Same as other reviews. They do not send a notification that they are charging you and will say they do. There are much better apps out there as well.
Do not get!!
This is by far the very worst language learning app I have ever used in my entire life. I got it because of the constant advertisements on social media and them slamming Duolingo. But in my opinion, I've learned much more conversational Japanese and 60 days on Duolingo than any other app. This one teaches you four words then expects you to translate an entire paragraph that contains one of those words and the feed back it does give will be filled with the writing in that language knowing full well it hasnt taught you any of the writing for that language. It does not explain how grammar and sentence structure is used and they also advertise that they teach you how to speak like a local but use words that I have never heard the locals use. The price is extremely high as well. Any good reviews of this app are a total lie. Save your damn money this app is a complete waste!

Don’t believe the fake reviews for this app. It is super glitchy, difficult to learn, and doesn’t make sense. It’s probably completely written by AI since lots of the “lessons” don’t make sense and they let you go through without learning anything. I also got charged for the AI and I wanted a refund since I didn’t like the program and they couldn’t give me any money back. Over $200 down the drain. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.
This app is terrible, don’t waste your money
After 6 years on Duolingo I needed to move on because I was just reviewing material I had already learned. I had high hopes for Jumpspeak in terms of having conversations. It’s horrible. The role plays are a joke. The AI clearly has preprogrammed responses and does not respond to what I say. It doesn’t offer open ended questions that allow me to compose an intelligent response. The feedback it gives on my responses clearly indicates that it expected something specific that was not in keeping with what I meant. Sometimes it asks you to provide a missing word when there is no word actually missing Just today I got an email quiz that gave answers in English rather than Spanish. When I wrote back to customer service regarding my dissatisfaction I was told they were sorry I was unhappy with the app. That was the extent of the customer service. It’s ridiculous. People who are giving this app high ratings are not learning good Spanish and they don’t even know it. Go to Duolingo if you want to actually learn decent Spanish

Jumpspeak sent me confirmations about the $79 annual charge but never any notification about the $295 monthly charges. This is an illegal practice and I reported it to the FTC. I emailed Jumpspeak support explaining I had never subscribed to the tuition plan, never received payment confirmations, never accessed the tuition account, and that it was not disclosed in the original advertisement.
They responded by falsely claiming they had emailed me payment confirmations, and saying tuition plans are non-refundable under their T&Cs. I am currently seeking legal advice

They will not refund
Be careful, they send a notification that your account will be charged to your spam folder and then won’t refund you when you ask to cancel before the charge is even active. Also the support team has zero remorse.

I downloaded this app because I was intrigued by the idea that it allows you to have “real conversations.” There are no real conversations. The app gives you a bunch of stock phrases, then it takes one side, and has you repeat the phrases it gave you in response. There’s no opportunity to develop your own responses. There’s no unpredictability in what the app is going to say. It’s also really bad at recognizing speech.

This app lures you in with appealing trial pricing, but be careful they automatically renew your subscription without sending any reminder email. I used the app for about 2 weeks and found it boring and nowhere near as immersive as advertised. Once the subscription renews, you re basically stuck. They refuse to issue refund, hiding behin the fine print that most people will never read. I emailed back and forth with costumer service, and they refused to refund me. Between poor app experience and the terrible customer service experience, this was a complete waste of money. Stay away or set a calendar reminder to cancel it on time.
Too fast paced
Lessons are more listening and very fast paced. I haven’t gotten one word choice problem correct without going back 3 or 4 times to correct the errors. I am on lesson one and already feeling lost and defeated.

In the first video, her over pronunciation and written conjugations are just WRONG. Nobody with basic French pronounces “elles vont” as el-z voh-t. Even the subtitling on video is WRONG - “il/elles vont”
Deceptive practices
Not a very good language app, no trial. But offered a moneyback guarantee however they refuse and pass the buck onto Apple. Their site specifically says reach out to customer service and they will offer a refund which they did not. Speak is way better.
A real person review: this is a SCAM
I got this app so that I could use its AI feature. $100+ later and I realize the AI doesn’t ACTUALLY respond to the things you say. All it does is prompt you with the same exact questions, no matter how you respond. This AI feature is terrible and I feel robbed. I asked for my money back and I got rejected twice. Don’t fall into the same trap I did!

All the AI generated photos are so creepy and distracting. Really hate it. I regret signing up.

Be careful with this one
Very difficult to even find a place to get help with correcting language choice. If you become frustrated with lack of assistance and choose to quit, no refunds! You’re stuck with the original price for a full year.

This app is absolutely trash. It has a great concept but lacks basic functionality. It’s slow and laggy. Half the time it won’t let you place the words in the correct places on the screen. This app needs a complete overhaul. As it is, I don’t understand how they can justify charging anything much less what I paid for it.

The advertisements promise immersion. You will be speaking from the get go the founder says. You won’t be clicking buttons like DuoLingo. Lies! From the get go, I click buttons of basic vocabulary and watch videos mostly in English. I want my money back.
Not worth it
If you like brute forcing your way through lessons with zero direction then this is for you. This app will throw grammar and words never introduced to you before. No grammar concepts are explained. Vocabulary practice before lessons and conversations is a joke. Frequent glitches. Poor translations that aren’t native sounding (at least in Japanese). No way to display furigana to help pronounce new kanji. Don’t waste your time. It’s a nice-looking app but under the skin it’s very bare bones with what appears to be zero QA and vetting of its content. This is not an efficient way to learn a language. It’s been nothing but frustration with this app.

I bought the Premium package and it was never connected to my account, I've asked for a refund and haven't heard back from them about anything.

I’ve added and deleted the app several times and can’t get any of the app to actually load. It’s stuck in loading mode. Awful experience.

I opened this app in October for a trip in December. I cancelled it in January and deleted the app. I was mysteriously charged today so I reloaded the app, looked to make sure I had cancelled it and there was no active subscription. So I ask you, why are you still charging me $69 every 3 months?

Avoid, money better spent elsewhere
Poorly executed AI learning platform with numerous bugs particularly in the verbal portion. 100 day money back guarantee policy is also a scam, even when told the program was ineffective. I feel money would be better spent on Rosetta Stone or Duolingo with stronger support staff and programs.

Careful with Subscription
Watch out when you try to end your subscription. If you do it through the recommendations on the website it won’t actually work and does not send you any confirmation that you tried to cancel leading to you paying for months or years of unknowingly using it. After several days of talking to the support team about how this is a problem on there end all they would say is if you don’t have proof you tried to cancel it, which there is no confirmation sent when you try, then too bad.

This app isn’t help, it’s not different than any other learning app, except it will auto subscribe you to a $399 service thats free for 2 weeks, and then charges you. Their return policy? Non existent. Their customer service number? Also non existent? The customer service email you can email - not helpful. Steer clear of this scam
Misleading
Purchased through an ad I saw on social media which said that I would pay $0.19 a day to eventually reach $69.99 over the course of a couple months. I purchased this and all $69.99 was spent in one go without warning. I have no way to get a refund as I have tried to send emails and contact support. Very frustrated with my unexpected payment and unsure how to fix this.

The app was teaching me to ask a coworker about my same-sex bosses dating status. I just want to learn another language so I can get directions, buy gas, order food, and say hello without the sexuality themes being laced intermittently.

Glitchy / not as advertised
The user interface is slow and glitchy. The AI feature does not interpret your verbal input well at all, leading to instant frustration. Customer service does not exist. It’s also impossible to send messages through Help Support. You have to follow AI prompts, which don’t work. You can submit a screenshot of a glitch you’re having… which will be followed by a generic message saying “we cannot review all of the complaints we get.” Aka don’t expect a response or resolution to your problem. Save your money.

Try to back out of refund promise
I bought Jumpspeak for my son and they offered a master class video lifetime access for $37 saying I can get a refund within 30 days if not completely happy. We logged in and immediately was disappointed as there were only 38 videos and they were on very basically/ fundamentals. When i attempted to get my refund they are now claiming that it is not refundable. I sent them a screen shot from their website that says it is indeed refundable if I am not fully happy within 30 days. Very shady company.

The AI that you speak to doesn’t seem fully developed. There is no continuity in the context. For example, I could say “The weather is great outside”, and it’ll answer “Would you like a drink?”. It does not make any sense.

They start charging you and then upsale you to DEATH! Every page asks you to pay for something else. And good luck if you want to cancel. It would be easier to stop the sun from coming up tomorrow than to find a way to connect with someone from this company. Run away as fast as you can!
Scams you out of money
I signed up for an annual subscription since it had good reviews but once I started using it, it popped up with a “free trial” for premium AI. I did not see a way to exit so I accepted the free trial thinking I would be notified of it and I could cancel it. I was not notified via email that the trial had started nor when it would end and when I would be charged. I have no written proof of consent that I accepted the trial. I saved every email I’ve gotten from this app and none of them mention any of the charges. I finally found the email address to request a refund and they are denying me the refund because I was given a free trial. 0/10 would not recommend. There isn’t even a phone number to contact them. Very much feels like a scam, very unhappy with this experience. Do not sign up.

Scammed into live tutoring and charged $165 x2
I bought the app for a year and then received two subsequent charges for live tutoring that I never signed up for. At some point while signing up and downloading the original app I was told I gave “explicit” consent for them to charge me for tutoring. Such a scam. AND they’re unwilling two work with me. Super disappointing company, and customer service. Two thumbs down.

No Refunds
Ask ChatGPT about getting refunds from these folks. I was getting ready to sign up, but after reading that they tend to cheat people out of their refund. I’m definitely not signing up with these scum no matter how good the app is.
Stolen Money
I tried this App, and canceled this App. This January, the App renewed my subscription for another year without my permission and the POSTED CONTACT NUMBER DOES NOT WORK. My Apple account shows recorded where I UNSUBSCRIBED, and they Still charged me. I’m working with my bank to try to receive my money back.
