Hulu is terrible on all platforms and is not at all intuitive. We have the “with ads” and “plus Live TV” subscription, and I wonder if they’re just being jerks and trying to convince us to upgrade to “no ads” because they often show the same 3-4 commercials every break during a show or movie, and they almost always show 1-3 of those more than once. It’s pathetic and not entertaining, and it may cause us to switch to YouTube or something else.
The guide to what’s on live TV is horrible, especially for sports. With ESPN+ games included, the list of games on now or upcoming is too long, and it SHOULD show my favorites FIRST. OMG you really should consider your customers when designing your software because your current offering is embarrassing.

Come on, Hulu, do better. Don’t be so lazy while demanding more money for a mediocre-at-best product. Maybe hire quality software engineers and get rid of the pathetic programmers who made the current product.

Infuriating to use
The way it’s so easy to mistakenly tap another unrelated show while I’m already watching one is so irritating. This happens every time I use this app. Loading a video is a nightmare on top of accidentally tapping another video. I’m just over it. Please fix this.

The ads are out of control
For a paid service, the ads are completely out of control.
More than 50% content are ads..
Ads are currently 50% of the length of video- 10 minutes of ads for 20 minutes of content- and about 40% of content is intro recap and credits. That means for every 8 minutes of content you get 10 minutes of ads. Subscriptions should reflect that. My math says there needs to be a 70% discount for this to even be remotely worth it. What a scam.
Fire everyone
It's been at least 6 straight months and they haven't fixed the memory leak. 6 months?! Tubi works better. Free Tubi who must have much more limited resources works flawlessly. Matter of fact, EVERY SINGLE STREAMING APP works better. Fire the devs, the leads, the executives, the QA team if they even exist; they're all incompetent. How has this not been fixed yet? I'm paying almost $100/mo and I'm dealing with a STREAMING app that doesn't work. How hard is it to stream video? (it's not hard). Heads should roll at Hulu for how long this has gone on for

Login hell torture pain
Other apps can link your iPhone and Apple TV subscription with a QR code. This has no such functionality, and the cable tv geniuses at Hulu even disabled the remote keyboard functionality so you have no choice but to enter your long password on a left<->right scroller with EITHER capital or lower case letters and onshore keys even though both could easily fit. They could use this to extract confessions from POWs.
Also you’ll be using this interface a lot because Hulu likes to open and go blank or show the logo for hours so you constantly have to delete it and reinstall.
Apple should invent an app death penalty for this app. You don’t get to come back ever.

The worst UI
Why does the app tell me to “continue” show then when I select it I watch the ad only to find out it’s the wrong language. Get out select correct language watch ad again…. Why can’t I change language while watching the show? Do us all a favor and copy everything from netflix… the terrible UI makes me just want to pirate anything related to Hulu…

The app for the Apple TV is slooooow AF. I have 4 of the latest 4k, Ethernet Apple TVs on wired 5gig fiber connection. I’ve reset the Apple TV. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Pulling up the guide for live tv is super slow. As I’m writing this I’m staring at the spinning circle of death. Do better Disney!

I minimize the screen and mute it so I can do something else during the average advertisement for instance right this review

Why does Hulu exist. I hate you. I switched to pay for no adds and you still did it and every streaming service does it. Literally in one week I will discontinue.

This app is buns. Why does autoplay start playing random pilots of shows I’ve never watched after two episodes of what I’m watching. Whose idea was that. It makes the app unusable. Makes me want to cancel the whole thing. So dumb.

Broken App
Unable to pause on phone app. This is an issue that has persisted over years and multiple different phones. There is no button anywhere to report an issue with the app and phone calls with customer support in the past didn’t fix the issue. This is extremely frustrating and makes the app unusable.

I love the variety of content hulu has but it is so difficult to get into anything without being disrupted by an 2 minute ad ,what it feels line every 5 minutes. PLEASE hulu loosen up on the ads it is ruining the experience.

Can’t watch Hulu originals
I pay for the Hulu and Disney+ package and lately I have been unable to watch any Hulu originals on Disney+ because it pauses every 5 seconds and doesn’t play again unless I hit play again every 5 seconds. I decided to try watching Hulu originals on the Hulu app instead but when I log in it just says that I need to complete my subscription and won’t even let me access my account. Well if I try and complete my subscription it shows that I already pay for Disney+ and Hulu plus with no ads and there is no other option to fix it. I can’t access any Hulu originals right now at all and it’s been this way for months. I will be canceling my subscription if this doesn’t get resolved soon.

i’m only using hulu to watch a specific show and then cancel and why tf am i paying a monthly subscription for the same ads as cable. The ads are every 5-10 minutes and like 3 minutes long. Absolutely save your money and go elsewhere. Super disappointed in hulu
Hulu app is garbage
The Hulu app is glitchy and a majority of the time does not work properly. I have to frequently close out app and restart to get it to work. Even then it is a coin flip at best if it will work properly.

In the few years I’ve had the app, I can honestly say it is the worst performing app I have. Constant buffer and constantly saying an error happens and they apologize. Which is ridiculous because if they were really sorry they would fix the performance issues

Hulu keeps crashing every time I try to play the rookie on my smart tv. Tried to stream it via screen share to cast it to my tv using airplay. Show is blacked out and can’t watch my show on my TV anymore.

Impossible to separate out a Hulu account from Disney+ or Spotify
Trying to upgrade my Hulu account to no ads was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life and I’ve been through a lot. I will only ever keep a subscription when I want to watch a Hulu only show and then will delete my profile. I had to create a completely separate email address just to sign up for Hulu only with ads and not have it linked to Spotify or Disney+. I am also going to be canceling my Disney+ account

I understand that Hulu wants to incentivize add-ons, but for anyone who is on a budget, the length and persistence of the advertisements is just ridiculous.
I often find that after an episode, or maybe two, I become so frustrated with the CONSTANT loud and lengthy ads, I just use another streaming service.

How you greedy mofos gonna sit and run ads on the tv shows non live by the way attack on Titan ads family guy ads $18.99 plus tax for ad free and still have to watch ads anyways I remember when no ads ment no ads !!! You greedy mofos glad I was able to cancel before being charged as I just set up the account I will never ever use Hulu again.
