This is an imposter, not related to imo.im, don’t download - you’ll be scammed by $6.99. The idea is bluntly stupid, it just redirects you to iMessage when you hit “start chatting” button.

It doesn’t allow you to call some of the contacts you have on your phone I’m very disappointed. For one person I downloaded this app to call and it doesn’t allow me to call.

Downloaded to connect with my family, but the app bugs when I try to add a foreign number and don’t show any phone numbers outside of US.

I’m having issues with the app. Firstly, when I tried to use in-built support option, it is not active. As in I press on it and nothing happens.
And the main issue: the same is happening when I try to add a new contact with a Russian area code. Add button is inactive. When I look up my existing contacts, no contact with a Russian number come up, even though I have the app access to all contacts. I cannot invite those contacts either for the same reason.
This is extra frustrating for me, since the only reason I’ve downloaded and paid for the app, is to connect with my mom who has a Russian phone number.
Is this a policy / general settings thing that can’t be fixed? If so, I would be asking for my money back please.
If it’s not an intended behavior, which I’m hoping it’s not, I will be super grateful for your help to resolve this!

After logging into the app, it’s impossible to change the region, and therefore you can’t enter a phone number from any country other than the United States. Nothing helps.

It’s not the same imo that everyone else is using (which is free btw). The developer is different and it doesn’t allow to add any contact outside of US.

It appears to be a clone of the app, since it does not allow adding international numbers and does not recognize them. It’s impossible to call abroad or find contacts in the contact list if they have international numbers. I deleted it within 15 minutes after installing it. Please issue a refund.

What’s the point for the in-country messenger?
This “fabulous” app let me call to US contacts only. Support button is not working, developer’s website chat is silent, social network inquiries ignored. 100% scam! I need my $7 back!

I am having serious issues with the imo app when trying to connect with people internationally.
Both me (in the United States) and my friend (in Moscow / Italy) have installed imo, registered with our phone numbers, and added each other correctly in our phone contacts using the proper international formats (+1 and +7 / +39).
However, we cannot find each other inside the app at all. When I search for their number, nothing shows up. The same happens on their side.

Please fix contact synchronization and improve reliability for international users.

This is a complete SCAM. You buy the app expecting it to do what you actually paid for, but it only works with US contacts and only for users in the US. What is the point of this? Why is this not mentioned ANYWHERE at all? They market themselves as a messenger without limitations, which is clearly a lie. I will be reporting this to Apple and asking them to remove it as a scam

I bought this app and even can’t use my Russian phone number withUS Apple ID. So what’s the reason You v set the permanent country ? What I pay for? License which I can’t use?

I installed IMO for $6.99 because it was recommended for international communication. It works in Russia, Egypt , Italy and it works in US, but it did not work between countries. Profile/invite link doesn't open properly, and adding friends across region fails, so calling , messaging/messaging connection across US-

This is extremely misleading, and none of these cross-country restrictions are clearly disclosed on Apple Store page. It feels like a bait-and-switch and honestly look like the scam, especially when they say they are number one in smth. Please be transparent about regional limitations.

Doesn’t work as advertised. Didn’t even let me add a contact manually if outside the country.

Unusable app. Tried to install to communicate with relatives outside of USA, but app recognizes only us phone numbers. The option to add account manually is not disabled, but once you click on “add” nothing happens.
