Whoever is accountable for the design of this application needs to be sent to remedial human factors training. Controlling our Bosch 800 series dishwasher with this is possible once you figure out the quirks, but I’d rather just have a dishwasher with real buttons.
Bad app
Not intuitive, do we really NEED an app for a Flippin’ dishwasher. A real controll pad with cycles and “start” is all we need.
Should not be required
You need the app to use basic dishwasher functionality such as the clean cycle. It should be possible to do that with a button, not requiring an app. The app regularly forgets who I am and makes me sign in, but of course every time I forgot what highly secure password (for a dishwasher!) I had to create the last time. So every time I have to create a new one. Incredibly frustrating.

This app logs me out periodically. Which is fine. But when I try to log in again, it keeps saying don't have my account until I try multiple times over multiple days
Still not ready for prime time…
App doesn’t deliver the level of connectivity and control that it promises. I save (and confirm, and save over and over) a “favorite”. Then, the dishwasher runs another way. There’s visual evidence: If the door doesn’t open at the end of the cycle, the app’s not performing the way it told me it did.

I have had my Bosch refrigerator since 11/2021. I have tried several times to get this app to link to my refrigerator. I go through the whole setup then get an error message that there is an encryption error. I give up; I am deleting the app today.
2026 and lacking dark mode
The developers of this app are beyond lazy. We’re about to get iOS 27 this year. That means iOS 18 released almost two years ago. Yet Bosch thinks dark mode in-app and a iOS dark mode icon just isn’t necessary. This is the only app on my phone that doesn’t comply to the system dark mode standards. Pathetic.
I need to give private info to control my dishwasher?
With the latest update to this app, I was required to give personal information (e.g. e-mail address) to remotely control my dishwasher.

After nearly every update, the app icon changes, then mysteriously changes back later. More importantly, these updates cause all three of my connected appliances to lose their connection to the app. As for my fourth appliance, the refrigerator, I have never been able to get it connected regardless of the app.
What makes this especially frustrating is that the issue is not user error. I have successfully connected these appliances before, so I know the process. It’s not rocket science, and should not be. I have even had a representative call and walk me through reconnecting everything, as if it was my first time. The problem is clearly not that customers don't know how to use the app-it appears that the app itself is unreliable and insufficiently tested before updates are released.
Customer support has been equally disappointing. Emails sent to the help desk seem to disappear into a black hole, with little to no meaningful follow-up or resolution. What is most concerning is that instead of improving over time, the app continues to get worse. The developers need to spend more time real-world testing updates with actual customers and actual appliance configurations before releasing them. At this point, Home Connect has become a significant time sink rather than a convenience, which defeats the entire purpose of having connected appliances in the first place.

Horrible app/connection
Disconnects & is impossible to reconnect. Honestly I don't care if it connects, I just need to know when it has issues & has run a cycle or not!

Notification Hell
You’re required for some inexplicable reason to download this app to access all the features on your dishwasher. That shouldn’t be the case. And once you download it you’ll get such informative notifications that is asparagus season, FOR YOUR DISHWASHER, even if you’ve turned off ALL notifications. Also, save your login information because you’ll need it every few times you access the app.
Poor interface, sketchy connectivity
Have been using it for a while. Only reason I bought a Bosch espresso machine was wifi connectivity. App has poor interface, almost like Temu with too many distractions. Does not connect reliably. PLEASE fix the app. U need to start from scratch and build it.
Refrigerator = Ok. Ice Maker = Does not Meet The Bosch Hype - Mediocre at Best
This could have been an excellent product. Instead, Bosch Tried to define it as having an excellent, fast Ice Maker. Well, it’s neither. It would have been further ahead if it was promoted as not having an ice maker. It would have then met expectations and would be a good product. Not one that miserably fails at the task it’s supposed to be good at. This is an honest review, let’s see if it gets posted.
Registration infinite loop
Miserable interface and a registration process that loops you back after providing lots of personal info. Absolute worst.
Constant disconnects
This app constantly disconnects from my brand new dishwasher. I’ve had to re-add the appliance to the App 10 times in 2 months. I give up - this App is horrible!

37 year Bosch User NO MORE
A word to the wise, never buy a Bosch. You can't control your dishwasher manually and the app is completely unintuitive. if you have to Google “how to run a Rinse Cycle then the product (no manual rinse cycle), and the app are failures! Hint to the idiots in charge, a simple rinse pgm is a good under sink plumbing test. Or to quote my wife, "this is ridiculous". i’d pay to have this dishwasher hauled away and torched. I started working for computer companies fresh out of college 50 years ago so it isn’t because of some senior citizen computing phobia. It’s ill-conceived design and counter intuitive implementation.

A waste of money
I’ll never buy anything Bosch. Dishwasher doesn’t connect to my wi-fi. So the app is useless. Can’t change the cycles on my dishwasher manually. Tried using the app. The app is no go if you can’t get the dishwasher to connect to my router to be able to use the. So I can change the cycles. I shouldn’t have to use on app to change them.

Never connects
Been trying off and on for 2 years to connect our Bosch dishwasher to the app. Always hangs up at transferring the network info. Totally useless app and feature.

Die Startzeitvorwahl lässt sich nicht aktivieren. Die völlige Missachtung der Nutzerbedürfnisse ist schockierend. Ich hätte erwartet, dass die Anwendung genauso gut ist wie die Hardware. The marketing claim that Home Connect is compatible with Samsung SmartThings is wishful thinking. SmartThings can only turn the appliance on and off. The delay start function cannot be activated. The complete disregard for user needs is shocking. I would have expected the application to be as good as the hardware.
Boots you out of your account often
When you CAN access your appliance settings, this app is really helpful. But it boots you out all the time, and is beyond frustrating to get back into. Don’t bother, unless you really want to know how much rinse aid is still left.

Absurdly bad app
Have spent over an hour (THIS time)trying to reestablish connection after being randomly signed out/disconnected, it still won’t reconnect. Selected this model for certain features, but I would not have bought it had I known that some of those features could only be accessed by a wonky app. The appliance itself works fine but I don’t have time for this nonsense.
SW update forced app log out, wireless connection to my dishwasher not reliable
Latest SW update logged me out of the app, I need to reset my password to sign it again (worst app update experience); starting day 1 using this app, everyday, it takes a long while for my dishwasher to connect to this app - all my other wireless home appliances do not have this problem.
Fails a lot
I’ve had 3 service contractors come out to try and fix the dishwasher. They have replaced the controller, pump and who knows what else, and this dishwasher still fails to complete a cycle. Was a great fan of the dishwasher in the beginning , but now it’s a waste of space. Bosch schmosh, never again.

Delay start is cumbersome
Why on earth they removed the delay start button from the dishwasher and put it in an app is beyond me. It is so cumbersome and annoying. I don’t want to push several icons on my phone to delay start the dishwasher. Sometimes technology is not better
Dishes aren’t clean after app update.
I’ve been happy with my dishwasher since I bought it 10 months ago. I rarely use the app to set cycles and run it. Since the last app update my dishes stopped coming out clean. I went to the app to see if a setting changed or something. The app didn’t recognize my account or my dishwasher. It took several hours and multiple attempts to get the app to log into my account and connect to the product. I’m not pleased that a software update that I rarely need could render my $1000 product ineffective.
It’s bad. So bad. Like really bad.
Please understand that this app, in its current state, appears to be made by someone who has never used a dishwasher or smartphone. Please speak to customers before you build an app.

Bosch is pretty ridiculous, the dryer shows care. Manual says to select basic serttings which doesn’t exist. There’s no where in the app that starts this program.

The dishwasher will not allow me to connect. The racks are horrible and will not hold silverware. Horrible depot buy a Bosch.
Choice of cycles
Provide option to have only a crystal drying cycle, and a rinse + crystal dry cycle. In terms of providing these options in app it’s a matter of changing software so please give these options.
Dishwasher won’t connect
Literally touched my WiFi router to the device and the signal was reported as “Low”. Unit connects then disconnects and then times out. Lack of product testing from company is a big disappointment. Shame on Bosch developers.

Dishwasher refuses to stay connected to my 2.4 G wireless network. Reset dishwasher, redownloaded the app, flipped the breaker and nothing. Apparently they don’t QA their software, read the Reddit threads.

To connect the dishwasher to the app, I have to have my phone connected to our 2.4ghrz network, not the 5ghrz network. The dishwasher apparently can only see the 2.4ghrz networks. So that is fine. Easy enough to do.
But - if my phone switches our 5ghrz network and I try to open the app, the app will try to connect BUT fail. Even if I change the network on my phone back to the 2.4 ghrz network it can’t connect.
That sounds crazy. It’s as if my phone is trying to push out via Bluetooth, incompatible networking info to the dishwasher.
The only way to get the washer to reconnect is to remove the washer from the app the add it again.
It is not worth the effort.
I do realize that it could be dishwasher.

It finds it initially after I put in the model number, turn on the washer and then press the remote button on the washer for 5 or so seconds. But - the attempt to connect always has issues.
