I opened up an account, sent an invoice, customer received invoice and submitted payment & then a few hours later, I get an email stating they cancelled my account and any pending payments would be returned. No reasoning, no solution recommendation, nothing. So here I am, a small start up company and my first real customer I have to reach out to and explain this situation too… one that I don’t even understand.
Got a response via email after chatting with some one (oh and never getting said email, btw) and they want bank statements, copy of photo id and a selfie proving I’m who I say I am…. Why wasn’t this requested BEFORE my account was approved??? So now I wait… day 6 of wanting to know why they cancelled my account.
What should have been so easy has turned into a pain and an embarrassment for my small family business.

The entire process was confusing, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. No customer should have to chase a company for days just to get a basic explanation about their own account. Based on my experience, the level of support and communication has been terrible.

13 years… time to switch.
13 year user here. This app was by far the best when I first started using it. Just enough features for a small business to use for basic invoicing and expense tracking. You could export reports right from the app, and expense tracking was good.
Invoice2go is probably still a great fit more many people. I just don’t think it’s me anymore.
I’ve switched to the monthly subscription, so I can back up my data, and make the move to something else. Such a shame. Just simple things would change it all for me. But it’ll never happen, based on the last 6 years or so of waiting.
I’ve been waiting for many years for some basic improvements. A feature removed long ago was a very simple “cost of goods” system, that allowed you to bill an expense to an invoice, and when viewing the expenses you’d see the “tagged invoice” in the reports.
That feature was removed, and eventually replaced with “projects”. Something that over complicated the original feature.
But also, the reporting. Whether your using the app, or the website version, to get a report you have to; select the report (which most have current year, but if you want 2025 you have to select “custom” and do the date range) then click export, which then sends a link to your email, which then bounces you back to your browser for download, then you can open it. Talk about annoying.

I have been unable to send email invoices from iOS 26 for several months. According to Invoice2go support this is a known issue and I only have the option of using my pc to send invoices via email or wiping my phone to downgrade to a previous iOS version.

Avoid Invoice2Go, look elsewhere
Alarmingly horrible product support. I opened a ticket due to an inability to set up ACH transfers, and the response from tech support was to close my account without notification. Support strung me along while they reviewed the ticket, and in the end confirmed that their position was that I was out of luck and I would be unable to even retrieve my invoice history and customer info.
I’ve been using ZoHo since then and haven’t had any complaints.

I’d give zero stars if I could. My account was deactivated and deleted with no explanation or violations. Dishonest
I have been a loyal user for 10+ years. I got an email saying if I renew, I get to keep my current rate as long as I renew before my subscription runs out. Well they didn’t like that I got my subscription for a nice discount last year so they refuse to honor their email. There only excuse is they didn’t mean to make the email so black and white and they should have included some fine print, which it had none of. Here is the actual email that via cut and paste
“Hi there,
We wanted to let you know that the price of your Invoice2go plan will increase in 30 days. To maintain your existing rate and plan benefits for another year, you can renew your subscription now before the new pricing goes into effect.
Please renew within the next 30 days to lock in your current price and continue running your business.”
I warned them I would be posting this online, they didn’t care.

My Recent Experience With Invoice2go’s Payment System
After more than a decade using Invoice2go to manage invoicing for my restoration business, I have always appreciated the platform for its practicality and ease of use. However, I recently encountered a situation that raised serious concerns about their new credit-card processing system and the quality of their customer support.
Invoice2go has recently resumed accepting credit-card payments through a third-party processor, Bill.com. Unfortunately, this change created unexpected complications that affected both me and my client. One of my customers did not recognize the charge from Bill.com on her American Express statement, and she disputed the transaction-even though the payment was legitimately made for services I provided.
Once I learned of the issue, I immediately clarified with my client that Bill.com was simply Invoice2go’s new processor. She confirmed the payment was valid and even sent a written statement explaining that she had authorized the charge. I forwarded her letter to Invoice2go, expecting a quick resolution.
Instead, the process became increasingly frustrating. Invoice2go refused to release the funds and requested an additional letter directly from my client’s American Express account-an unreasonable and inconvenient requirement for both my client and for me. Despite my effort to cooperate, I was eventually forced to obtain a copy of the original transaction directly from my client’s AMEX statement and send it to Invoice2go as further proof.
Even after providing that documentation, Invoice2go informed me that they would still hold the $3,600 payment for 90 days. The communication throughout the entire situation was slow, unclear, and extremely unhelpful. At no point did I feel supported as a long-standing customer who has trusted this platform for more than ten years.
A payment processor’s responsibility is not only to protect against fraud but also to support legitimate businesses when disputes arise. Holding funds for such an extended period-after the client confirms the legitimacy of the transaction-does not represent best practices. Combined with poor communication and unreasonable documentation demands, this experience has caused me to seriously reconsider whether Invoice2go’s current payment system is suitable for a professional business.
After years of loyalty, this was truly disappointing. I hope Invoice2go reviews these internal procedures and improves both transparency and customer service so that other small businesses do not face the same unnecessary inconvenience.

Their plans are broken. They want to force you to pay $40 a month for unlimited invoices. The other two plans they limit the invoices to 2 per month or 5 per month. No help after hacker hacked my account
I have PayPal set up through invoice2go someone figured out how to get around the double authentication and changed my PayPal link to another email address. All invoice2go keeps telling me as I have to take it up with PayPal. Even though someone hacked my account through invoice2go and change the information through their website, not PayPal website. Two different ladies in customer service just kept telling me the exact same thing over and over and over when I try to explain to them they didn’t hack into PayPal they hacked into your website and stole my money. They said there’s nothing we can do about it. I don’t trust invoice2go anymore to accept payments. Luckily it was only $325, but I asked the lady if It would’ve been $5000 would I be out the $5000? She said yes, you have to take it up with PayPal.
PayPal understandably said all they can do is direct money to an email address from their website. Totally understandable. So now we’ll be using another software that doesn’t tell me. It’s my fault for someone hacking their system. I’ve used this system for almost 10 years now, but I can’t trust them anymore.

If you’re considering Invoice2Go for your business, think again. Our experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. In the middle of a busy business day, our account was suddenly locked, leaving us unable to invoice clients or access the money we had rightfully earned. This disrupted our operations entirely, causing unnecessary stress and financial loss.
Customer service was atrocious. There is no phone number to call, so we were forced to use their chat feature. Grace L., the first representative we contacted, was incredibly rude and unhelpful. She dismissed our concerns and told us to wait 24-48 hours for upper management to respond. As if we could just shut down our business and wait for them to figure it out-laughable! After Grace L. abruptly ended the chat, another representative tried to assist us, but the answer was the same: “Wait 24-48 hours.”
To make matters worse, they claimed our account was still accessible, which was a blatant lie. Not only could we not log in, but our employees were also locked out. The lack of accountability and transparency was appalling.
This company operates like a scam. They lock you out of your account, hold your funds hostage, and provide no immediate solutions. We have since closed our account and switched to Square, which has been far more reliable and professional.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Invoice2Go at all costs. Don’t risk your business with a company that clearly doesn’t understand how businesses operate.

Literally handcuffed
I just wanna start by saying that I was one of the original customers to this program. I started over 10 years ago and have ran two companies for the last 10 years. about two years ago, I started having problems with estimates and invoices when I try to write them just spinning, and not being able to connect to the cloud not being able to generate an invoice or estimate number.
This is so frustrating because it takes me hours to write an estimate or invoice when I can normally do it in 20 or 30 minutes I have called multiple times over the last two years and have been given every excuse and every time the excuse is different Invoice has blamed it on Apple saying that it’s a security problem, but I highly doubt it and the last person that I spoke to said this is an Invoice to go problem they know about it and he just don’t seem to wanna fix it I’m so frustrated because I have so much data married to them as of right now the only way I can write estimates is to completely unload both of my programs for both businesses reload them and I can write four or five estimates at a time and then I have to do the same over and over again. This is one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever experienced in business. I have literally put millions of dollars through these accounts in the last 10 years and can’t get anybody to give me a factual answer. If you’re thinking of using an Invoice to go, I would highly suggest you give it a second thought and research another company. I’m hoping that they will reach out to me and try to resolve my issue as I am borderline ready to launch a lawsuit against them. Not good anymore
I have been a customer of theirs since 2019 so 6ish years. The app worked fine over the years it had its drawbacks but nothing that was a deal breaker. However if you plan to use them for credit cards or ACH payments listen to my experience and make your own decisions. ACH and credit card processing was done via a 3rd party and everything worked for years. Now invoice2Go is doing the processing and no longer using the 3rd party. And that’s where all my trouble began.
After 2 months of trying to set up the new processing system. I can now accept CC’s but was denied ACH transfers.. I submitted the forms they asked for at least 10 times for both CC&ACH , but the system kept rejecting them. There are No customer service phones to call so you have to email them. Their response made no sense and didn’t explain or fix the issue. (Their words) “The denial was due to reasons that they can’t explain me.. “ so after 6 years I am finding a new vender and moving on.
If you need a reliable vender to help run your business you may want to do some research prior to settling on this one. You’ve been warned.

Not recommended, choose a real PP
Scammers received all detailed government personal and business information, they are extremely intrusive. They don’t have real phone support who customers can contact but they do have AI generated emails. Chat support not helpful at all they don’t know anything. Laughable. They direct customers to email and hopefully you’ll get contact in a few business days. And there is a subscription fee. Another significant issue, no other payment processor has a subscription fee. It’s scammy overall. Find another. You’re welcome business owners.

Photo issues 20% of the time
Sometimes when I try to upload photos, whether from my phone or computer, I run into issues where in my phone I cannot print the file it won’t load and tells me there’s an error and on my computer some photos.JPEG in particular will fail to upload and I have to keep re-trying. Locked out with no notice
We run a small Mobile Mechanic business. I have been using this app for about 3 weeks now. Today is June 5th.
On June 3rd, I paid for the full version of the app, and applied for the credit card processing feature.
On June 4th, at 10am I received an email asking for a review of my call to customer service ( I never called customer service). At 10:15am I received an email stating my account has been closed with no additional information to provide at this time.
At 10:30am I received an email stating they need a list of documents from me, including 3 months bank statements, possibly a letter from the bank with my account information, a selfie, my Drivers license front and back, and copy of my EIN paperwork.
I went to log into my account and can not.
I contacted the customer service department last night (4th). They can not help me. There is no phone number listed to call and talk to a human in the department I need to speak with. I am at their mercy as to weather or not and when they will give me back access to my books.
ALL of my customers information is in there. Phone numbers, addresses, etc. As a small mobile mechanic business, not being able to contact my customers or know where my jobs that I have lined up are is exactly how kill a business.
Thank you Invoices2go for locking me out of all of MY billing and customer information. It will be hard to recover from this.

Great invoicing app poor customer service.
I really like the invoicing features which I have used for several years and have been very pleased. I recently signed up for their debit card and it has been such a run around to get the card activated. I also recently accepted my first payment through their system and my money has been on hold for five days and it is still not released. It looks like I will be finished with the job before I receive my down payment. Not cool. Although Square charges a fee, I will revert back to using them because waiting five plus days(however many more) is not an option.
