Indeed is like finding a needle in a haystack. Save your time and apply directly on company websites. 90% of the jobs on my feed are jobs which i hold ZERO qualifications for. Medical jobs, Trade positions, educator positions, etc. These are jobs in which i have specifically requested not to be shown on indeed settings, because they are irrelevant to me and I don’t hold any certifications or licenses for these positions. Yet they continue to take up 90% of my entire feed. Save your time and apply directly on company websites. Not to mention the fact that most of the employers will never respond to your application. Also please STOP defaulting the search radius to 35 MILES. this app excels at showing you irrelevant information!

Indeed does not allow you to post your review of companies accurately and censors your speech. Also a lot of spam and ghost jobs. Wouldn’t use it if I didn’t have to.

Worse than worthless
The most frustrating part of Indeed is that there is essentially no way to stop it from pushing jobs you don’t care about. If you’re are looking for endless lists of commission based cold call sales jobs, indeed can find you millions of them. But if you are looking for salaried positions using your degree, it’s worthless. No matter how many ways I search, sales jobs keep filling up my feed. What indeed needs is the option to explicitly filter out jobs tagged for certain fields. I should be able to see a list of different major career sectors, and select which ones do and do not make sense. I should be able to filter out hourly and commission based work.
AI is ruining Indeed
It feels almost impossible to find a job on apps like Indeed right now, especially with the economy being so unstable and AI filtering through resumes before a real person ever sees them. There should be a required disclosure when employers are using AI to screen applications. I genuinely believe application rates would drop significantly if applicants knew their resume was being filtered by software before being reviewed by an actual employer.
Indeed also needs to hold employers more accountable. Applicants deserve transparency about whether a position is actively hiring, whether AI is being used, and whether their application is even being reviewed by a person. People are spending hours tailoring resumes and applying to jobs, and it feels unfair when the process is hidden, automated, or not even real.

Company is actively using dark patterns and preventing end users from accessing certain job listings. Active listings are not actually hiring, deceptive companies are attempting to post listings in order to take advantage of applicants.
I’ll update this if it ever changes, but somehow I doubt that.

Can’t leave honest review
I have tried to submit my reviews around 5 times or more already and they STILL get rejected. I write them very detailed and then put them through AI so that it polishes the review, makes it professional and I specifically ask to “help me make it comply with indeed’s policy”. Guess what? They STILL get rejected. This app is useless, honestly. I give up.
Nobody’s Hiring
It’s been months. Plenty of experience, jobs I am beyond qualified for, and yet it is rejection after rejection. Not just a few months… almost the whole year. Countless fake, spam job listings. Countless hours wasted. I am dying here. No exaggeration. Thanks for nothing.

Searches spammed with fake Jobs
I used to like Indeed, but recently my searched are spammed with various jobs that seem fake. Over 75% of the jobs I see when I search are CDL jobs and I’ve tried giving them a thumbs down and updating my preferences to hide trucking jobs but it has not worked. It’s become hard to find actual jobs in my area.

So now I have to rewrite the message again using the clumsy interface in this app.

Completely asinine
This app is completely useless and asinine. When I apply to a job it has my résumé auto fill everything. Despite some of my work experience as a content creator and streaming artist that does public speaking, a lot of my work experience is media. Despite it being media with links and details provided, it will not allow me to add it to an application because it says required fields are missing; but yet it allows this on my résumé. And while attempting to apply it is making it mandatory for me to remove my media from the application, therefore completely removing it from my résumé; completely an unnecessarily removing some of my work experience that is applicable to this position. The fact that I have to manually go find this posting by myself on their third-party site and apply just because indeed will not allow me to attach my media and my history is completely asinine and nothing but a waste of time insulting me and my work

This app is a waste of time. Waste of space in your phone doesn’t help you get any jobs. Shows you jobs 50 miles away from your house. Doesn’t even provide good paying jobs near me completely just terrible app no jobs near where I live not even to pay that I ask type in full-time. I got part-time jobs typed in part-time and got full-time jobs. If I could leave a zero star review, I would I hate that. I’m even leaving at one star view doesn’t even deserve a one star never never never never never download this app.
Search feature lacking
I find it odd that LinkedIn, which is decidedly not an app focused entirely on job seekers looking for new employment, has a more robust and “USEFUL” search feature than Indeed here. I’m pretty sure the difference is due to Indeed likely trying to force their users to use their AI. Scrap it! I just want to search for jobs relevant to my search keywords, posted within the last 24 hours, located local to me OR elsewhere but allowing remote work. I don’t care about your “career scout.”

I’ve been using this app for two years now, and after 100+ applications i only got maybe 3 responses, horrible app, use ziprecruiter

This app used to be great. But within the past year, it’s garbage. Job searches saying there’s way more new jobs than actually posted, search results aren’t accurate, and way more spam job than ever.
App doesn’t work anymore it’s probably more to get your data
Why am I seeing job post from people that require some sort of training or certification when I search jobs under entry level i can’t say I’ve ever even got an interview using this app and on top why do I have to add a cover letter just to add a food handlers card or resume

If I have learned anything from these apps, if you actually want a job find a listing. Close this terrible app, go to the jobs website and put in an application there. I’ve been putting apps in for months through this app without even a phone call or email back. I’ve been putting in applications for two days the way I just explained and I have 2 interviews now. These apps should be banned and sued to oblivion for absolutely wasting peoples time like this. Hope this helps.

Can’t update the app because my iPad is older. Can’t afford a new device because I don’t have a job. Vicious cycle, thanks but no thanks. Thanks for making finding a job more difficult and stressful.
Misleading Information
I’ve noticed many jobs that are advertised will say they are full-time or pay a certain amount per hour, but then when you go in for an interview, the company will say oh no it’s only part-time and it’s less than what is stated on Indeed.

Companies don’t even know about the open positions indeed lists I have been using this app for the past 8 months and not only does it completely ignore the type of jobs you have listed your looking for but it doesn’t even list open positions everyhrinf about indeed is straight BS I’m bouta be unemployed my entire life because of this abomination app.
Worthless
I got a job elsewhere super fast. Been using Indeed for 3+ years and not 1 job offer only a few interviews but no hire even though I did great in those interviews they askedfor experience not even mentioned in their writeup on Indeed such as my last interview parking big work trucks in the dark in the parking spots in front of their store, they never mentioned this until the end of my interview and it was a warehouse forklift job with ice pack unloading out of vans as well which was fine and I knew that before but not the trucks backing them up in the pitch black no lights so they needed soneone with really good truck driving experience, such a joke. P.S. I decided to delete my account as this is worthless, I got a no interview job on a main website in littoral minutes, I think job applying is beyond corrupt anymore and nuts, glad I have a higher IQ and know of ways around this junk.
No Tech Support
Indeed app continues to get worse with each update. Now changing and or deleting saved job searches. Who wants to check each time you search to verify that your parameters haven’t been changed. LinkedIn doesn’t do this. And why is this only happening on the app. Website works fine.

This app used to actually help you find a job now you run into more fake jobs than anything or jobs that want you to go around knocking on door-to-door you upload your résumé. They don’t show you nothing else that is hiring but the fields that’s on your résumé, which don’t make sense. And the jobs they do show that’s in my field order not hiring or they wasn’t a real job to begin with this new update on this app is a waste of time. And now they want to insert AI with certain stuff we don’t need that. ,

genuinely one of the worst apps for job seeking, i’ve tried all other resources and platforms for job seeking and they’re all worse than this so this is my main problem, job listings will be up and open for anyone and in my personal experience you have to lie about your resume if you even want to have a chance at getting hired, even when the job has little to no requirements because the app will ask if you if you meet the requirements, the ui is almost completely unbearable and the ai doesn’t help a single bit, aside from those the job recommendations are not relevant to my interests/experience/preferences, no matter how much i update my job preferences and set filters and search i still get recommendations for things i wont be able to do, such as driving with a cdl when i opt out for cdl driving positions

Please stop showing me nursing and cdl jobs. Indeed keep showing me jobs I have no type of experience or never even searched. I am not a nurse or cdl driver nor do I have the qualifications. App is not better
The job searches on here sucks!!! Indeed is not what it was 15 years ago! I downloaded the app to have the ability to save the jobs that fit, but the quality of jobs is not the same. Indeed has lost me as a user. This website is not what it was and has got worse over the last 5 years alone. The fact I can’t fully trust this website to push my applications through to the employers. If you’re not going to submit our applications, why are you wasting people’s time? What gives Indeed the idea it’s okay to do that to people?
