Not for casual user.
Don't fix what's not broken
The update in mid April 2025 ruined the user interface. I don't know what internals were touch as the numerics seem unchanged. The previous release gave the appearance of a real 12c. This latest release spread the keys proportionately far apart and the key "names" are much smaller. Who cares about rearranging everything in the portrait mode. It was fine the way it was. If the 15C emulator is change in this way then I will leave the update forever alone. This is a huge disappointment. I bought a new real 12c. It's quite fast but looks the same. That's called improved. I'll just put that in my pocket from now on and leave this emulator alone. Worse, the money calculations are incorrect. Verified with an original hp12c calculator, a new one today, and a Mathematica notebook. Even got the r same answers with another iPhone/iPad app. Very disappointed. I don't recommend this.
In decline
Don’t keep changing things
It used to work, but now it doesn’t
I used to use this all the time. But now the way it fits in the screen doesn’t show the whole keyboard making it impossible to use.

Major step backwards in design
Don't upgrade! This will destroy the entire reason you wanted to use a HP 12c. Note to HP, if this new design is so good, then offer BOTH the older version and the newer design, and measure how many HP-12c enthusiasts uninstall this new version and reinstall the old one.
That is a good way to test this new version statistically.
Again, have a "revert to old version" setting and measure how many people reinstall the older version, because it was so much more usable.

Layout
On portrait view, the “ENTER” key should be to the immediate left of the “0” key so that your finger memory can operate the same as in landscape view. As it is, I constantly pull up the Menu when trying to enter an entry. Frustrating and not intuitive.
Recent updates have ruined an all-time great
HP has new-Coked the 12C. It now is an unreadable UI mess. Revert!
Nope!
What have you done to my tried and true HP 12C? Why is there a comma where a period should appear?
Buttons don’t respond well
Please update the app so the buttons don’t have to be directly pressed… it should respond to touch much better than what it does currently.
Used to be a clone, but not anymore
This app used to distinguish itself from other 12C apps by looking precisely like the original calculator, which is why I was willing to pay $15 for it when others were cheaper or free. Some time ago, it was modified to be “more modern“ and now looks like complete garbage-it doesn’t even appear to be produced by HP. If it looked and functioned like it does now, I never would have purchased it. Please restore the original version, or at least make it an option. There’s a reason this particular calculator has stood the test of time.
CFO
I’ve been using the HP 12C for many years now for banking, real estate, and finance. I still have two units, but have been the using the app version exclusively. I liked having the simple version on the vertical screen, easy enough to rotate when other functions are needed. I give the previous version 5 stars. Is there a way to revert back?
HP 12 C
The key board no longer works well. No clock sound does not work. Vibration boxes not work either. A terrible UPDATE!
Needless Upgrade
Needless upgrade that set the app back. Key fidelity is compromised and registers do not reliably store numbers.
Keys don’t respond
Keys stick and are slow and don’t respond after recent update
Why change the format of the vertical screen?!?
The original format of the vertical screen was perfect. Why was it changed?
Recall
None of this is stored. The new software is horrible.
WAS Keeping the old version BUT automatically updated AGAINST MY WILL!
The developers FUBARed this version and are trying to CHARGE us $16.99 for the Platinum Version to get back what THEY SCREWED UP! NO WAY!!!!!!
I really don't like the placement of the Enter key in the portrait screen version of this update. I use the Enter key multiple times in some calculations, in the portrait view it needs to be where the R/S and Menu keys are located. I have NEVER used R/S or Menu, obiously the developer does not use their own App.

Flawed update
There are significant problems with the update. First problem is the display: 1,000.00 is shown as 1.000,00
Second problem: For years, I have entered numbers quickly to reconcile my checkbook or do higher level financial problems. With the new update, numbers are no longer consistently entered! I need to check the HP-12C’s displayed solution manually with pencil and paper. Now, I have to look at the display every time I enter a single number to make sure the calculator has entered it into its calculations. If you don’t tap exactly at the top half portion of a button, it does not get entered! Third problem: display window is too small. No longer a useful app for me. Please give us the option to have the previous version. I have stopped using the app on my iPhone and iPad.

Don’t care for recent upgrade.
I love hp12c calculator and was pleased to find there is an app for my iPad. However, there was a recent upgrade(?) that has changed the appearance of the display that I am very unhappy with. Previously the display on my iPad was just like the actual hp12c calculator I have owned for many years.
I would much prefer not to have the upgrade.
Update: I am amazed to have received a response to my comments about the hp12C app for iPads. And quite pleased with the suggestion that I install the 3.1.1 update which I have done. The 3.1.1 update has largely solved the issues I had. It’s a relief to have the hp12C app fixed.
Thanks for the quick response and for the 3.1.1 update.

New version poor
The old version looked and worked fine. New one is a mess. Commas and decimals are reversed, display no longer looks like a true 11c, now has display issues.
Update made it more difficult
For some reason, the keys are LESS sensitive and i need to be very careful to make sure that entries are as intended. VERY frustrating. Please fix.
HP 12c
The commas and decimals are flip-flopped and are in the wrong positions, i.e., 12,573.22 reads 12.573,22.
Updated version too small
I've used this calculator for years. The latest update expanded the keyboard and took away readability of the results area by shrinking the box. It is now almost impossible to see the difference between a comma and a decimal point.
