App is horrible
This is the worst app I have ever downloaded. Constant glitches: all messages say from unknown, I can't use it for more than a few minutes and it crashes and makes me sign back in (which is so frustrating when you're in the middle of a conversation). I've uninstalled, reinstalled, made sure my iOS system is current, cleared my cache, removed my vpn, accepted all cookies, accepted only required.

Completely non functional
It’s not worth my effort to say how useless this app is compared to even basic free apps too bad. Years ago it was pretty decent.

I’ve been trying to get help with this app for months and I get no response when I send a message. I need to speak with someone! I’ve had no matches for months even when changing my “ preferences”. The last ones were men from other countries far off my preferences and when they finally removed them ( I wrote many times) I’ve had no matches for months even though I experimented and changed preferences a number of times !! I write them and get no response and no help!
I got a reply from

Waste of time, money and effort
Over the course of my life, I have used JDate for years, and twice paid for 3-6 months of their subscription service. I have had just about as much luck us in this app as the Hindenburg engineers would have had by tackling their problem with a fire extinguisher.
Having tried to use it, I feel informed in giving my opinion that this product, and its associated services, are a waste of time, effort and money.
For G-d’s sake, it charges you around twice what other services do for basic functions (such as the ability to send messages), that 90% of other services give for free.
If you are a man trying to use JDate to find a Jewish woman to date, I recommend as an alternative; screaming into a well. You will receive more responses that way than from other users for the service team for this product.
Having tried to use it, I feel informed in giving my opinion that this product, and its associated services, are a waste of time, effort and money.

I bought a year premium subscription in Oct 2025 through the App Store. Within weeks of my membership , the system blocked access to my account.
I contacted jdate customer service numerous times requesting a refund but was told a refund had to go through Apple since membership was bought through App Store . Both Apple and jdate bounced me around and sloughed off ownership of the refund request until Apple denied my claim.
Jdate CS is only via email which is slow , arduous and very frustrating!!
Stay away from app as it seems to have chronic issues that result in glitches which block access to one’s account and lacks technical support as evidenced through my experience and others based on the many reviews.
This seems to be a scam to money grab !

If you swipe left and decide to reconsider a profile, it is gone and apparently would no longer show up for you.
After a few visits, I exhausted about two dozen profiles, and even though I wanted to reconsider one or two, that train has left the station.
Instead, the app would offer random profiles from all over the country which is really impractical and of no use for most people, me included.
I see that the developers would leave their comment to say how sorry they are that a user is disappointed, but they don't really mean it.
I plan to delete the app, lest it reminds me for being taken for a fool.

Subpar
Feels like Jdate gave up on developing the app and offer matchmaking services at premium. Match.com is so much better.
👀Serious problem with account management and security issues ⚠️
My experience with JDate was deeply concerning. A user pressured me to move the conversation to another app to “verify” my identity. For safety reasons, I declined, as I had already completed JDate’s verification process.
After setting this boundary, I was reported as a fake profile and my account was blocked without proper investigation or review of the conversation. Support took over a week to respond.
I was later asked to submit my passport, which I did. At that point, I clearly requested the permanent deletion of my account and cancellation of my subscription. Instead, my account was reactivated without my consent, and my requests were ignored.
This reflects poor handling of security issues and account management. I would not recommend this app.

Pathetic
Horrible. It kept logging me out and tried to re-bill me. A pathetic app for a pathetic company as they see the reviews and somehow managed to make the app even worse than it already was.
Extremely low match rates
The match rate is well below 1%, making me think most of the users I’m being shown are dormant accounts.
Worst waste of money and no refund no choice run around
Paid for six months went one month with no options kept writing customer service did everything asked still doesn’t work and out a six month membership , little to no selection and my preferences are not specific. Super disappointing-total “Shonda”
Nobody local
I feel I did not use my money wisely. There are not men to meet around my location. I paid for a year. The subscription limits browsing to a few profiles every 24 hours and the same profiles are cycled through so I started blocking the recycled profiles. The app keeps recommending men 2 or more states way from me. I’m extremely frustrated with this service. I regret paying for it.
Garbage
This app it’s terrible. The technology sucks, and the support is nonexistent. Stay away.
Price and features
Compared to all of the other applications in the market, Jdate is the most expensive one and has less features like if there’s a match another application, you can actually reach out for non-paying customers second of all there’s no option of super like and third of all Settings on faith/religion are very vague or if someone prefers just Jewish it does not have the option

Too slow
App needs to be fixed. Very slow to load photos of people when you click on them. A lot of time it’s just blank and don’t show their photos at all

Shalom, this may be the worst app ever created. I constantly am unable to login. I always get a message that it’s not on my end. It’s on Jdate. Based on my experience, your better off going to the Vatican. Don’t waste your money on this site.
So disappointing
Even with a subscription, the app shows you matches that are hundreds of miles away. You meet many more local Jewish singles on other apps. Such a shame.

Do not sign up for Jdate. The app is even more awful than it ever was. I am dating with intention. The app doesn’t apply your age preferences and all races are on here. Why pay for a Jewish app when a lot of users aren’t even Jewish? I want a refund immediately. If you want to waste your time go ahead and sign up .

Terrible matchmaking service
Do NOT spend money with this company. Their matchmaking service is very expensive and my matchmaker was not very responsive, ghosted me for two weeks, and told me my membership expired (before it was supposed to). I provided the screenshots as backup to her and to customer service as proof. The company doesn’t care and hasn’t responded.
World’s worst app on iPad!
Awful and useless app…doesn’t let you search yourself for matches…forces only the ones it decides are for you, and gives you no option to search yourself…worst is that it completely ignores your criteria..I asked for only Matches within 20 miles and it keeps sending me people who live 500 miles away! Like I am really going to go out for a quick cup of coffee with an unknown who lives five states from me?!

Login via Facebook broken AGAIN
Hey JDATE…hire some people who understand how to run an app. Once again, your login is down. Pathetic.
Close to fraud
I wasn’t on the app for five minutes before it said I was blocked tried to reset and get back in and it wouldn’t send me the password. Horrible technical support, really pathetic outdated. I expected more as I thought they had done more to improve it from 1998 and they have not.
Avoid
Account randomly blocked. Impossible to contact. Avoid. Nothing is easy when it comes to dealing with them.

It used to be good. Now it doesn’t even function anymore. Even with paying for the minimum subscription. I asked the App Store for my money back, but I don’t think they will refund me.
BEWARE!!!
If you use this app, you MUST understand how it works. The way they have it set up is the WORST process for a dating app. As you go through profiles, you have 2 choices, (1) press the heart for a like, (2) press the heart with a line through it to not like them. Guess what this app does??? If you press the heart with a line through it, you are “BLOCKING” that person and you will never have an opportunity to see them again unless they happen to randomly come up in a “Discover”. The app doesn’t tell you this with any onboarding training. So what will happen is once you look through all the profiles to who is that person you want to like, you cannot go back to others. You won’t have any other people come up in this app, it’s just blank with no people to review. The app is essentially a throw away app and they have developed this in the absolute worst way to generate subscriptions and revenue. These people aren’t too smart, but hopefully this helps you.

Ripoff - Horrible Service
I have now been trying for almost 2 weeks to get the money. I’ve already paid for premium subscription to be applied to my account. They’ve stopped responding to my customer service requests, I’ve sent them the proof that they’ve asked for, just go away and find a different app. They clearly don’t care about this one anymore.

Beyond that, you need a subscription. I spent 30 minutes answering all the questions in my profile in order to increase my chances of getting matches. After I answered everything their system marked all my answers as invalid or not good enough. Not only that, but even with a subscription they limit how many profiles you can see per day(about 2-3 profiles a day). You also cannot zoom in on a picture or swipe through pictures of someone’s profile without a subscription. It’s absolutely ridiculous. By the way, their subscription is $40/month for the MOST BASIC plan. This app is a money grab. At the end of the day, put your social media handles in your description so if someone’s like you, they can reach out to you via other social media apps. If you want to include messages, get an AI photo editing app or something to un-blur the message from someone if you want to go that extent. Like I said, this app is a joke and a completely pathetic attempt at scamming people.

Suboptimal algorithm and limited options
The main problem is the male options for a female user. Let’s start with the fact that half of the male users have self-reportedly other religions, which already beats the purpose of the app. But here is the side-by-side comparison of the male options on jdate and on the more popular “H”, non-j, dating app. “H”options are an average of 6.5 among 100 filtered options, while for jdate the average was 2.5 among 20 (lightly) filtered options, which left me basically with an average 5 among 2 decent options. These are my personal approximate ratings obviously. But I would say from experience thay “H” feels 500 times better than Jdate. This is my honest take on it.

Why download the app when it makes you continuously sign in and restate your cookie preferences despite saving them every single time? Why restrict potential matches to a few per day for paying members? Why show the same profiles as “new” when you’ve already matched with or turned down a potential match? I wish I hadn’t paid for a year. The service is mediocre at best and the app is awful.
Terrible app
The service is not terrible. It is what it is; an old school niche dating site for Jewish singles. But the app is almost comically unusable. It’s really funny how they screw up even basic functionality like sign-in. It's a genuinely bad app.
Total scam
You can’t set parameters for who they show you. I’m in Wisconsin but they’re suggesting people in Ontario and North Carolina. No way to say “Hey, how about someone within 90 miles or so?”
Then there’s the constant pressure to spend. Want to contact people? Pay up. Not working out (not because we’re showing profiles from 800 miles away, of course)? Then pay for a matchmaker.
I get that this is a business. That’s fine. But this is excessive and wasteful.
