The notification badge has been there for ages, and you still haven’t fixed this simple issue. It’s unbelievable that you’re still shipping an app with bugs like this.
The app concept is great but people suck
The app is great per se, being able to meet people and learn languages is great but the problem is the people, using fake EVERYTHING I don't know why, I don't know what's the point of being fake but that's what ruin this whole app unfortunately, the fact that people has a fast track to be fake and mediocre is insane to me. I have been using it for a month and I haven't met ANYBODY genuine whatsoever. It sucks, such a waste of time and energy. There is also a lot of creeps, pervs, incels, just miserable men. Nobody is serious for any type of conversation, no language learning nor cultural exchange. Nothing. It sucks.

Used to be good
I have been on it since 2013 and back then it was filled with mostly real people and interesting conversations. Now the app is clunky, filled with bugs, rampant with scam and fake accounts and the auto moderation system suspends real accounts whilst it allows the scams to go unabated.
This place has potential and it used to shine as a way to meet people from around the world and learn language, but it falls short of the standard now and has for years. What a shame.

Scammer heaven
If you are trying to find legitimate people to just be friends, this is not the site. It is filled with scammers using other people’s pictures. Beware
Sucks
It used to be a great website/app. Now you get suspended for no reason. Created two accounts, suspended on first day each by auto mode “spam” which is absurd

How’s it possible to create an account when it gets suspended 5 minutes later for NO reason???

Fix the critical bug
I’m an app developer so I know what terrible UX is. After you guys added the dark mode support, the app no longer responds correctly when I click profiles, so I can’t open most of the profiles within the app. I must at least visit other people’s profiles, but that main feature is not working. Please review your app before you actually submit the new version.
I’d give Interpals a D -
No longer functional. Allows me to log in but the page does not fully open and I can’t see or send any messages. It was always a bit clunky but now doesn’t work at all. I’ve sent their customer support 3 emails without the courtesy of any reply. My advice - Stay away from this disaster of an app and website.
Worst moderation system/team
Moderation is automatic with nearly no way to appeal. Site is now littered with scammers and it’s just getting worse over the years

I used to use this app a lot, but at some point in the past few months the app stopped working completely. The app can still be opened, but nothing tends to load. It’s a shame because I made a few connections on here that I’ll never be able to recover as we didn’t exchange socials

It won't let me get past the add a photo thing in the signup. Yet I have notifications coming in.

The app is so laggy and buggy. I can’t even add pictures or search things on the app. Also it won’t let me change my pfp, it frequently crashes and glitches. Don’t get it. Did this app die?
Besides all of the technical issues causing almost nothing to work (even on the website version), now I can’t even load my account. It just says “we’re sorry, something went wrong.” On any page I attempt to click on.
I’m so bummed because I’ve used this app despite all of its issues for a wild amount of years. I hope you guys finally take the time to make this app worth using.

You can meet some good people and have valuable language exchanges but you’re constantly sifting through creepy conversations and the app is so glitchy.. it hasn’t let me use it at all lately

To many people soliciting
This app has the potential to be good but several times a day I get messages inviting me to chat off the platform by scammers and people trying to sell you something. Not many people are genuinely interested in learning new languages or making friends.
Doesn’t work
Can’t get past the profile creation stage. Just asks for a photo, I upload one, it thinks, and then asks me to do it again.
Unable to create a profile
I tried to create a profile to meet friends in other countries, perhaps learn a new language. But on both my emails (I had to try a 2nd time to to involuntary deactivation) it was flagged and closed. Why?! I’m legit!
Scammer Friendly App
If you are a scammer then this is the app for you. If you’re a genuine user then stay away. The vast majority of users on this site are scammers. These scammers employ various strategies including phishing, identity theft, money draining schemes etc. Not only does the app take no action to provide better security they actually encourage scammers. I guess having a large number of users boosts their stats, even if these users are fake. I reported on scammers to the site moderators and received a warning message saying that I need to stop reporting and soon after my account was deleted. Yes, you read it correct, my genuine account was deleted for reporting scammers. Going through other reviews of the site here I see this is a common occurrence and others have faced it too. The site actively encourages scammers by deleting accounts of genuine user who report on them. Stay away
Would not let me create an account
App would not let me create account, wouldn’t let me log in with my Facebook account and got my birthday wrong. I’m disappointed by this.

This app is so terrible I downloaded ever, I’m trying to delete my account but not possible before 7 days.!!! It’s been even 7 days cannot delete an account! What kind of terrible app is that?
Terrible app and glitchy
I had this app for only 4 days before getting suspended for absolutely nothing. when I emailed support requesting reinstatement they told me I broke terms of service and was permanently banned. I have no idea how since all I did was upload a profile pic and have some nice conversations I wasn’t able to finish. Lots of scammers and bots on this app but they suspend the real people looking for friends. The app is glitchy. It freezes often and action buttons need clicked multiple times to even work. Almost unusable. Don’t waste your time.
Ruined
Well, the community was ok until i saw all the islamic posts about palestine and Israel and other stuff, then half the posts were pervs who posted themselves half nude, and a bunch of dudes shirtless or weirdos complaining about girls, this app isnt good for learning a language and its just creepy, i went to delete my account and they make you wait a week or so before they let you, creeps!
Don’t download this app
First of all, this app won’t let me delete my pics or the app. Apparently I have to wait 7 days. That alone is reason enough.

I was blocked because of an error. I wrote to my friend, whom I know in real life, "hello my horny girl. My tiger girl, rrrrr" it was a joke and I can't demote your decision in any way.
Fix your servers
Many many times I’ve had to make a new account. Randomly getting suspended and logged out. Even if the account was brand new. You can try and appeal the suspension. Yet no one will look at the claims. And your account is likely to never be active again. Multiple people have had this happen. And have complained. Nothing gets done and nothing changes. It’s a great platform for meeting people. Just keep updating your platform. Look at reviews. Fix the d@mn problems
Perverts
I got this app to meet new friends around the world, and all I got was perverts and fake accounts. They always wanted me to download another platform to talk on, claiming it would be private. The men asked sexual questions and it truly just make my skin crawl. Bad thing is, when you join, you can’t cancel your account for 7 days. And reaching out to tech support was just as bad. They suspended my account for reporting the men on the site. They claimed that I had inappropriate behavior. HUH!!!!! All I had was a profile picture. So now, I’m blocked out of that account and I can’t go back to delete my picture or information. Truthfully, I didn’t know there were that many sick and twisted men out there. This was an eye opener for me. But I would like them to give me back access to delete my personal information and picture. Like I said, good idea, poor execution.
Messed up
First it says your password is wrong so I changed it 3 times then it went to the next page and keeps saying I need to pick at least one language. Well I already did 3 x so it will not continue. I will be deleting this app
Not a good start.
Just downloaded the app. When I was in the middle of filling out my info it booted me for suspicious activity. Never finished filling the info out so never got to experience the app whatsoever.
Nobody wants to be friends
Seriously I’m not sure why people even get this app but I have to message hundreds of people to find even one that answers and talks to me for more than like a few messages

The latest iteration is unable to share my limited shared pictures in DM’s and the app keeps closing as I’m typing a message. Who coded this?

Miserable interface
This is one of the most annoying apps and webpages I’ve ever used. Between zooming and scrolling and getting stuck in text boxes and no words appearing in some received messages.. and no matter how many times I turn the notifications off, bc it bothers my ocd, they keep notifying me. You don’t touch a message it opens anyway.

I’ve been on this site for close to 10 years now and was thrilled to find there was finally a mobile app. Unfortunately it’s plagued by constant pop up notifications of profile views keeping the app from being functional, as well as messages not being marked as read. It has potential to be a great app and serve the same purpose as the desktop site. I think if the developers listen to the feedback from legit users it could be great.
Great potential - serious bugs
This app has been around long enough to fix the serious bugs that plague it. Lately, the worst being that randomly I can no longer reply to anyone. But also, random crashes, crashes when I click on messages of a deleted user, or freezing when someone new messages me or views my profile. It has great potential and I’m glad it’s free but I really can’t understand the long lasting issues
