I’m extremely disappointed with this app. Hornet Live is full of fake profiles and obvious scammers, and it feels like the platform does little to nothing to regulate this. Moderation is either ineffective or practically nonexistent.
What’s even more concerning is how many users try to extract personal information - from social media accounts to more sensitive details. In some cases, that information can later be misused or even exposed.
This can be especially dangerous for guys living in Russia and nearby countries. Overall, the level of safety on this platform is very low, and using it just doesn’t feel secure.
I would not recommend it.

What an annoying app by exactly every 15 seconds ads , making new campaign to boycott this app and moving to other sophisticated apps like scruff, badoo…

Buggy and slow
Title says it all. This app is extremely buggy and slow and the iOS requirement is wayy too high requiring iOS 18 for this simple app is ridiculous.

I liked this app, but what's going on with my free space? Do you want to download all the ads available in the world to my phone? I don't plan to keep the phone only for this application, do something with the file size

This app is useless. It shows ads after ads after ads. You have to close the app and reopen it to get rid of them. And yeah too many fake profiles on here. Not recommended
Was gonna give 4 stars until I couldn’t log back in
I forgot my password and tried to make a new one using my email but for some reason the app didn’t recognize my email. Meanwhile I was get notifications sent to my email which I did use to make my account. I don’t know what went wrong but Hornet support team hasn’t gotten back to. I find this really suspicious that my photos are still on my account and I can’t get back in 😡😡

Privacy trap deleted
This app wants the use of so much personal data for so many advertisers (so called legitimate interest) and forces users to accept it by asking users to agree over and over. Trying to say you do not want them to use your data is impossible. I deleted the app. That is also good as most responses seem to be bots

This app is home to over a million chatbots. If you have the patience to get through them, there are scores of foreigners on the hunt for American husbands. The app also cannot decide whether it is social media or connections; you have a primary inbox and then some other inbox and either can have messages you may or may not know about but as you check them you are greeted with an ad every other message. This could be why the chatbots are deployed. Rather pathetic and if you expect it to deliver 😜 other ways 😜 the path through drivel is a loooooong road to ho.
Waste of time
Live in a metro of 4 million and had about 8 people within 100 miles. The adds are so so so very bad!! You have to sit through an add about ever 45 seconds or every dozen clicks. Why would I ever pay for premium when there are about 8 people near me before they are way to far away? Waste of time tbh.

This is the worse dating app you can download. You are constantly interrupted with advertisements and cannot enjoy this app. On top of the enormous amounts of advertisements you also get bombarded with bots that send you messages trying to scam you. This app does nothing to weed out and block bots but at the same time take away the enjoyment of reviewing profiles!

This is the number one gay website that is Phil with scammers. Has anybody else noticed that.

Been using for years. Recently the video ads are more frequent and have fake X marks so you cannot quit them. One ad took me to a website that loaded a JavaScript malware into my browser that loaded redirects to other sites whenever I used the browser. Lots of active users in Thailand but when I go home to USA I get contacted by fake profiles daily

The recent ads that completely block the screen are much worse than in the past; they totally disable the app. Come on, Hornet, you can do better than that. I’ve used this app for many years and actually met a few sincere friends this way. Please stop the full page ads.

This app is awful. It’s nothing but ads and they are the most annoying, irrelevant ads that I have ever seen. While many apps do that, Hornet is just absurd. I already deleted it after just a few days.

More cons than pros
I want to preface this by saying most gay apps are terrible, but this one in particular is probably the worst. First, there are too many ads. Second, the free version is very limited, and features that should be standard aren’t. Third, outdated interface, needs a dark mode for when using the app in the dark. And finally, the price is too high. The only positive is that outside of the US, it’s mildly popular, more so than Grindr, another terrible app.
