Glitchy app, non existent tech support
While I enjoy some of the content, the apps, both iOS and AppleTV are horrible. Recent content does not play in appleTV : just shows black screen with audio. Contacted customer/tech support which is a joke. Three days later sent me an email 445 am asking for details about my device then 15 minutes later sent another email saying they are closing the ticket since there is no reply. I had purchased a paid subscription for a year which I’m guessing these crooks have eaten. Never again with these clowns. I would rate zero starting that was an option.

Their customer support is really pathetic and the content apart from few is really very disappointing and pathetic…the only way to reach them is through email amd in reply they send automated emails and that’s it…I would have cancelled the service this year only but it got renewed but definitely next year i am going to cancel the subscription

Scammer App
This app will not let you cancel your subscription. It will auto charge you for the subscription. There is no mechanism to cancel it on their website too. There is a fake button for cancellation that will only link to its help articles which are useless.

Fraud and Deceitful platform
This platform has a very finicky interface that doesn’t allow you to cancel your subscription. When you subscribe for the first time, it converts that subscription as an auto renewal. However, when you try to cancel it through their website, even though it says we are sorry to let you go, it doesn’t actually cancel the subscription. On top of this, it doesn’t also allow you to remove your payment information! Very disgraceful way of keeping subscribers with a very limited content collection!

Unusable Abroad, Dwindling Quality - A Waste of Money
I paid $60/year for Hoichoi while living in the U.S., but when I traveled to India, the app locked me out - support literally told me the “best” option was to pay for a second subscription. That’s not just poor customer service, it’s outright exploitative. Platforms like Netflix or Prime let you keep your account and access content globally; Hoichoi’s approach feels predatory in comparison. And even if you do get access, the content library is rapidly declining. If you’re looking for Bengali films with solid storytelling and IMDb ratings above 7, especially anything made in the last 20 years, you’ll be lucky to find even a handful. Extremely disappointing for a platform that claims to be the face of Bengali entertainment.

One of the worst bugs in an OTT app
The fact that the home screen does not load on the mobile app is why the Samsung TV app keeps saying “something went wrong” continuously as it repeatedly tries to land on the home page in the TV app. If you manage to spam the TV remote to go to any menu other than the home page (like search) then it works. No amount of restarting router, restarting TV, uploading TV OS, setting TV clock to “Auto” fixes this. For the premium amount spent in subscription this is one of the worst bugs in an OTT platform ever. It just renders the Samsung TV App completely ineffective. Get better software developers.

Couldn’t even copy properly
This streaming service is an example of shameless copy of any other streaming service. You pay significant price similar to other services but the experience is nowhere near. It has devices limit for no reason, the streaming quality is poor and keeps getting stuck. Keeps logging you out every other day and endless bugs.
I know being somewhat monopolistic platforms as a regional streaming service, Hoichoi team wouldn’t care about this review, so I am wasting my time. But if they read this review by mistake, my suggestion would be to spend some money on the technology and hire better quality engineers.

Cannot cancel subscription
You cannot cancel subscription easily. When you click “cancel subscription” button, it tells you to contact support team. There is no “chat” or “call” option to talk to a live agent to cancel it. Apparently you have to submit a ticket to cancel the subscription and they will get back to you in 12 hours once you submit the ticket. I submitted it, did not receive any confirmation email of submitting the ticket, no idea if it even went through, haven’t received any call back yet. Why would canceling a subscription be this difficult?!! It feels like a scam.

i'v subscribed 7 device with 2 simultaneous streaming. logged in only in 2/3 device of which only in one device i can watch new serieses like Odrisso, Nikhoj, 16.5 where as these serieses doesn’t run in another mobile! never! there is no place to complain no email no customer service nothing. its a garbage app
