Deceptive Payment Process
I don’t find this App useful as you can only track and learn one language at a time. If you switch you reset everything. Even worse, I find the financial payment to be deceptive.
Despite a promise to remind before end of 7 day free trial, none was provided. Nevertheless,I checked my subscriptions on the App Store on day before expiration and did not see Pingo to cancel. On the day of expiration, after searching through the Pingo app I finally found manage subscriptions buried under “progress?!?!” I cancelled the subscription and was told it was effective for next year. I didn’t see a charge and it was still not listed in the App Store so I assumed it was an error or a bug.
The following day I noticed I was indeed charged directly by Pingo. I immediately contacted customer care via email and notified my CC company. It’s been 7 days and they still have not responded or even acknowledged my request.
Not only did they circumvent the App Store payment system, they’re also non-responsive to legitimate customer refund requests.

Are you serious? I see all the hype on this app and try it out. I love having a tutor who would correct me on my mistakes, but after completing ONE lesson I get hit with a paywall? Free trial or not there shouldn’t just be a premium trial. There should be other ways for people to learn that doesn’t require paying and until that gets resolved I’m deleting your app.

I was so excited to try this, it seemed like it would work for me. One practice down, I was in love with this app and couldn’t wait to start a streak. Then immediately the next day- start your free trial now. I’m 15. No credit card, no money. I’m not paying for a subscription just to try to learn a language. My whole family speaks Arabic and all I want is to be able to talk to them but I don’t know how to learn and I thought this was going to be perfect. Now I’m going to have to delete it because I quite literally can’t do a subscription to use it.
Save your money
The concept of this app is cool. The the execution is terrible speaking to the flashcards don’t work, and the short lessons are constantly hearing and completely different words than you say. There’s no way to get a refund as there’s no Customer Support other than them telling you to contact Apple. Apple confirmed they don’t control refunds for this app.

When I tried to login, it wouldn’t let me login number one number two it didn’t give me all the right information number three when I try to use my account it said it was wrong so I would recommend not using using if you have to use your school account because it won’t allow trust me and if it does, then I don’t know what school you go to, but for me, it didn’t let me into my account at all so I had to delete this app and it was a real life of money and time I’m not downloading ever again

Hello I did the free trial and canceled it within 24hrs before the charge and a month later they want to charge me 99$ for what? I canceled my subscription with them and deleted the app before I got charged I still had the free trial before I canceled and they wanna charge me? Horrible they want to steal from me I would not recommend.

It offered a free trial. I followed the in app prompts for it and it charged me right away. No trial at all. Would not recommend.

I reached out to support, who said they could not issue a refund and pointed me to the support of their payment processor, who I reached out to and who also refused a refund. If the app has a button that says “start my free week,” it should not charge you then. Bad app development, bad customer service

ONLY ONE FREE LESSON!?!?
Genuinely how money hungry can you get you can provide more then one free lesson and the thing is if you leave the lesson BY ACCIDENT you have to PAY to actually do it!!! Don’t get this app there are better free alternatives
More learning less money
I thought it was good to start but then it asked me for a payment in order to move on to the next lesson, just wish they had a free option where you can still learn without paying a bunch of money. Please do fix this I’d love to use this app someday.
Don’t purchase Pro version
If you want to cancel your subscription, the process is incredibly frustrating. It’s hidden, and they make it difficult to access the cancellation link via email (there’s no clear message in your inbox or even in your spam folder). The app itself seems intentionally designed to prevent cancellations, forcing you to go to an external website instead. Even worse, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.

My Pingo subscription will not cancel no matter what email I use to cancel it. The redemption emails aren’t sending, and I cannot delete my account. And please do not give me the copy and pasted “we recently added an in app cancellation service” because I used it and it will NOT work. I emailed support, and I would like to be able to cancel my subscription before I am charged 100$ by you guys. I see a lot of others have had this experience, and I would like to remind you that this type of this is VERY illegal.
Doesn’t pickup pronunciation properly
I speak Spanish pretty well and sometime it picks it up perfect other times it will say something completely different so it looks like I still need to practice the word. App listening isn’t developed enough.

I thought my phone was broken because no matter what I did it wouldn’t start the next lesson with out Pingo pro .The reason why this made me upset is because they say oh free lessons but exploring cost.this is find but o was clicking on the start lesson button.And unless you have like 83$ a year to spend when you can ask a real human to teach you,i don’t suggest getting this app.
Speaking in the language the whole time
The ai will randomly start fully speaking in the language your trying to learn when giving instructions and it’s hard to understand the ai when it’s speaking in some languages like Russian

I was unable to use the app unless I signed up for a trial, which I was unable to cancel in-app.

i don’t know if i just didn’t look at the payment correctly, but when i did the free trial offer there wasn’t a single thing that said “cancel anytime before….” i think the trial was only supposed to last for 5 days or so. i just been charged $100 for an app i thought i cancelled, and an app i won’t ever use bc i didn’t like it in the first place and had signed out and deleted. Thanks Pingo!

Scam
This app will force you subscribe to a free trial in order to test it out, but then there is literally no way to unsubscribe. I’ve contacted them for 4 days straight and they say that they cannot do anything about it because the subscription is through a different website that doesn’t recognize the email that I Used. When they Billed me, my bank also recognized it as a scam. DO NOT DOWNLOAD

When you try to cancel, there is no button in the app, and their FAQ falsely tells you to cancel through Apple. If you email their customer support, they will gaslight you, refuse to refund you, and tell you to go to Apple (who has no record of the charge). Bad Customer Service
I wanted to see what Pingo Ai. Had to offer with the seven day free trial. Unfortunately midway through the trial I felt as though that this app was not working for me. I emailed customer Support a few few days before my free trial would end requesting to cancel the service. After multiple emails and no response I was charged the $100 subscription. Customer service is still yet to reach out to me.

No Option to Cancel Subscription
I’ve been interested in this platform to get better at speaking a language. And the platform has been pretty helpful during the free trial. But since I don’t have it in my budget to continue, I attempted to cancel the subscription. Usually I’m able to go into the subscription section in the App Store to cancel but I couldn’t find the app listed. There isn’t even a cancel option within the Pingo app itself.
I reached out to support, and they said that it was through “Link”. But I never made an account with them nor have I received any email about Pingo from them. So some third party holds my personal information that I don’t have any access to?? It’s illegal to not have the click-to-cancel option readily available for subscriptions.

Way to difficult to unsubscribe
Way too difficult to manage my subscription. They tried to send me to apple and then last resort after being on them for a few Mins through an email all of a sudden there's a website. Then the site says error and I'm still waiting for them to cancel and keep in mind this is my first day using the app and I don't want to do the full 7 free trail since it's too difficult to even learn how to do it. And worst part the fun ai we see in ads are not the same as the app so that also was a huge let down Like why have an ai cuss on an ad but can't on the app for that fun let loose vibe. Already bad experience in so little time.

RED FLAG Deceptive pricing practice
I was gonna sign up for the free trial (couldn’t do anything without doing this) but the price once the trial ends was NOWHERE to be found. So I decided to look up here in the App Store under “in-app purchases”.
The fact that I have to do this proves this company is OPAQUE AND DECEPTIVE. I have no problem paying for a service but you don’t tell me how much it is right off the batch, this is manipulation and deception. I refuse this game.

I got the free trial after I saw an add. They make it impossible to cancel the subscription after signup for the trial. Even now I don’t know if I’ve even canceled it. This is a scam

I wanted to give it a try and it was ok - seems like I could get the same from ChatGPT. The main problem was they make it hard to cancel the trial! It’s a TRAP. it said it was going to notify before trial ends and I tried to cancel in the settings of the app and it just shows me my subscriptions on the iOS settings page and no Pingo subscription was there. So then I got charged and now have to go through some random site to request a refund and I don’t have the time to be chasing down a support page to request a refund and wait! 99$ for an app per year that I didn’t want to get
