Not worth the money
I was fluent in Spanish 45 years ago and I have lived in Mexico for the past four years and speak fairly well. I still started at the very beginning like you would if you didn’t know any words of Spanish. The speech recognition is horrible. The logic behind something as simple multiple-choice test is stupid you say a and it puts EH. You say B and it puts BEE. You say C and it puts SI. It should only put the letters A, B, or C. So it marked you off things until you finally get so frustrated you have to type everything in your brain locks and you don’t want to go on any more. I’m running on an iPhone with a lot of memory. And it still has to be reset three or four times each lesson and takes 20 or 30 seconds to respond to some words that you say, even though you know, they are pronounced correctly. The speech recognition is just terrible.

Horrible. Full of bugs. Speaker mode doesn’t work on iPhone. They speak so fast í can’t follow. AI gets stuck in loops. What a mess
Speech recognition failure
It makes the app unusable. If they had an option to back track or take back a failed transcription than it would be functional. There is an option for no auto-send. But it doesn’t seem to work. Often I’ll say something and will be cut off with a false transcription of “Gracias”
What a turd of an app
I got charged 50 bucks because I didn’t cancel quickly enough. That’s on me. But wow, this app is a total POS. How can you charge for this with a straight face?? For heaven’s sake, have some integrity. Either make something worth paying for or don’t offer anything at all.
Waste of money
Accidentally continued a subscription and now I’m stuck paying $199.99 for some AI slop.
Difficult getting started
I find this program to be very difficult to set up as a daily routine. Too many moving parts.
Not much better than Gemini
It’s much more flexible to just use Gemini. The guided sessions are very verbose and won’t follow my instructions to cut it down. Overall not worth my money at all. Reaction time is also too slow. Sentence pronunciation often doesn’t work. It also corrects my pronunciation even when it’s flawless, probably just to repeat itself. Overall I get much better learning experience on Gemini than on Langua.
Can’t cancel subscription in app
Any app that’s let’s create subscriptions but does not let you cancel subscriptions in app is lame
Chinese learning
Not sure why people like this app. Didn’t find it useful for Chinese.
On PC +, On IPhone = Awful
Won’t hear your speaking, won’t give explanations (it’s an error that is failed to give an explanation). It’s related to internet strength for sure. But is awful in 5G. Good on fiber but I’ve got to restart my phone. One star
Freezes up
The chat feature freezes up all the time. I’ve changed between the two AI modes as instructed. I want this to work, but it’s just not.
Doesn’t work at all
It doesn’t pick up what I’m saying even when speaking very slowly and clearly. And after 2 or 3 messages it just stops responding and I have to close the app and reopen it and start the conversation over again, completely useless, glad I went with the free trail instead of wasting my money
Expensive, many technical issues
I have run into so many technical issues with this program. Their flash cards don’t work like regular flash cards, the conversation ai requires that I tap a button to respond. There’s a setting to remove that, but it doesn’t work. It’s pretty annoying when you want to have fluid conversations while getting ready for the day, etc., but instead you have to keep tapping your phone. The feature to translate podcasts is super cool, except I could only use it on the browser, and of course the browser would randomly log me out and make it difficult to get back in. Yes, I have spoken to Langua’s support team several times. Yes, they have tried to help, but ultimately I’ve just avoided using this program because the “fixes” have either been temporary, or non existent. This was a very cool idea for an app, but the price tag is painful, especially for an application I generally avoid. Buyer beware.

Nice idea soooo badly implemented
I really want this to work. But it just doesn’t. The worst is the fundamentals. The voice recognition (ASR) model is utterly useless - at least if you’re not in one of the most popular languages like English Spanish or French which I haven’t tried. In Polish it confuses a word that sounds like “chesh” with a word that sounds like “talk” - unforgivably bad.
Plus the UI is so bad it really gets in the way. Press the record button and you often have to wait more than a second or maybe two before it starts recording. C’mon. This is fundamental too. The speaker’s volume jumps around randomly. The navigation is confusing.
There’s really nothing I can recommend about this except hope. So that good idea earns it a second star. Please fix this. I want it to be useful.

Not Compatible for all languages
This app seems to be good to learn something like spanish or french, but it is impossible to learn Chinese with this app, you get stuck trying to pronounce the same thing for like 20 minutes then, the ai doesn’t help you try to pronounce it, and then you just can’t progress.
Does not remember what we’ve done
Same lesson again is not helpful.
BEWARE THE FREE TRIAL
As soon as i clicked the 7 day free trial it immediately charged me $32 which is one month of the unlimited plan. While still only giving me the 7days then kicking me out.
Not what I was expecting
The AI was very slow to respond and process and every other time I tried to respond it would ask me to repeat words that even my Colombian wife was telling me I was saying correctly

This is an expensive app for the quality. Any random AI chat tool is just as good or probably better.

I am not impressed
I subscribed for a month and was not impressed. I am trying to learn French and need a chance to actually speak.
First problem is that the app looses my password, apple has it memorized but the app does not always take it and I must keep trying.
Actual language problems: I say things and not only does the AI not understand me (I know I am not very good) but it just makes things up. Ie, I say j’habite en USA and thé Ai writes j’habit en Germany , you can not confuse the two not matter how bad my French is. This is only one example but this happens often , I say one thing and thé AI writes something else.
Another error I find is when doing dialogue thé AI does not always help out. If I say je mange un Apple , should not thé AI say Apple in French is pomme, je mange un pomme? I put myself as a beginner, thé description of the app lead me to believe that it would correct or help me when I did not know the word needed in French.
In the end I am very disappointed.
