After filling out my profile using their guided questionnaire, instead of searching for jobs related to my field (IT Security, IT Audit) the only jobs Indeed recommends in the entire United States are nurse practitioner roles and a flight instructor. Garbage app that should be removed from the App Store.

Pretty much every company on here trying to hire people is lousy a lot of the applications want you to work foot and nail for literally nothing per hour. Most of these jobs don’t seem real and the ones that are don’t pay well and the jobs that do pay well will never hire you regardless if you have the right qualifications. This indeed app is garbage!

Commute is broken
I know there probably hundreds of jobs in my area but i am only limited to a 15 minute commute and i am shown jobs too far for me to travel. No way to fix this either.

Their preferences sorting is a joke
They allow you to set preferences for types of jobs (ex. CDL) but then still don’t filter out those results. It’s getting ridiculous.

How the app works
It’s trash no matter what it only shows 1 type of job in the recommended or what ever also why you allowing companies to put there job offer in the entry level tab if they are going to put in the description must have experience you guys need to regulate your app more

This used to be my go to way to search for jobs in my area that are specific to what I’m looking for. The search doesn’t give any relevant jobs other than maybe the first two things that pop up the rest all seems to just be online Internet scams and fake remote jobs when that’s not even what I’m searching for. For example, I could search cosmetology positions available near me and it would bring up thousands of AI data training things or scam listings that say we’ll pay you through PayPal. And I know there are positions around my area that I’m looking for because when I go on something like zip recruiter or LinkedIn they’re all listed there and when I checked back to see if they were listing on indeed as well they are you just had to be so incredibly specific with your search.

The most random jobs not even pertaining to my field show up in my job search. Repetitive even when I remove them.
Borderline Useless
Want job suggestions that are 30 miles away even though you put your location in and specified you don’t want to travel? How about a trucking job or a registered nurse gig? because that’s all we got here!!! Wanna get your data stolen by ghost jobs and only get one real response out of the 30 jobs you applied for? Look no further than indeed! Everyone swears by it right? Called a business and told to apply on indeed? Guess what? They don’t even have a listing on it or you can’t find it either way completely useless! What about applying through indeed just to get an email that says you need to apply on their company site anyway? This is practically every job on indeed. So what is even the point? This app turns looking for a job into a full time job.
When did this app get terrible?
I’m back on looking for a job and jesussssss this app is a mess. None of my preferences seem to stick, the AI functions are useless, and it sometimes just doesn’t search. Ugh.

Horrible with Ai
You can’t submit an application until you opt in for the Ai resume suggestions which does not read resumes accurately so your resume is shared in an incorrectly format prompting you to manually adjust. It’s more work and very unnecessary.
Target Audience
Beware! Employers are now allowed to disregard any applicant based on race, education levels, and desired pay. If you’re not their desired race with the minimum amount of education you more than likely will be disregarded!

I have been using this app consistently for six years and I have never once gotten hired through it. This app is a complete waste of time. Just rejection after rejection in this awful job market

The have a hidden fees and overcharge
I made the post for three days, instead they had additional charges and hidden fees, when I try to call them, the phone number in the merchandise doesn’t work.

Shows nothing but bad job suggesting. You’ll ash them to “show all part time jobs nearby me” and it would literally show you jobs inna the next 40+ minutes away.

Not Effective Anymore
Indeed used to be great. With all the changes and fake jobs, I waste A LOT of time on this app. No matter what I search, a bunch of jobs that I’m not interested in or qualified for come up. When I “thumbs down” a job and update preferences, it changes nothing. I miss when the app told you when you last visited a job. I’m clicking on the same jobs over and over again. I’ve received a TON of spam job offers for companies and positions that don’t even exist. Not only that, but a lot of places will email me and then immediately delete the job post and a quick Google search shows no such place exists. It’s just frustrating now. Also, no matter how many times I put REMOTE ONLY, it keeps showing me jobs in my area. It’s a pain.
Wasted time, bad matches
1 star. Indeed rarely shows what I’m actually looking for. I search for part-time entry-level jobs and get listings that want 2+ years of experience or are way too far away. The filters don’t seem to work well, and it ends up wasting a lot of time. After 2+ years of effort using this app, it feels like that time went to waste.
Mostly ghost jobs
The majority of these postings are fabricated positions from companies not really looking to hire anyone. They’re just collecting your data. I’ve applied to plenty of jobs with relative experience and skillset only to be rejected. However months after rejection that same exact job position is still up.
Update Glitch
I can no longer open job listings that are bombarding my inbox every day. Instead, I click the link and it brings me to a cloudflare webpage, THAT NEVER LOADS. Ive given up. Indeed never works as intended. The AI hiring functions have made usability impossible, suddenly im not qualified for any job under the sun. I havent been hirdd after over a year of application after application.
Easily to navigate …. But
The app is great! Easy to navigate, user friendly! But the platform it’s self is garbage! Ive applied for over 300 job listings and have had 5-6 interviews! No job !
Trash Ai and trash search
trash, literally put in the same job title and a lot of them don’t show up and go on the company website and they’re all right there. Go on the page for the company website indeed it shows it’s there. Try to use the search. Bar doesn’t work doesn’t show good job shows other jobs that are not even remotely close to what I put.. plus the AI two still sucks so one star until you get your act together

This app is basically just a spam generator for your email. I applied to multiple entry level jobs and got absolutely nothing out of it, no real response, just more junk emails. A lot of the job listings also seem to have misleading or flat out inaccurate pay information, which makes the whole platform feel unreliable. If you’re actually trying to find a legit job, this isn’t the app for you.
Fake jobs
Over the last year and half to two years , indeed has got worse. Fake jobs are being posted to boost companies looking as though they are growing . Ghost jobs. Impersonal hiring process completing flooding their platform now days . Too many third party companies claiming to have knowledge in hiring “ the right candidate “. Employees are frustrated and employers are frustrated by your platform. So many people trying to apply and get offered the worst sub rate advice on how to tailor your resume so that “ keywords “ can help your resume be chosen . It’s become a joke . Employers are not the only ones looking for good candidates. Employees are also looking for. It seems very one sided and very impersonal. Do better. I’m deleted my account out of frustration and researched what was happening with indeed …. Sure enough , too many ghost jobs , inflated false fake job postings and third party automated hiring companies.
No longer intuitive
The most recent updates took a once simple and intuitive job search app into one that is unnecessarily complex. Worst part is it is missing jobs in my area when I use the search I have always entered for years when using this app.

This app used to be the best tool for finding new jobs that were tailored to you but after an update last year it hasn’t been the same and finding anything that you qualify for is impossible.

I went in thinking I’d find actual opportunities. What I got instead was two solid weeks of being ghosted into oblivion. Not a single meaningful response-just endless “applications submitted” confirmations that might as well say, “Thanks, we’ll be ignoring you indefinitely.” It’s almost impressive how efficiently it turns motivated people into exhausted, second-guessing messes.
Half the listings feel fake, outdated, or straight-up pointless. You jump through hoops-rewrite your resume, answer repetitive questions, fill out forms that ask the same thing five different ways-only for it to vanish into silence. No updates, no rejections, no human interaction whatsoever. Just you, staring at a screen, wondering why you even bothered.
And the mental toll? Brutal. Opening the app started to feel like volunteering for disappointment. Day after day of nothing chips away at you until you’re not even frustrated anymore-just numb. Two weeks of that, and it’s hard not to feel like the system is built to make you feel small.
At this point, it doesn’t feel like Indeed is helping people find jobs-it feels like it’s farming their time and patience while giving absolutely nothing back. If the goal was to drain confidence and waste hours of people’s lives, then congratulations, it’s wildly successful.
