The app in its entirety behaves as a beta phase program, and relying on it has cost me vast amounts of important recordings. Unless beating your head against a wall is a frequent hobby already, please, invest in a digital recorder.

Still Turns Off w/ Incoming Call on Watch
I purchased this with the sole purpose of using it for the Apple Watch when incoming calls come in because the Apple voice app turns off with an incoming call. It’s still turns off, so it is basically a worse version of the stock app and now I’m out $5.
Complication on Apple Watch disappearing
I have been very happy with app and use it everyday but the complication from my watch face is just gone the last two mornings when I woke up. What’s going on?

Just Press Record is Voice Memos, but worse and not free
urchased this app based on Apple’s publication of a “Story” in the IOS App Store that describes Just Press Record (“JPR”) as “The Quickest Way to Record a Voice Memo.” The Story specifically referenced an Apple Watch widget as the basis for naming JPR as the quickest mechanism for recording voice memos available to iOS users. All these claims were absurd. To use JPR on a watch, you tap the widget, which opens the app. To use the free, built-in Voice Memos app, your woe the widget and open the app. These two applications are indistinguishable. Literally. Except that JPR is less reliable (JPR regularly fails to transcribe files, routinely quits, and cannot be counted on to sync across your iCloud devices). Save yourself some money and frustration. Do not purchase this app. Just use Voice Memos. kinda sad to see what a low quality marketplace the App Store has become.
I’m updating this with you seven months after I submitted it at no problems have been fixed, domination, and its transcription is a joke, and I have no clue why I paid money for this. Scam.

App stop recording…
Long time user roughly 250 GB in iCloud storage…
However the app has crashed when recording as well as not starting when recording first pulled up…
I record a lot and worried I will not have something recorded when I need it…
Oh also when device dies please save beforehand.

So bad it lost me a letter grade
I’m having a talk with my professor over important details of a patient. I press the shortcut button on my watch, and it shows that it’s recording, so I skip writing notes and focus on the professor… recording was 0 seconds long
I’ve since tried it again and again, but when I press record, it shows that it’s recording, but the recordings are always 0 seconds long
I hate when people give 1 star reviews when just one thing isn’t working the way they want it. But in this case, that one thing is the ONLY thing it’s supposed to do.

TRASH
Saves recordings at 1 sec more times than I can count. Lost so many important meeting notes because it can’t do the one job it’s supposed to.

I made a bunch of good notes for myself after being excited about this app on my watch which supposedly transcribes voice notes and syncs with cloud storage, and weeks later I realized they haven’t synced at all. I did everything in their FAQ to solve the issue, where they assure you that waiting will solve the problem. I waited, only to find out all of my good recordings have been automatically deleted from my Apple Watch and not synced at all to iCloud - lost to the ether. That was my mistake to trust this app to do what it said it did, with important notes like that. On to the next app! Bummer all around.

Infuriating
Way too touchy. It often starts recording when I don’t want it to (like when I’m trying to play back past recordings). So I end up with dozens of 2 second long accidental recordings I have to go back and delete. Maddening.
Just misses the mark
I’m sure some people have workflows for which this app is perfect. However, the default settings and the functionality is just barely missing what would work for my circumstance (and I imagine a lot of others)
My goal is to capture ideas on the run (literally). I installed Just Press Record on my Apple Watch. However, for good reason, recordings on the watch need to make it to the phone to be useful. The default is to auto delete recordings after a week. And the sync didn’t seem to be working. (Do both phone and watch apps have to be open? It doesn’t tell you this if so… and there are ways to sync the file system, such that the apps wouldn’t need to be open…) so, I lost all the recordings I’ve made.
I haven’t even gotten this far, but I bet it would be nice to have a way to easily export recordings and/or transcriptions to other tools. For example, with an iOS shortcut. That would allow me to integrate it into my workflow smoothly.
I’m really hoping these issues can be addressed so that I can make this app part of my toolbox!

Fatal flaw
Extremely frustrated. I’ve now lost multiple hour+ long recordings because my device’s battery ran out mid recording. I can understand why this might result in SOME recording loss but to lose the entire recording… no way… not worth the risk.

I was looking for an app that can start/stop recording audio on my phone using the Apple Watch as the controller but still uses the external mics connected to my phone (or Airpods via BT).
Looks like the Watch version of this app only records using the Watch's mic(s). Can I get my money back?

I need a quick way to record, like the name implies.
With this, there is no widget, and the closest looking app is screen record, so tbh I have hit that on accident looking for this app. The transcription is sub par, free models are doing a better job, this needs an update!
Recording lost if watch dies
Need to have a feature built in to auto stop recording and save before the Apple watch battery dies. Otherwise it just erases the recording.
