Banned Randomly
I was banned permanently with no explanation or reason. I tried to appeal or just get clarification but Hinge basically said “sucks to be you” and denied the appeal with no further explanation. So now since Hinge is owned by the same people who own Tinder and The League, I’m banned from all 3 for life, which makes absolutely zero sense. Dating is hard enough as is and now it’s basically impossible where I live because everyone uses either Tinder or Hinge. Glad I got to have this experience…
Update: Still banned, appeal button is just an error. Haven’t had luck dating in real life cus I’m a career driven individual. Kinda sucks but hey at least I’m not giving this company money anymore.

I’m not one to write reviews in the App Store. However, I think this app deserves one. Let me just start off by saying… yes, I do live in the middle of nowhere, so I think the lack of eligible bachelors is no fault of the app.
I learned just how slim my options are after paying for a week’s subscription. Not really sure how many free likes you get a day, but the app almost requires a subscription because there’s so little free likes given. So, I bought a weeks subscription to try it out, as one does. $20 for a week is DIABOLICAL. And no free trial? After a week is over and I get my “money’s worth” I’ll absolutely be deleting this app. I don’t really understand what part of the app requires subscriptions to be that high. I wouldn’t mind advertisements if that meant a cheaper subscription option.
I also don’t appreciate the lack of creative prompts for profiles. Nothing about music, movies, pop culture… etc. Really doesn’t seem like I can showcase my personality because of the questions. A collab with music platforms would be cool, too. And a swipe left function would be awesome.

The app has no filters to region beyond 100 miles. The app needs more filters as a wast of my time and money. It’s too generic and is always asking for an upgrade. I tried the upgrade it’s a joke.
Hard to vet properly

Not worth the money
I tried the free version, which was awful! I was told if you want quality matches, you need to pay for premium. I matched with one person in the 3 months on the app. 90% of the time during my “premium subscription” the app said there weren’t any profiles to show me. It’s a waste of money. I can’t say it’s false advertising bc you’ll definitely delete this trash app.
Oh, and I reached out to customer service. They said they don’t know how the algorithm works and they wished me luck getting a match. Serious waste of money.

got revenge reported and their support sucks , and they can you off all of their apps like tinder, pof, etc. try to get support and nothing happens. they are a joke
No moderation
No moderation, lot of obvious dead profile activity and again women who want pen pals are really what’s left. 4 or 5 months of texting, even after sharing numbers and still no commitment to anything past pen pal. It’s your usual validation tactic.
Awful app
This app is full of fake people who never respond. Not worth your time. I tried talking to people. They unfairly banned me and said I violated their terms of service and didn’t even bother to tell me what my violation was. Apparently they are ok with bots and not ok with people honestly trying to find someone . Don’t believe all these positive bot reviews. Try a different app.
Banned for life?
I was banned years ago and I have had no luck getting back on hinge. I hate this feeling. I was trolled by someone who reported me on Snapchat and hinge for not sending money after sending pics back and forth that she was recording. I want to use hinge and I’m stuck not using it. So yeah they delete you if they want to.
If you have any self esteem issues and are a guy, don’t use this app
Title. Will decimate your self esteem faster than any rejection you’d get in real life. Just prioritize getting out instead of paying this piece of garbage company. This experience is by design, they want your self esteem dependent on the success you get in the app. Then you get addicted to it as it wrecks your whole life and steals your money. Don’t go near this app with a 10 foot pole or 100 mile long one.

I remember when Hinge actually tried to match you with people. Now they just keep asking for more money to do what I used to be able to do a couple years ago. The free version is deliberately not working as the app advertises, not because the tech can't handle it, but because they want to squeeze $30/month out of me just to get back the basic functionality that was free a couple years ago.
I'd happily pay a fair amount, something like $3/week, a totally reasonable "this is useful" fee. But $30/month for what I used to get for free? That's just late-stage capitalism nonsense. The more you push me to pay, the more I want to delete the app entirely. You turned a hopeful tool into a psychological extraction machine.

Compared to others this one is awful, only able to swipe on like 10 people, you get banned for like nothing and when you try to appeal they have brain dead support that just auto deny you without explanation

You’ll get banned if anyone reports you. You don’t get a chance to really defend yourself . Say anything that remotely gives a person a reason to report and they’ll just ban your account
Useless without paying for subscription
Hinge will be the next to go the way of Spirit Airlines and the Dodo. It’s practically useless without some sort of a subscription now. Deleting.

Terrible. No ability to communicate with people. Hardly any matches. Tricky marketing practices. A waste of time. They use a lot of bots. And not real people. If you’re a man. This app is a scam. Started restricting access to a older likes
Hinge now won’t let you see older likes because they’re “expired” unless you pay for a membership. Some people like to take their time with each match instead of talking to 300 people at once.
No protection of your profile
There is a tik toker @realdennydawg who is sharing women’s profiles and their small personal information. Crimes against women are so real and the women on this app are not protected at all from men like this on this app.

Garbage app, prioritizes profit over matching people. Meaning they don’t actually show you people you’d be compatible with because they would get you off the app.
Match Group ruins everything
Ignore the bot reviews that give five stars, definitely way worse than what they say. Now this app shows “take a second look” to women I have X’d including women I have X’d through “a second look” with no way to opt out. There’s a reason I don’t want to take any look, stop!
Not what it used to be.
Hinge had so much potential in its early phases. I really loved the app. But it has fallen victim to paywall scams quite frankly. The free version is barely functional and now that interactions are based on likes and roses of which you can only see one on the free version. What happened to having matches. Also the two paywall options are more expensive than Spotify. It feels odd to be charging customers so intensely for an app that ideally we shouldn’t be using more than a music app if their “design to be deleted” motto still holds any sway. Though it honestly doesn’t anymore. The app is no longer designed to be deleted. It preys on those looking for love. And I’m not angry, I’m genuinely sad because it had such a promising start as an application and now it’s a pay to play kind of game.

Hinge is too expensive! They are money hungry rip offs in my opinion! I tried it one time but I am not gonna renew my membership once it’s up! Not only do the charge you for the membership which is like $30 a month but then they expect you to pay too much extra to do stuff on top of the membership! After you pay for the membership you still can’t even contact certain people because they put them in a group standouts that you have to pay too much extra buy what they call roses in order to be able to contact them, and the roses are as expensive as the stupid membership! Then they want you to pay extra just to get your profile seen in the Que by other people! In most other dating apps these are things that you do not have to pay extra to do it’s included in the regular membership 👎👎

This App was the hottest thing smoking when it came out I just decided to get back on and the whole thing feels like a money plot. Since when do likes expire?
Going down hill
This usually is one of my favorite dating apps pretty much my go too but with the constant addition of fees I’m honestly getting tired. I logged in today and went straight to the section of people that liked me (as I usually do), while going through the potential matches they tell me I need to upgrade to see who liked me. Now that what most apps do but what WAS unique about this one is that you could see who liked you for FREE. Now u can only have a certain amount of chats, they want u paying for roses, to see who likes you, certain characteristics, roses, a luxury side of the app, and so on and so on. It brings the whole vibe of the app down for me and I’m honestly very disappointed that they are trying to tax their users like this. Makes everything that was unique and great about it obsolete.

I truly thought Hinge was a good date and site for a man my Age, but like all the other sites, they seem to be full of fake profiles or women who just start conversations and don’t continue.

The best of the worst
While Hinge may be one of the better dating apps, like all of them, it’s far from perfect. I used to get a bunch of likes and matches when I was on the free plan, but once that started to dry up, I decided to pay for HingeX. When I did, I actually got even fewer likes and matches than when I was on the free tier-and I sent out *a lot* of likes during my HingeX plan. While Hinge claims to be an app “meant to be deleted,” I think they’re like any subscription business: built to keep you paying and paying for the bare minimum. Time to meet people IRL again.
Non-negotiables should be included in free filters
Wanting or not wanting children is not a negotiable thing. I wish Hinge would not treat it like a simple preference, like age or height. It’s not something that anyone should be talked into if they don’t want it. The biggest thing I would change is to make this a basic/free filter, because it is exhausting to get match requests from people who just dont read my profile and have the complete opposite goals. This app would also be better if all of the basic information (employment, education level, political view, relationship goal, etc) were required to publish your profile. Incomplete profiles are such a waste of time.

If i was not lucky enough to date the first guy i met I would not have continued the journey on this app anyways cause it’s too expensive and the free version is useless!
