app feels more focused on squeezing money out of users than helping people actually connect. Save your money and your time.

My experience of having had several people reach out and have conversations on highly, they’re just here to flirt. They’re not serious about any type of relationship or connection. Would not recommend this app to anybody. Didn’t want to give this any star rating, but it won’t let me submit my rating without doing it. But for the record, I would rate this app zero

A turd in a sea of filth
I think this is one of the worst apps I have ever used, let alone a dating app, and thats saying a lot because I used to be on Bumble. Intrusive popups and forced ads every ~15 seconds, mountains of fake profiles, useless "you don't have a match but come check out the app!" notifications that can't be disabled, a forced "roulette wheel" that only gives you a "special discount" on premium services, and it seems like the devs are beginning to push AI slop onto every user. I would choose living alone forever before I ever decide to use an app as disingenuous as Hily.
Paying to message
Its stupid to have to pay to message people. One of my friends got on here and she didnt have to pay a dime to message people at all. I cant even send the first message or reply to someones message without having to pay. Very unreliable that way.

You pay $40 for a premium subscription only to discover you have to pay for credits to reveal who liked your profile. Constant transactions few actual matches. Those who do match may be fake profiles because they don't chat. Most of the likes I revealed were not my type at all. Many of them were far away. Total waste of time and money.

App is filled with fake bot accounts just to get you to spend a ridiculous amount of money to get no response. I switched to another site and didn’t pay a dime and got a date within a week. Having to pay for premium and then also having to pay for features in the app is ridiculous.

First up they double or triple dip on what you “can” pay for.
Free has ads, sure fine model.
Premium removes ads and give limited unlocks per day.
What does that mean, you ask. Each day to get items like two liked unlocks (see who liked you) yes just two a day. Want more, oh that’s more money to buy packs of unlocks.
Backups if you skipped someone, send their version of super like. Limited per day but you can buy more.
Now to the sketchy stuff. First few days get an abnormal amount of likes, thinking maybe that finally a working app. Pay the sub to get the unblurs. Every single like is from a minimally filled account, sure fine. Send a like to match, send message, and every single one is left on “delivered”. Over 20 matches with ZERO responses, or even read receipt. Remember these are from people that already liked me and I decided to match. Sure feels like some very poor designed bots.
In the likes after unblurring if you don’t like they stay stuck in that list until you block them. Yes you can’t just say no and they are removed you have to block them to clear list.
After a couple days with premium I was able to go through their whole list of people in the area. Yet somehow when I use boost (3 hours) another like will come in from account that wasn’t shown during search. Bit odd.

The app appears to be designed to get you to download and subscribe and then make it as difficult for you to unsubscribe and delete as possible so you will get recurrent billed. Once the app is on your phone clicking to delete it produces no option to delete the app. It has a series of other options, none of which appear to delete the app. Even if you delete your account to stop billing, they continue to bill you. I am reporting this app to the FTC and DoJ antitrust division for anticompetitive practices which violate the click-to-cancel rule and to CA DoJ for violating California States similar rule.

Hily is an untrustworthy, glitchy and fraudulent app. If you’re considering downloading, please do at your own risk and peril, the developers of this app only designed this how they did to extract money from their users while simultaneously providing absolutely no value. So many features are useless and needlessly waste your time, please carefully reconsider your decision to download this app. If zero or negative stars were an option, I would have to give Hily -4 stars but it only gets a 1 today.

One of those scam apps that tries to get in a few more payments until you have to cancel your card. Help is no help. Just an AI chatbot that is useless.

I just swiped right on every profile for 10 minutes and didn’t get any matches, despite the app saying that 10 people have liked me since yesterday. They just want to trick you into unblurring, but then those likes are fake accounts or bots
Worst experience of my life
First match made date plans and promised sex and other gifts if I get them a $400 hotel. They ghosted and reported my account, when I showed duet support this legitimate romance fraud from this user they ignored me and said my screenshot on Expedia of the $400 is not enough to investigate the user. Romance fraud is a crime and when I show duet support they supported the romance fraud.
2nd match was normal until on our date she said she doesn’t like trump attack Iran and she wants all the Jews to die?

These are all scam and less than 10 percent of profiles are active and they sell their likes and boosters for whatever price they want This is actually the worst one and there is no online profile in there, but they sell the privileges the same as the other apps
