I have been a member since 2017 and it was a great app when you could post for free or pay a monthly subscription for immediate listing but with the system that’s currently integrated that takes a chunk of you sales or you pay a flat fee upfront is just a scam. Go use the KitUp app instead it’s what HopUp was before they got greedy. On top of that your listing get flagged or account will randomly get banned do not waste your time with this app.
Won’t let me sell
I can’t put any listings up with out adding my debit card or my bank account and after I put in my details it told me to type in a verification code and I looked in my email tried to resend looked in my spam and the verification code won’t send anywhere and I can’t sell without it. Waste of time I can see why no one uses it
Great to Horrible
Used to be great. I’ve been using hopup for years and can only say it’s gone on a steep decline. The platform went from being able to freely sell, trade, and talk about airsoft. There was a 10% selling fee that was barely anything on smaller orders, and it was a good platform. I can say now that looking at the app, I can only see that it is pay to sell. You have the same 5 loonies trying to sell their stuff over and over again. Their orders “bump” to the top every day, which makes it near impossible for a new seller to try to sell their guns, and they rip off their buyers. I say a post one time that was from one of the top sellers that was a plastic springer that they painted black and were selling for $125. The app also has dozens of issues just trying to navigate through it. I can safely say that hopup has gone to garbage, and I’m sorry for any beginner airsofter who falls into the traps of the sellers on the marketplace, and who falls for the false truth that you can sell your guns on the app. It’s sad what this app has come to, and it’s disappointing

Yea no, who in their right mind would pay to list something they’re trying to sell. Only for it to be removed after 60 days. I’m good.
🚨 DONT USE THIS SITE 🚨
I’ve had NOTHING but issues with this site. The moderators flag every post I make for one reason or another making it practically impossible to actually get a listing up. And when you do manage to get a post through there is almost no serious buyers on this site. I’ve been semi consistently using this site since 2020 and it’s really unfortunate to see how it has ended up. If they just made it easier to post and let the mods take a back seat everyone’s life would be so much better.

This app has blocked multiple of my accounts for no apparent reason and definitely no reason given, The only one I can come up with is the fact that I’m not on it all the time. Seems pretty dumb to just block inactive users but maybe you have a another reason? Not sure but I have deleted the app.
App will cook your phone
This app needs some serious update. It’s the only app I have that eats battery and turns up the heat. My phone gets really hot while it’s running. Even if it’s the only app running. I’m worried about using it and it bricking my phone. KitUp is a much better app it just needs more users.

I downloaded this app and when I try to create an account it says “Account registration unavailable please try again later” is anybody getting this message when they try to make an account or does anybody know why this is happening?
Degenerate shoppers and lowballers
I tried listing products on here and if it ain’t users trying to lowball, it’s the window shopper asking questions such as “is this available?” When it’s clear in the listing’s description and refrain from asking if the answer is in the description. Stick to ebay.

Probably wouldn’t post on here again. :( Sold the item on eBay at a higher price than I listed it for on here. All contact on HU was a lowballer (25% offer) and four scammers. Waste of the $3 listing fee.
Customer service is horrible
I been waiting for a response from Hop Up to be able to transfer my money but they will not reply no matter how many messages i send them. My money is just sitting in my account. Only way to contact them is via email but take VERY LONG to reply.
Poor moderation and payout method.
Unmoderated sales/buyers has lead to a massive influx of people who are nearly insufferable to try and deal with, on top of a relatively flawed selling system that apparently requires someone to leave you a review to get paid for selling an item.
THE WORST APP IVE EVER USED AND GOT SCAMMED OUT OF MY MONEY BY APP AND SELLER
Heard from a friend about this app but this has go to be the worst, most frustrating app I’ve ever used. Bought a rifle and ended up getting complete garbage where the internals were taken out and was completely inoperable. Seller kept telling me he “didn’t know why it wasn’t working” and played dumb and tried to scam me out of my money and run away with it. Told the support service about the issue WITH PHOTO AND VIDEO EVIDENCE to back it up and got b.s robotic answers that had nothing to do with issue. They kept telling me to resolve the issue with the seller but obviously if I’m talking to support service then that means seller is no use. Returned rifle to seller the way he sent it to me to get my money back and seller damaged the rifle HIMSELF and sent photos to support service saying it was damaged on return in order to create a counter dispute to take my money! Support service hasn't emailed me in about 2 weeks so I basically got scammed out of a 600$ rifle from the app and the seller when all I was trying to do was use the app for its intended purpose. Literally insane. Will definitely take this up to higher authorities. DONT EVER USE THIS APP OR USE PAYPAL!! PAYPAL DOESN’T COVER AIRSOFT GUNS IF YOU GET SCAMMED. Would give this app a 0 if it allowed me to. Ridiculous
Prices are ridiculous and scams
I’m scrolling through this and I’m seeing 200$ rigs and like 400$ used guns that I could buy a brand new one and better for 350$ I believe that there are just little kids trying to sell guns for the original price or more thinking there gonna make a profit but they don’t know how selling used stuff works and the scams are even more ridiculous I tried to buy some gun for about 200$ and this guy didn’t want to pay through the app or PayPal….

Was looking for a nice place to sell some of my more expensive gear and figured Id try here since its an airsoft dedicated site. In order to put up a 60 day listing, which you have to wait for to be reviewed, it costs ~$10 upfront. OR you can go the route of paying afterward, however this takes %10 percent of what you sell it for, so if you even dare to try to sell something pricey that wont move quick or you want to get as much money out of it as possible this is definitely not the place.
Terrible Customer Service
I got scammed out of $540 even though I used the inbuilt payment option and the customer service couldn’t help at all, terrible app filled with scammers not worth it
Only gotten worse
Now, not only is the app full of scammers and fake sellers, now you have to pay HopUp just to even post. So not only do you have to worry about scammers ripping you off, poor quality service, bugs, and horrible customer service, now HopUp decides they might as well charge you just to use the app. Even more disappointed then when I first tried it.

Pretty much when you make a sale you lose %10 then you get charged 20-30 for shipping, then you have three days to ship it or they take %5 of the money you payed or sold something for and auto cancel your order. Steer clear from this website please. Unless you wanna lose money

Keeps blocking me for reason
I’ve been trying to buy a nice bundle of airsoft guns but every time i try and purchase it I’m my got declined and then I get blocked and support has not responded to me at all thanks for wasting my money
Used to be cool but super stingy now
HopUp used to be an actual good way to sell stuff, nowadays the owners are hella stingy, you HAVE to use them as a middleman for payouts (which still has a pretty crazy fee), if you choose to “openly” use PayPal/Venmo you have to pay a list fee, which is insane.
Luckily most people still end up using PayPal anyways so jokes on them 🤷♂️

I bought an item through this app and it wasn’t as advertised. Tried to use the “buyer guarantee” and no one reach out to me until 1 day before the windows for returns closed, ultimately my dispute was closed also. Complete scam.

Troubles
I can’t make an account and it said already in use and I have no clue what to do about it. And when I send a link to myself to reset the password it never sent.

Hopup was great when it first released, now they have made so many changes to benefit themselves that the consumers who actually use the app are the ones punished. There use to be so many people who would make personal sales. With the new set up, it’s basically a bunch of business selling on here. Nothing at all what it use to be, they made so many changes they just ruined their own creation.

Not only are 90% of the listings at a higher price than buying a brand new gun from evoke.com, some of the sellers don’t respond, have the listing complete to purchase through the app while trying to get you to pay outside of the app and void any security of purchase. I would stick with eBay or any other app. Stay away from this app unless you want to pay over brand new MSRP for a gun on top of paid shipping…

Whenever this app actually works, it’s decent, also this app is the home to scammers, the amount of scammers on this app is astronomical. This app always fails and gives me errors of many kinds, other than that, it’s ok to use. Please put some time into this app so it works

It’s kind of annoying being charged $8 for cancelling an order within minutes for “transaction processing” like what?! Nothing was transacted!

Scammers can reuse the same images that have already been posted and use the same description
People abuse the keyword function to spam all their own stuff into everyone’s search feed
Users hide in WTB posts to sell their own stuff
Recommendation- create a tag system that sorts items into specific tags- like #GBB #rifle #co2 #CQB #TokyoMarui to find exactly what you are looking for. Tags could be limited to 5 to avoid people including non related items.
