I feel that this game has a lot of potential, but you cannot learn your desired language without starting a trial. I really do not recommend this app if you don't want to pay, I recommend you find another app that's not gonna take all your money away from you. I get that in this economy you have to earn your way of living, but this is not right. You should at least be able to learn without purchasing something.

I explicitly cancelled my subscription on June 6, well before the renewal date. However, the system still automatically charged me US$99.99 on June 8. This is completely unacceptable and seems to be a known bug in your billing system. I have already contacted support for a refund. Please fix this issue immediately and return my money. Be careful if you just want to try this app!
Buggy; Impressive When Working
This program had a number of issues remaining stable, maintaining progress status, loading. It usually took three tries just to start. Once running, the program was extremely impressive and its ability to listen and correct fairly nuanced mistakes.
dont waste your money on this! (zero star)
not useful compare to other tools. you cant really learn much with their lessons. mostly just repeating after what ai said. might as well use the open source ai that talks to you. i regret paying months of subscription. It does not worth what you are paying for. They refuse to refund my subscription when i contact them in less than 1 day after renewal. And i didnt use the app for months. Their customer support is not helpful. Either repeats themselves or ask you to contact somewhere else and they have no control over anything. (including their link platform that they use to make purchase with)

I downloaded this app because I wanted to learn a new language but it turns out you have to pay and force you get a week trial in order to use it.
didn’t refund my subscription
i wanted to learn cantonese but they didn’t have that option so i emailed support to try to cancel the renewal (this was within 2-3 days of renewal). i then disputed the transaction on my credit card and the dispute also failed. very disappointed with customer service hence the 1 star

this app is actually so bad well not at first glance when you press to to start your language you have to pay for everything to learn the the language to speak it it's it's not even fair you have to pay for every little thing I can't even like get like free things that are included in the app because you have to pay for which sucks because who's paying 119 dollars just for learning a language if you're using this good for you because you're paying for it but I'd rather use Duolingo
Not practical
This app makes it very difficult to actually learn any conversation. You can spend infinite time trying to have it understand two words back to back. It would constantly correct a native speaker and even when I recorded the app saying what it wanted said and then played it back it would still try to correct itself. I never did learn any actual conversations because every conversation eventually stalls with some technicality.
This app could not even identify how many syllables a short phrase was. Often suggesting three syllables was two or vice versa. These were not problems that other language apps have, at least the three or four other ones I use.
A native speaking friend of mine could not get through one single beginner lesson without it getting hung up trying to correct him. If you need an app, that will help you develop and recall conversation, this one is not it. If you want an app where you can argue about how much pause there should be at a comma etc., then this one is for you.

Frustrating
Genuinely frustrating if you’re not a complete beginner. It moves at a very slow pace and makes you start with beginner level things even if you list it as otherwise

Costs money
It always puts a bad taste in my mouth when apps make you sign up before telling you that you can’t do anything without spending money. Thank goodness I used my spam email, but that’s still probably an email they used to sell. Rip.
No free version
I’m sure this app is great, but the fact that I couldn’t even do a first lesson without being pushed to buy a subscription is disappointing. Immediately deleted it. Just make sure you know you have to pay for it.

Seems ok for a beginner but as soon as you know the basics the AI keeps trying to explain how to say Grazie and doesn’t adapt to your level.

Impossible to cancel the trial - don’t even download
This app made it impossible to cancel. The subscription does not show up on your Apple Subscriptions, leaving you to believe that you won’t get charged. And once you do, it will be impossible to get refunded.
Keeps throwing in words in German
I dont like that we repeat simple phrazes and then Pingo continues speaking complex sentences in German as though I know what they are saying. At least give me the English. I have asked the app several times to stop throwing complex sentences at me that we have not covered. It makes my progress feel less

I opened the app and was immediately greeted by messages like “start a free trial” “pay this” “pay that” “sign up for a plan”. Having people download a seemingly free app and then being met by a payment popup should be illegal. Extremely unhappy with this app.

Non Latin language
This app only works well if it’s a Latin based language if you know a Latin based language. Tried learned Japanese there’s no way to memorize the entire phase first time learning the language if you can’t see how to pronounce it. Ai slop 🤮
Expensive
Be real careful when starting a trial, because once they charge you for the year that it, there’s no getting a refund. It’d be fine if it was worth paying for it but there are much better apps that don’t charge nearly as much. Would not recommend.
Don't purchase Pro version
If you want to cancel your subscription, the process is incredibly frustrating. It's hidden, and they make it difficult to access the cancellation link via email (there's no clear message in your inbox or even in your spam folder). The app itself seems intentionally designed to prevent cancellations, forcing you to go to an external website instead.
Even worse, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. I couldn't get in touch with their customer service at all. I sent several emails but received no response.

Deceptive Payment Process
I don’t find this App useful as you can only track and learn one language at a time. If you switch you reset everything. Even worse, I find the financial payment to be deceptive.
Despite a promise to remind before end of 7 day free trial, none was provided. Nevertheless,I checked my subscriptions on the App Store on day before expiration and did not see Pingo to cancel. On the day of expiration, after searching through the Pingo app I finally found manage subscriptions buried under “progress?!?!” I cancelled the subscription and was told it was effective for next year. I didn’t see a charge and it was still not listed in the App Store so I assumed it was an error or a bug.
The following day I noticed I was indeed charged directly by Pingo. I immediately contacted customer care via email and notified my CC company. It’s been 7 days and they still have not responded or even acknowledged my request.
Not only did they circumvent the App Store payment system, they’re also non-responsive to legitimate customer refund requests.

Are you serious? I see all the hype on this app and try it out. I love having a tutor who would correct me on my mistakes, but after completing ONE lesson I get hit with a paywall? Free trial or not there shouldn’t just be a premium trial. There should be other ways for people to learn that doesn’t require paying and until that gets resolved I’m deleting your app.

I was so excited to try this, it seemed like it would work for me. One practice down, I was in love with this app and couldn’t wait to start a streak. Then immediately the next day- start your free trial now. I’m 15. No credit card, no money. I’m not paying for a subscription just to try to learn a language. My whole family speaks Arabic and all I want is to be able to talk to them but I don’t know how to learn and I thought this was going to be perfect. Now I’m going to have to delete it because I quite literally can’t do a subscription to use it.
Save your money
The concept of this app is cool. The the execution is terrible speaking to the flashcards don’t work, and the short lessons are constantly hearing and completely different words than you say. There’s no way to get a refund as there’s no Customer Support other than them telling you to contact Apple. Apple confirmed they don’t control refunds for this app.

When I tried to login, it wouldn’t let me login number one number two it didn’t give me all the right information number three when I try to use my account it said it was wrong so I would recommend not using using if you have to use your school account because it won’t allow trust me and if it does, then I don’t know what school you go to, but for me, it didn’t let me into my account at all so I had to delete this app and it was a real life of money and time I’m not downloading ever again

Hello I did the free trial and canceled it within 24hrs before the charge and a month later they want to charge me 99$ for what? I canceled my subscription with them and deleted the app before I got charged I still had the free trial before I canceled and they wanna charge me? Horrible they want to steal from me I would not recommend.

Genuinely how money hungry can you get you can provide more then one free lesson and the thing is if you leave the lesson BY ACCIDENT you have to PAY to actually do it!!! Don’t get this app there are better free alternatives
