Terrible customer service
I have used this app for years and also purchased the unlimited version. But as of 2 months ago I can no longer print or email any invoices/ estimates to my clients. All I get is an error message. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app a dozen times now and it’s the same thing everytime. I’ve reached out to customer service a few times now and all they say is the back end is looking at it. now they won’t even respond to me. It’s been over 2 months now

This doesn’t need to be a subscription in the first place. It’s a static tool. They already try and push you to use their billing services and take a cut. Now they’re pushing the subscription tiers by reducing offered services to existing users. Slimy.

What ever you do don’t buy the Invoice Simple. I’ve given them more then a month to fix an issue & it still hasn’t been fixed.
They don’t have any back end support. Which means if you have a problem they have no way to fix it. I’ve had the app since 2018. Running 2 companies with it. Recently I had multiple problems with it over a several week period. I made them aware of it with over a dozen emails and they are not getting it fixed. I can’t download invoices. So that means I can’t bill clients. In some cases I will do an estimate, beginning to end & it will completely disappear. There are many business apps out there. Don’t buy into their advertising & marketing. You will find yourself with a customer data base that you can’t do anything with years down the road.

Charged me $199.00 and never activated my account again.
Be careful with this company when they renew your membership, they charge you $200 and then the system will never let you create an invoice without upgrading. There’s no need to upgrade. I just paid you. I had talked to Customer Service and they have given me no answers. I am still without $200 and just basically communicating with AI. Buyer beware.

The new upgrade system is fatally words
I was happy with this app, but after using the app more often the system decided to selling me the upgrade plan with out choice,the team can evenly leave me with the plus plan i have before they say the system is set up to collect more money 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Keeps saying I have 0 invoices left
This used to be a great app until they did something in the backend because now I constantly keep getting a message that I have 0 invoices left when I pay monthly for unlimited. Keep in mind I pay for 2 accounts because I have 2 shops and each time they want me to delete and uninstall to fix. It has been so constant that I am ending my subscription and will warn others to not download. Shame because it was good for years.

I would not recommend this product they continue to increase the price or try to fire you to go premium by limiting how many invoices you can make. They are now going up to almost $15 from $10 and it’s simply not worth it. The greed has become unbearable. I canceled my subscription.

Incompetent
The old crew is incompetent. The IT is incompetent. They wrote an app without knowing how to write an app. Nothing is friendly. The crew doesn’t know how to fix their own issues. It looks like they created this app in an AI app. They don’t take any criticism or suggestion. It’s like talking to a piece of wall.
Not So Simple
This won't let me create an invoice using just the client's name, email and phone number. It wants an address more, but still won't create the new client for me within the phone app. Incredibly irritating.
The worst app I’ve ever used.
The invoicing process is actually simple, but they charge outrageous fees and they hold your money hostage for way too long, which is really bad for business. I’d use literally anyone else and if you see this app run the other way.

I’m not paying your increased price. That’s an additional $132 a year. No thanks.
App glitch
Decent app until… The AI features were great until the invoicing AI went away. The very large issue with this app is that I have many google reviews stuck within the app and will not transfer over to my google business. As any small businesses owners know, these reviews are hard to get and play a critical roll in business. I have contacted customer support for many weeks and they still have not replied with a fix.
Price keeps increasing
I was father in this app like 5-6 years ago and honestly I’m not the type to write reviews, but I used to pay $4.99 then it went up to $10.99, which is fine but now they changed to still $10.99 but your limited on invoicing and if you want all the perks you had back than you have to upgrade to premium which is $20.99. I think that’s crazy upcharging me for things that I had before this app has gotten really greedy, and for that a one star review and I will be looking at another app to use.
Used to love this app
I used this app for years….. till the price got too high. I only send maybe 5-10 invoices a month and paying up to $150 year makes the invoice too expensive to make it worth the cost. I wish they had kept it simple when I first used it and it cost $50 or less a year. This is really ment for large business not the small occasional labor job I do.

Gotten unrealistic expensive. If your paid through there invoice it takes days get the money and the fees are crazy.

Worst, non-existent customer service
They tried to convince me I was on the “old version”. Nope, I just installed 2days ago. But, humored them. Reinstalled. Invoices are STILL defaulting to another country. When customers try to pay the incorrect invoice, they end up in a never ending loop. They don’t n notice that the flag is Great Britian instead of the US. They tried to convince me it was my bank card. Not. I used cards from 3 different banks. They couldn’t even figure out this problem. I had to point it out. They tried to convince me I had my settings wrong. Nope. Sent MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE screenshots of EVERY PLACE that was relevant. They tried to convince me it was my PayPal settings. Nope. Sent MULTIPLE screenshots proving otherwise. I even proved that it is on their actual platform where this is occurring. Soooo…they “escalated “ it. Promised to hear back within 1-2 days, but often sooner. Nope. Been more than 2 days. You can’t talk to anyone and their chat is broken. Everyone I type a reply, the text box doesn’t clear. You have to BACSOACE and clear the text box YOURSELF. Their platform is so broken.

Scam and liars
Avoid this platform. They will refund and give back money to customers. On the 13.99 they give you 10 invoice per month then you have to pay for more. Not to mention taking a percentage of each invoice and they’re also taking another percentage just to transfer it to your bank immediately and then they’re making another transaction from stripe or PayPal to your bank account so you’ll be hit with three different transaction fees.

They started off good but now they’re increasing prices for no reason and putting payment options on my invoice that I don’t offer to try to get me to pay them more money. There is no way to contact them about it. I have tried and they don’t respond.
Slow
You receive a payment then it takes 3-5 days to clear in the app. Then once it clear’s you have to wait another 2-3 business days. Yes it’s free but that’s exactly it, you get what you pay for. Stating 01/01/2026 I’ll be using a new app even if I have to pay.

The moment I accepted my first payment through their built-in payment processing, everything went wrong.
A single $1,500 invoice ended up costing me almost $150 in fees - and my customer was double-charged on their card too. I was hit with four separate charges on the same transaction (processing fee, service fee, “platform” fee, and some other mystery charge). That’s a 10% bite out of one job.
They advertise this as “small-business friendly” and “simple, low-cost payments,” but 10% on every transaction is absolutely predatory for freelancers, contractors, and small businesses who already run on thin margins. Stripe, Square, PayPal - literally every other processor - charges 2.9% + $0.30 or less. Invoice Simple is ripping people off and hiding it behind multiple stacked fees.
If you only need to create and email/pdf invoices that get paid outside the app, it’s okay. The second you turn on their payment processing, run away. There are dozens of better, truly affordable options that won’t punish you for getting paid.
Small business owners: do not make the same mistake I did. Look elsewhere for payment processing.

Not business friendly
In regards to the app itself, it works great, but I’ve had customers dispute charge with no reasoning to get the money back easily. No real investigation done or evidence needed. I recommend using square which that App requires customers to sign off on invoices to prevent any charges disputed. It’s unfortunate. They never reached out to me during the case for the charges being disputed and just went ahead and did what the customer requested, which was returned the money for no real reason.
Service nerfed, price doubled for “upgrade”
I’ve been paying the monthly subscription for years, and all of a sudden I’ve now got a minuscule number of invoices I can send out under my so-called “legacy” plan. Now I get to pay double for the actual useful part of this app, apparently funding the addition of the new fluff that I’ll never need or use. But hey, on the plus side, now they try to lend you money within this app. Just what everyone has been asking for. What’s next, gambling? Hard pass. As soon as I figure out how to import data into a new app I’m gone forever.

You buy their best plan and halfway through it they longer honor it and want you to pay a new premium price. Paying per invoice is a joke. No renewing going to a better app
Money thief’s
For years I’ve used this app. I loved it until……… until I decided to setup the payments through the app. Huge mistake. They use PayPal. But the two don’t communicate. So invoice simple has a link in the invoices sent to customers that allow card payments by clicking the link. I’m a plumbing company. So my customers are getting a service from me. Invoice has their link setup as a sale of goods which alerts PayPal to ask for proof of delivery, bill of sale, receipts etc. here’s the kicker. PayPal doesn’t recognize any documentation from invoice maker as valid documentation. So I now have $6000 tied up at PayPal and they won’t refund my customer. Customer is mad cause their sewer is leaking into their house and they paid to have it fixed and PayPal don’t care. Invoice maker backs PayPal. Even though PayPal don’t see them as valid. lol. Joke of a company. Use it but don’t pay for it and do t let any money go through them.

Horrible customer service
They keep raising their prices every few months and forcing customers to upgrade or be left high and dry, even when we were on a supposed “unlimited annual plan” subscription. Customer service response is “sorry, but we are doing this to everyone, so you have to just deal with it.” No, we don’t. I’ll be finding another invoicing platform. This one is putting profits over customers.
Unfair Mid-Year Price Hike
“I’ve been a loyal customer of this company for several years, consistently paying for their annual subscription. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed when they raised the subscription cost from $59.95 to $159.95 in the middle of my subscription year and refused to honor the original rate. It feels unfair to change terms mid-year after customers have already committed. I expected better treatment and transparency from a company I supported for so long.”

I’ve used Invoice Simple’s for extended period of time and completely put off by their predatory methods of constantly gouging loyal customers for money and attempting to get personal financial information on every client I issue invoice to… beware !
Dramatic price increases
I loved this app but every couple of months the price goes up. I’ve been using the app for about 3 years. It went from $6.99 (or 4.99) when I started to $19.99 suddenly. Just last week it was $10.99, and I was already upset about that. Now it says I’m required to upgrade or I can only make up to 10 invoices per month. I’m a very small business with no employees and even I send 30+ invoices a month. This is ridiculous.
Different language
The app did not work very well when I was trying to create an estimate. All of the information on the estimate came out in a different language for some reason and I couldn’t figure out why.

Dont do it! I was a client for years!!! They go up monthly in price! One day out of the blue, they sent me a notification. "you can only send 10 invoices per month now. Upgrade to premium to send unlimited "... I was sending unlimited invoices for 5 years as a paid service with these guys already! Go somewhere else! These guys will continue to go up! Trust me!!! Its not worth it. There are so many places to choose from
There’s better apps for less
I’ve been with invoice simple since their plan was $2.99 a month. Over the years they have increase the price slowly which is understandable. My current plan is $8.49 and then all of a sudden I get notice that I can only print 10 invoices a month unless I upgrade to a $19.99 plan with unlimited printing. I contacted computer service and they would not do anything even though I Told them there’s other apps for less. I’ve since taken my business elsewhere. As a business owner use something else you won’t need the headache.
Fees are outrageous
They should get fined for adjusting and upcharging their fees to their customers. You will get billed an annual fee of $99.00 on this app. But 2 months later they will bill you for another $199.00 annual fee. Rip off DO NOT DOWNLOAD!
Don’t do it
Used to be good. $19.99 the first year. Then, $54.99. Just got a message that in the middle of this year’s subscription, they are throttling my “unlimited invoices”. ‘Pay $199.99 or no more invoices and you can cancel but you’ll lose all of your data.’ No, I cannot finish out the year, just pay us $200 now or else. I’ve never filed an FTC complaint until now.
