Bugs everywhere
Move an item in the same column to order by priority? Reverts back. This thing is so buggy it's unusable

Verification code doesn’t come until 10 mins later
Verification code doesn’t come until 10 mins later - this is super inconvenient and sometime the system ask you twice for the verification code. Super unnecessary.
Won’t work on iOS beta
Locks you out if using developer or public betas. Makes work more difficult if your job is to provide future software feedback and report concerns. At least give me 1 click to open a browser to the work link I just clicked on that bought me to the app.
Updates keep getting worse
Text is now unreadable from mobile on dark mode, the text is dark blue with black background, obviously was not tested.
Does not recognize latest iOS release
Current version of Jira app does not recognize the latest security release from Apple and believes it is beta SW and will not let you use the app.

This app is confusing, hard to work around and is forgettable. Also, the CEO is an unlikable and cruel human who will sacrifice employees to make an extra buck.
I can’t find any tickets
I can never find the tickets I’m looking for. People also don’t add enough details in the ticket so I’m asking them anyways
Constant authentication is annoying
This needs to be fixed every time I try to open an app. I have to log login and then I have to kill the app before I can actually get in after logging in because it’s locked on the sign in Verification page. It’s not even this difficult to log into my banking and investment accounts.

Stop bugging me
This app pushed TWO near-simultaneous interrupting overlays at me. One demanding that turn on push notifications and one demanding that I review the app. Horrible experience. Just let me use an app for two seconds to get a task done. Not recommended!

“Update required to access Jira, you’re using beta software.” Did you really think it was a good idea to block app developers from using Jira, the target audience, who are always running the iOS beta?
Can’t Log In
The newest update has me login and then says my session is expired. Works without issue on Safari mobile or any browser on desktop. Brutal update.

Poor excuse for an app
I am really surprised at the great reviews. This app is terrible. I literally only have it because of the push notifications. Other than that, it’s pretty terrible ( did I already say that?). The search is not good but it’s pretty poor on the desktop version as well. Super buggy and missing some key elements. The only thing that works well are the push notifications.
critical alerts not working
forced to use this app over opsgenie but the critical alert functionality does not actually alert like opsgenie, i keep missing pages in the middle of night and even day
Okta sign in is broken
Keyboard is missing when signing in via Okta. When you go to sign in any and ALL fields are not able to show a keyboard to type anything in when tapped. you are unable to see the keyboard let alone copy and paste. This is on multiple devices with varying OS versions. Please fix this!

Recent builds UNSTABLE
Over the last several updates, this app has become increasingly unstable for me. It freezes and hard crashes quite often. I’ve had to uninstall/reinstall the app numerous times just to get my main job board to open. It is not only very frustrating, but also disruptive to my work day.
Not able to login with MS account
I gave one star, because I wasn’t able to login with Microsoft account. Therefore App never worked for me. When I try to login to Jira, the Confluence page is shown.

I’m a huge fan of Jira and all the Atlassian tools. Unfortunately the Jira iPad app is completely unusable. Even with the wider horizontal view, all of the columns in the left panel are either hidden or truncated due to not being able to hide or minimize the right panel. There isn’t any possible view where you can see exactly what you need to see in the app. You should be able to hide the left and right panels so that you can see the other maximized in its entirety. Unfortunately the only way to use Jira on the iPad is through the Safari browser.
Can’t even see your users in the app
The app is lacking almost everything that was present in OpsGenie and is so basic it’s not worth using. What a downgrade.
Unbelievably buggy and near-unusable
I love Jira, so it pains me to have to write this review, especially on a mobile keyboard as unintuitive and cumbersome as the iOS one. Somehow the iOS version is way less reliable than the Android version and has difficulty doing really basic things like refreshing tasks, attaching files (it can’t be trusted to locate files on your device), and recently, RENUMBERED all my carefully designated bullets (the number order is crucial because it’s helped our devs stay on track) in a complex task.
I would also like to second all the reviews that complain of freezing and crashing. Words are insufficient to describe how deeply disappointed I am in this app. It’s honestly made my job harder.
And please, for the love of the FSM, stop burying Link Issue in a separate menu and change the font back in your desktop version. The former is inefficient and the latter causes enormous eye strain. I’d report these and other accessibility issues myself but Atlassian makes you go through your organisation’s appointed admin, so if they’re unwilling to do so, you can’t let Atlassian know. Our admin is reluctant to submit support requests because he says Atlassian support is unresponsive and unhelpful, so apparently I’m supposed to just live with each successive wave of unnecessary and detrimental ‘updates’.

No longer getting push notifications
I double checked all settings in the app and even ran the test, notification appears on screen during test but not when new tickets come in. I also checked my phone settings, nothing changed. Did reboot the phone just in case it was an issue. Not getting pop up alert from the app nor am I getting a sound notification.
App Freezes or Crashes when editing a ticket
Left my laptop at home for this trip so I could do work on my iPad, but unfortunately that’s not possible with an app that doesn’t work. This is a Sev 1 issue with no workaround that I can see and there are reviews from at least a month ago with the same issue. This is deeply concerning. UPDATE: Workaround is to use the web app via safari. Going to delete the App though since it’s hard to depend on an app that doesn’t fix issues like this quickly.

All over the place, slow
Painful to use. Imagine the very real possibility of having to reference multiple tickets at the same time. The UI is so severely shortsighted I can’t use this app for managing releases or backlog grooming. It’s barely usable for tracking recent ticket comments.
Can’t leave comments on tasks
I can’t enter comments on tasks, and when I try to reach support, it won’t let me. So I’ll leave a 1-star review to try to get some attention. If you’re going to have a Comments section on tasks, it really should work.

Great software, bad app
I love Jira, have been using it for years. The iPad app isn’t the greatest. It just crashed 3 times as I was editing a story.
Links from email don’t open ticket in app
Click link in email, get promoted to view ticket in app, app never opens ticket but instead opens generic Home Screen. Horrible.

App new release
App constantly needs a new release and every time it does you have to hope that it works. Currently I select “update app” and it takes me to the play store. Which tells me the app is up to date and only option is to open the app. Repeat steps… Even when I uninstall and reinstall the same symptoms exists. This is now the 3rd time I have dealt with this nonsense and I rely very heavily on this major app to work for my JSM clients who are 24/7 support. App is great when it works but with constant new releases you're always playing with fire. I get the idea of agile and sprint planning but QC is virtually nowhere in the equation with normal smoke tests like the app launching properly after new release is installed.

This review is mid-2024 after I wrote this in 2022. How do we still not have the ability to copy the URL to a specific Comment on a Jira Issue?

Can we just get parity to what Slack can do? Otherwise, my team naturally starts moving to Slack because Jira is harder to use than (or lacks parity re: basic aspects of) Jira’s website.

App updated last night and I am getting notifications nonstop whenever a ticket is opened or updated. I have assigned, watching and all mentions setup. Now I get notifications for every freaking ticket! Also what’s up with the crazy modal ui wanting me to turn on critical notifications? Impossible to close it as I just don’t care. I have to force close the app to get past it.
Multiple links, multiple codes, multiple companies, multiple projects
Can’t even activate. As I try, I get several login codes concurrently. Hassle to go back and forth on my phone to set up one founder who has multiple startups launching and scaling. Which single login with dashboard bite to my portfolio companies was possible.
