Recall is Lacking
I’m getting words that I’ve mastered as “recall” words and there’s no way to mark them as mastered so I can get words I need to recall more. I get “comment ça va?” every day, but not directions or anything like that, even though I’ve completed that lesson, too. If you don’t use it, you lose it. I contacted support about it but they basically just told me to play with my settings and none of that helped. I paid for premium lifetime so I guess I’ll keep using it and hope they improve the recall, but my review will stay the same until it actually properly cycles through all recall cards without starting back at the basics I’ve already mastered. I would recommend waiting to pay for premium until you see how it works after 5 units.

Child Exposed and Traumatized
I’ve played this game for a while and thought that it would be a perfect game for my young nephew. It had bright colors, a cool farm simulator and adventure simulator mixed into one fun game. It’s a game that would be perfect for children! My nephew downloaded the app and I was there with him when we went through the tutorial, and soon we were having a lot of fun and ran out of the daily energy! The app allows up to 200 extra energy if you watch ads, so we clicked on the watch ad button. There were two ads. The first ad was totally fine, something that would be targeted towards kids. The second advertisement, however, morphed my kids face into terrified confusion and mine into astonished disgust. It was an inappropriate ad of women doing things I cannot say on this ad. My CHILD nephew was just exposed to an 18+ advertisement. Upon further research online, this was NOT the first occurrence of an 18+ ads coming from this app. My heart hurts for any other child who may have been exposed to things they should not have been. I know it may be hard with the cruel people who try to be clever with their ads to make it slip through, but please CRACK DOWN on these ads. This shouldn’t have to happen. I don’t think I can stomach having this app anymore.

French Needs Work
I paid for a lifetime subscription and I am getting more and more frustrated with my decision by the day. The French course needs a lot of work and the staff is not taking it seriously.
Fun but
It’s really fun to play the game but there’s the issue it’s more of a game and less of a learning tool. I’m left confused as to why there’s so many inefficiencies, why have a write it feature and not have the ability to write it when you get it wrong, when you have adhd the inconvenience of having to write it when you get it wrong is really good motivation to focus and pay attention to what you’re selecting. Or at least a review after you get something incorrect, The daily quests aren’t scaled to how much time you want to spend playing each day, but a random gamble if you can finish it all during your breaks, or fun study session. Where’s the reward for mastering a card? I’m not asking for a major thing but maybe a few ludos or a nice looking animation that only plays when you complete the card, or maybe a chapter master reward, something fun to push you to learn more but not punishing you for not learning fast enough, so it different from just playing in review mode only but not overly challenging when you don’t have the energy to learn something new but still want to review. Ultimately it’s a game that you can practice with but it’s easy to get distracted by completing quests and such.
You need energy to play
To play and to learn, you need “energy.” You can buy more energy as an option. But without having to buy anything you only get about 3 minutes of game play a day without the energy. Not really worth it if you can’t play.
Endless In App Purchases
I purchased the lifetime subscription thinking that would 1: allow for family sharing with more than one kid on my account being able to play and 2: that it would end the IAPs. I was wrong on both counts. Only one child can have a username and play. The game pushes monthly purchases on the kids even after you pay for lifetime. Too bad.
Bad for Brazilian Portuguese
I’ve mostly played the farmstead side of the games, so I can’t really comment on how fun the battle side is, but I think the farming game is pretty engaging. It has a good balance of needing energy from lessons to do activities.
My main issue is that there are so many mistakes in the Brazilian Portuguese course. I’m married to a Brazilian, so I have them check when I learn new words to make sure they’re correct. He says that many of the words are European Portuguese. I’ve submitted error reports for any one we’ve spotted, but they are really egregious, and I haven’t noticed any correction having been made yet. Until they fix up this course I couldn’t give it a better review.
