Update needed
You shouldn’t have to have your location set to “Always On” to track trips. It should work when you have the app open. It’s unnecessary to always have your phone pulling data/location even when you’re not using the app. As a small business owner I don’t even bother tracking my trips anymore because it’s annoying turning the location on and off constantly.

My biggest complaint about QuickBooks online is that it will not pass along fees to customers who want to use credit cards. Also, they have added a 1% fee for customers who pay by E check this is also not able to be passed along.Oddly, fees for ACH payments will be passed along to the customer.

FIND A BETTER OPTION
I have been using quick books for over two years and It’s time to switch! Far to often things get added and removed from the app and you lose all your business data. Sometimes estimates and invoices disappear and then re appear hours later. Half the time something in the app doesn’t work and there are constant updates that fix one issue and create another. I would recommend finding a better software solution for your business. I will be looking into better options, quickbooks is great when it works and a major headache when it often does not work.

Written for Unusability
This app has been written by cut-rate developers who have never taken a UI/UX class. They clearly also never test their product because it continually fails and is terribly clunky.
Intuit is a company in the business of keeping itself alive by making the tax code and the business of accounting unnecessarily complicated.

You guys should be worried
I’ve been using the app for a few months. Felt not great when I used it for the first time, but still spent quite some time learning to use this app. However, the experience just kept getting worse, probably my least favorite app so far.

Steep downhill ride
It’s truly impressive they managed to find a way to make one of the worst apps I’ve ever used worse, by adding AI and shifting to be the primary way to use the app.
Dump the AI, shift the processing to on device so everything doesn’t take five seconds to load, and you might actually have a functional service.

Terrible User Experience
Bloated log in process. Always hangs up and gets stuck trying to log in. And the app logs you out automatically every time you close the app. If you want to snap an image for a single receipt, you have to try to log in. It usually takes two to three attempts to work. It used to be super easy. Log in once, open the app, snap a pic of the receipt and you’re done. Also, now you have to wait while the receipts upload and if you try to exit the app or go to a different page in the app, it cancels the upload. Before it would do this in the background. The app sucks for being quick and productive.

What happened to this app
Seriously insane loading times. I’ve been using this app for years and have just had to get used to it taking 10+ min to load or loading indefinitely. Some combination of coding the app and reloading will often fix it. I have tried reinstalling multiple times to no avail. I just don’t understand. I lived in this app as a small business owner and lately it has become the most frustrating app I use.

Don’t do it

This app needs a complete overhaul without ruining how my information is categorized. I can not depend on the information in this app compared to online. Yet here we are with no option but to pay a monthly fee. Glad to be your servant.
I don’t know why Quickbooks responds with canned messages because they don’t fix the issue. Spend the time on the app so I can access all of my information not receive errors all the time requiring me to use the computer. What a waste of time and effort.
Update after their response: I can say with 100% certainty that I have exhausted all troubleshooting options before submitting this lengthy review. I don’t know how many times someone can uninstall and reinstall an app in hopes that things will change.
After update: you are ruining the customer experience with every update. Now I have to sign into the app every time but entering my credentials. Face ID don’t work. I can’t open invoices. What the heck is going on over there???

Bad business
This company used to be really good to use. Now they do not have good customer service, half of them don’t know what to do to help you with your account. By the time you get to work it’s someone that does know what’s going on, it’s already been an hour and a half of repeating yourself. I paid for the premium payroll service for next day contractor payments. After pay for the high pricing and making payroll payments for 3 weeks, they decided to change my payroll services from next day to a five day waiting period. The software for accounting is ok but the customer service is garbage.

Lost all my tax data for 2025
Worst program ever. Impossible to reach customer support. When you do finally get someone your sent in a giant rabbit hole. They claim the fixed the glitch but my data is no where to be found. They refuse to give me a refund since it’s billed through Apple. Apple only gave me 2 months and said go back to intuit. Intuit says go back to Apple . The worst!!

QuickBooks Terrible
Change menu items and ways to do things every 3-6 months and make it super difficult to get money out of system. Spent an hour this morning trying and NONE of the “help” options were even remotely helpful, including phone call. “Extended wait times” due to terrible app and service. Guess when you get the “namebrand” advantage, you can screw up all you want. It will eventually catch up to them as I’m going elsewhere after 2 years of this mess!!

It’s seems I’m not the only one unable able to complete basic actions like logging in. Then after retrying 3-4 times, I get the infamous “trouble loading page, please try again. This has happened more times than not days apart and it’s pointless to even have downloaded the app. I’ve done all the developer suggestions mentioned in other responses and still the same. Instead focusing on ai, please get back to user experience. We are telling you the problems, please focus on the solutions!

Fees for nothing, ads everywhere
They charge fees even for direct debit payments, partner with SecurityMetrics for PCI compliance which sure seems like a scam but definitely costs more to process cards than any other POS software with that annual mandatory additional fee taken into account, on desktop the functions you pay for barely work because the site is too busy trying to sell you other products (that likely also don’t work). The desktop and mobile interfaces are sloppy and counter intuitive, support is non-existent and the only reason I’d say “use this” is because they seem to have a monopoly so it’s the only option.

Garbage customer support
Every time something breaks I have to figure it out on my own. Their support has not once been able to help me solve a problem. My favorite is trying to sign in and it shows my business but either won’t log in or just goes to an introductory screen and I have to close it and try again. Now my card reader just stopped working. I need it to do the most simplest of things. Invoice and pay and it’s just always things I have to figure out to work around issues bc again their support is the lowest of the low. I’m defeated by this company really. The user interface is annoying as well.

So disappointed
I thought this app for a few years, and I’ve been fairly happy with it. This year, however they’re not transparent, hiding a lot of things meaning you can’t see the forms filled out. The most disappointing thing is that they are now asking me hundred dollars for state and federal, when I’ve paid for TurboTax via the app this entire I called to get a service code, which was promised within 24 hours. So far nothing. I will probably not continue using this app, and find a professional that will help me through this.

Poor customer support
I’ve been using QBO for 3 years now for two businesses. Quickbooks have prioritized profit over quality. Problems are addressed by incompetent staff members, escaped cases are simply ignored.
If you can avoid it, do so. There are very good alternatives out there. I have switched to Xero myself.

Changing constantly… for the worse
Making significant interface changes to a critical business tool should never be done lightly. Intuit didn’t get that memo, and seems to think it’s ok to spring surprise (and major) changes without any warning. The need to hunt for things I need is fine once in a while, but not on a regular basis. This latest update stripped out only unimportant things like, eh… QuickBooks Checking. Need access? Sorry… not today.
Time to replace the person approving this garbage. Focus on making everything work, and not on forcing users to relearn how to find everything again.
Oh well. I’m off to the website to do the basic banking tasks that I was able to do in the app until the update. Waste of time.

Honestly terrible…
QuickBooks loves to log you out right after you finish writing a four page estimate. They love to tell you you broke the character Max but there’s nothing that says you went over until you try and hit save and it just errors out and you lose your whole four page estimate and have to redo it. So many bugs and glitches it’s not even worth hassling with.
I’ve been using this app for two years and not because I want to, but because they’re pretty much the only business that does everything at once, but they charge a hefty premium. Cheers to $200,000 in QuickBooks fees for one singular year.

Bad update
Current update has many glitches. Gives constant error messages regarding permissions, when nothing has changed from the admin standpoint. Every transaction has an error that makes it appear as if the card didn’t go through, but refreshing the transaction list shows that it did.

Never works
This app is so bad!! Quickbooks wants to raise their prices constantly, but they can’t even make a functioning mobile app. I have to login 3-4 times before it will ever open my account. Then I just want to upload a receipt, and it can’t even do that! The app crashes every time I try to use it. And if I get it to take a picture of a receipt, it always fails to upload the receipt. I’ve never tried any other functions of the app, i just want it to upload receipts. Please use some of the money you charge me every month to make a better app!!!

Went for the worst
Whoever is running intuit needs better understanding in who to hire. I use QB online and they have made estimating horrible. It’s getting worse. Yall need to change things soon or risk losing a lot of clients.
I highly unset I can’t use the down arrow to select a customer after make a copy of my estimate. It’s forcing me to add a new customer instead of having the option to select a previous customer. Things like this is what’s there coders and programmers need to learner if they want to help QB be better. At this point I’m ready to jump ship and would not recommend QB to new businesses.

Please fix the mileage tracker and login process.
App was great. Used it for years. 6 months ago your updates caused the mileage tracker to drop in reliability sporadically. Even with the little blue triangle on the phone sometimes it won’t record trips. I now have to check every day to make sure it is recording trips. Lost an entire month in 2025, lost two weeks in March of this year. Super frustrating for something that was working fine and did not need modification. Fix that and fix whatever this nonsense with having to login multiple times just to get connected and constantly being logged out and the app will go back to five stars.

It keeps getting worse & worse. I have to login each time, multiple times because it fails (face recognition used to work, we've gone backwards). The menu changes to where I can't find what I'm looking for. For the monthly price, I'd expect a much better functioning app. Had I had these issues years ago when I started with QuickBooks, I would have left immediately. The frustration is not worth it.
