I want to see if an app is worth it before we do all that. Maybe I would have found this useful enough to purchase but we’ll never know because you were too greedy to let me make just one list for free before charging me.
Unable to log in or reach CS
I tried to open this app today, just like I’ve done many times over the last 7 months. My subscription is good until November. This time it wouldn’t open until I logged in. I had no idea what my login creds are, and when I tried to use the Forgot password option, no reset email came. I’ve tried to reach out to customer support, but that just opens the 404 Error page. I want my subscription $$ back for my next 4.5 months.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP AT ALL!! As soon as I bought this, it charged me $10 dollars and on top of that as soon I got into the app I needed a subscription! So I got the free trail, and you can’t decorate the list or anything! Stick with regular notes please.
WAS a good app
I don’t know why this happens to every app. They’ve got a good thing going, they get a solid fanbase, and then BOOM! We get screwed over! I’ve had this app for years and they’ve always been a tad bit money hungry, but it was never a huge thing. Yknow, you have to pay for extra colors and those funky emoji banners, but the rest is free. I could live with that. But now I CANT EVEN GET IN WITHOUT PAYING A YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION!! THEY DONE LOCKED ME OUT!! 🤣🤣 And to my knowledge, they haven’t added anything new, except for this paywall!! How fun!😀 Don’t waste your money. Make a list on the notes app if you have to. It’s basically the same thing.
Bait and switch
It appeared to be free but after downloading, a screen pops up to start a "free" 14 day trial. It can not be used, or even explored unless you do the trial.
I NEVER, EVER do "trials". They get your credit card number and then it's impossible to cancel. I've had to cancel CREDIT CARDS to get companies to stop charging me!

Overpriced, Underwhelming, extremely disappointing, and Unresponsive Support
I’m extremely disappointed with this app. It’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had with any application.
The features are severely lacking, especially when compared to what many other apps offer completely free of charge.
After quickly realizing how poor the functionality was, I immediately requested a refund , yet received no response at all.
It seems the developers are banking on users forgetting to cancel the free trial so they can charge a surprisingly high fee for a service that simply doesn’t deliver.
I’ve genuinely tried to use the app despite my frustration, but it’s been nothing but a waste of time.
This experience has reminded me to be much more selective going forward , things really aren’t always what they appear to be.
If it were possible to leave zero stars, I would. One star feels far too generous for this level of service.

“Free” app demands money
Upon opening this “free” app, users are immediately hit with a screen offering their (expensive) subscription service and demanding to know why you don’t want to subscribe.

Time to renew however,
I’ve been using it for a year and love it. It is time to renew. However there is nothing explaining the different yearly plans and why they are priced differently. When I click on app support it’s says page cannot be found :( I also noticed that they have new features that I cannot access. Please help.

I upgraded my iPhone , from an iPhone 12 Pro Max toan iPhone 15 Pro Max........ my passwords did not all transfer over and List Maker was one of them. I am trying to reset my password, but it’s not sending me the link to my email to do it. i’ve been waiting for three hours to have the link sent to me so I can reset my password and nothing‘s happening. I’ve checked my. Email I’ve checked my spam and I’ve also checked my trash and there’s no email… All I need is the link so I can reset my password please. I do not want to cancel my subscription because I do like this app very much but if I can’t reset my password it’s useless.
Purchase Plan to Use 👎🏽
This app was great until I had to purchase a plan to use. Just using it in its simplest form was really good. Not enough there “for me” to purchase a plan to use. Looking for another app to use.
A list app shouldn’t be a subscription
As the title says, an app about making lists shouldn’t be a $30 a year subscription. I’d rather pay an upfront $5 for an app than be told I can’t use an app because I didn’t pay them twice.

It says free but it’s not once you download it you have to select a plan. I didn’t select one and deleted it from my phone. I hope they don’t charge me now.

To even get STARTED, you need a plan or subscription. And there is NO “FREE” plan. The only plans they have are a family plan and a single plan. Again, NO FREE PLAN OPTION. Companies these days piss me off. All they want is money, money, money, and more money.

I got this app a good while ago and ended up getting the yearly subscription for all the features. I like the artwork and customization options with fonts and colors and only paid $4.99 a year. Fast forward to 2025 and I wanted to get my kids the app so they could have a list where they add things they want for birthdays and Christmas and I could see them without them having to send them to me in a text. The subscriptions have changed and now they want a ridiculous amount of money for a “subscription” that doesn’t give you anything new monthly or even yearly. Subscriptions were for magazines and newspapers where you’d get a new one to read either weekly or monthly. Why should I pay you a subscription fee when I don’t get ANYTHING new added to the app at reasonable intervals? Asinine, absurd, and straight up GREEDY! I deleted my app AND my subscription to get the Apple native list app. Maybe not as stylish but, has all the same features and doesn’t cost me a penny! DO BETTER!
Good if you want to pay
I have used this app for a few years for grocery lists, packing lists, etc. and it worked well and I enjoyed the colour choices, however recently I’ve noticed you have to pay to be able to use certain colours and features but it didn’t really impact my daily use of the app. I got a new phone and now the app doesn’t even give me an option to create any free lists or access the app at all. I just get stuck on a screen to select my subscription with no exit button. It WAS a good app but I’m not going to pay to write a list on my phone.
Cumbersome
This is a visually impressive app but one which is ultimately cumbersome to use. I’d like to copy an entire list and paste into another document, but it’s impossible (you have to do it one bullet at a time). Exporting through email is possible only if you’re using Apple Mail (I use Thunderbird). In my view, there’s too much emphasis on pretty and not enough on function.
A decent app, but there are better
I have subscribed to and enjoyed this app for several years and found it to be worth using. But, and this is a big but, if you are an Apple user, there is a far better app! Try using Apple‘s own app ofReminders. It is already set up to be a grocery list with all the appropriate categories already organized for you. I find it to be much more user-friendly and the icing on the cake is that it’s free! Now that Reminders is set up I would never go back to List Maker!
30 Bucks a Year????
It’s a decent app, but, are you kidding me? $30 per year for individual or $40 per year for family? Nope. Nuh-uh. Not a chance. Not at all worth it. Developers are CRAAAAAZY.
Nice app but you’ll pay
I had this app on my old phone. I backed up my phone so when I had to get a new phone I would have the data. For whatever reason, the data won’t backup and when I did get the new phone, it wouldn’t honor the version I had an forced me to buy “Premium” in order to use the app at all. The trial wouldn’t even work so I could try to get my data. Very disappointed into being conned into needing a subscription for $39 to make lists.
Like it bit customer service
I like this app. I would like to try premium as a trial for a second Turk before paying for it. The options aren’t competitive so why pay here when elsewhere is a better rate. I used a trial 4 years ago and cannot try even for days again before spending. I make said figures so it’s not the money, it’s the principle and frustration feeling like I’m being sold too hard with how they set premium up. They’ve take away free features so now the app is essentially useless and functions are so limited unless you pay for premium. Please add back some free user features like the ability to create more than 3 lists, option to use other fonts besides basic iOS or the ghetto “chalk” one corresponding with the theme.. and why only 7 font options? Maybe include Aptos so professionals don’t feel like they look 10 with their digital note taking.. anyway.. The simplicity and design is nice otherwise, decent choice on colors and main interface makes since for my neurodivergent brain. Also maybe make the check bucket option in lists smaller so I often have to increase the font size and can fit more in each list. I love the emoji list templates. Unique to them. Thanks

To be honest, if they had a calendar function that would keep track of when you did each daily recurring item, I would give it more stars. But as it is, it is as advertised, just a list app. Which has its purpose, but does not suit my needs.
