Racism. GenAI Usage
Started playing in 2021 for the art style, grew super attached to the characters. Fun to play with friends.
The recent use of GenAI and the ever-present racism is and was horribly disappointing and frankly just nasty.
And still NE refuses to take any sort of accountability. Its embarrassing.
It’s a bit delusional to think a billion dollar company will suddenly know to do better but I’ll hold out a bit of hope that my fav game for the past few years wont stay terrible.
Done with it til that happens.

So many people love this game and want to support this game but they have to stop the usage of ai

I have been playing since 2020 and regrettably I've spent $300 on the game over the years. I took a break from playing mid 2025 and somehow my account was hacked. Despite giving support dozens of receipts dating back to 2021 on both android and iOS they refuse to give me my account back. Spend your money at your own risk, account binds can be easily removed
Racism + AI usage
Stop whitewashing characters that are POC such as Ganji, William, and Patricia and stop using AI on character designs. Address these issues and fix it.

I lost my account even though i set it up with my X account i can't get in and customer service has not responded to me and i sent my email December 7th with proof it was my account.

They have a really racist cowboy skin that needs to be changed since it represents native Americans.
They are also extremely biased towards their asia servers. Which basically ruins all the other servers due to a HUGEEEE difference in rewards. Also, enchantress solos✌️✌️

I absolutely adore this game but the blatant disrespect for Joker Studios by laying off and using ai is terrible. NETEASE needs to do better, and they need to release a statement telling that they’ll abstain from ai and KEEP that promise.

The usage of blatant AI in their art and coding is disappointing and honestly just ridiculous. For a game whose fan base loves them quite literally for their art and skins it’s extremely annoying to see that same art fed into generative AI. I expected more from this company but again and again they’ve made multiple racist skins and whitewashed multiple colored skins like enchantress, with the inclusion of generative ai it’s just not a game I’d want to play at all.

To be perfectly honest this game is really fun but the ai usage needs to STOP if they don’t want to lose more and more players. They have yet to make an official statement on ai usage and the players will stop playing more and more till they address that there will be no ai usage in the future for art.

I love this game. The backstory and game play is so much fun but I deleted it because of they’re aggressive use of gen ai. If Net Ease gets rid of this or has an AI ban , I’d gladly redownload. But alas, money is money and net ease shows that it would rather cut corners and use this.
Can’t play as survivor
I literally can’t play as survivor when choosing survivor it out has the killer. I haven’t yet played as the survivor since the tutorial. Please fix this it’s taking the fun out the game for me

Identity V used to be a unique game with a beautiful art style and attention to detail. Each character had their own story to tell, each story differently unique. The skins were beautiful designed by talented HUMAN artists. Since then we’ve seen this game slowly deteriorate as Netease has turned to AI to cut costs of production. This has not gone unnoticed by its many loyal players across NA/EU servers. We may not be as impactful as the Asia server, but as loyal players I, and many others are severely disappointed and saddened by this lack of consideration for us, and the many, many talented artists Netease has fired. This game used to be an experience like no other, now it’s sloppy, repetitive and overall just disappointing.

this game was so fun until netease RUINED IT. the rank up system was changed, the usage of ai, THE RACISM, the horrible randoms because of the rank system being awful, AND the horribly, ridiculously expensive skins. WHY are limited skins 200-300 dollars? why are skins in the shop 20-50 dollars? i understand they are optional and do not really affect gameplay BUT it’s ridiculous. the gacha system is horrible. people that have been playing for YEARS will have at most have 3-4 s tiers including the FREE s tier you get from the story mode. sounds like a lot but when you think about it, it isnt. the RACISM and usage of AI are BIGGEST problems. ai is actively destroying our planet and taking all of our water. it started with the ai ads, THEN the ai skins. horrible. and the fact that they (netease) refuse to make a statement/stop using the ai is making it worse. the racist skins…… the getting rid of the POC CHARACTERS POC FEATURES. companies like netease will only cater to their racist disgusting audience. keep boycotting identity v / netease until they stop.

this game would be rated a lot higher if they didn’t use ai-generated “artwork”. it was disappointing to see this company abandon what amazing artwork they used to create. i used to enjoy when the artwork and content was designed very purposefully and soulfully by human artists- which is now unfortunately not the case. instead, your company has decided to use generative ai which not only harms the environment, but also sources/steals the art from human artists who do not consent to their artwork being shared or sourced from. it’s an incredibly immoral and lazy decision

For the last few months NetEase has been firing their artists, animators, writers, and programmers to be replaced with AI generation, and it’s all very clearly visible as in-game assets and writing - not even just in Identity V, but in other NetEase games as well. Despite several public demands for this to stop and for a statement on it to be dropped, fans have been ignored and even blocked by the social media pages! Several fans have boycotted and even quit playing altogether.
I wouldn’t recommend any new players to download and play until this is resolved - they clearly do not care for their fans and artists!

Usage of AI
Me and my friend have been longtime fans of Identity V. However, we have become immensely disappointed in NetEase for implementing AI in its game. There is no reason for them to turn to the usage of a generating software instead of paying the artists that they already have on their team. A big pulling point of Identity V is its unique art style, but that has been lost with the implementation of AI. It is extremely disgusting how this company is going to profit off of a software that steals art from humans who have to devote hours of their time to their craft. We demand that NetEase stops using AI to generate slop for their game and instead pays the deserving artists for their time and quality products. Again, this is extremely disappointing news to find out about this company, especially after playing this game for years.
Quit using ai and rehire your artist
I’ve been playing this game since around 2018. I’ve had so much fun and met so many people over the years through this game, including one of my closest friends and I’ve spend so much money on the game to so support and get skins that I could show off but after finding out that they were firing artist that have worked on the game for such a long time only to replace them with ai…I simply can’t support them anymore. A game were most of the players have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy skins, characters, and offline packages shouldn’t have to spend money on things that barely have any thought or creative care put into the making of these skins and characters. We, the community, should be more upset about this. One of my favorite things about this game was the beautiful art that used in events and promotional content. It was stunning and full of life and, most importantly, full of passion and creativity. I refuse to spend money or even continue playing a game that does not care about what the community thinks and until there is a significant change and the use of ai is COMPLETELY gone I will not be retuning to this game.
Disappointing racism and ai usage, FALSE ADVERTISING
I’ve loved this game for years but it’s sad to see the only few poc characters in the game get constantly whitewashed without any statement whatsoever. Not only racism but also the constant ai usage that the devs have been using after every update thinking we won’t find out. Firing your artists to use slop when your game used to have beautiful creative themes is so disappointing and hopefully you guys speak up about this.
