The ads for this app are entirely misleading. The claim is personalization, but the reality is very basic general advice. The app forces you wait 24 hours between each “lesson” so that you can’t access all the relevant information right away. Probably so you end up stuck in a subscription. The app is also super glitchy with pictures missing. Often the outfit in the picture doesn’t match the links to buy, which defeats the entire purpose. When I have tried to buy items, that process also doesn’t work, charging my card without completing the purchase. Do not waste your money!

Lumi is a FRAUD
I have tried to unsubscribe and have not been successful. Instead, I am billed several times a month by $99 or $69.99 or $39.99. I have not purchased anything. Unsubscribe me from the LUMI family of webpages. Stop billing me! This has been over 6 months!

Do not use. This app is a fraudulent enterprise and I currently have open fraud cases with my bank and Apple. They charged me the fee and now will not let me use my $500 to check out my cart. They have stolen my money. Support? Just an AI chatbot loop with generic “we’re looking into it, give us 7 days” but nothing happens. It’s been three weeks of the app not functioning properly and my balance being unavailable. THEY ARE FRAUDS AND CHEATS - do NOT SUBSCRIBE.

I purchased this app thinking it would be helpful in styling and would actually have suggestions from a real stylist but not the case. I went through the questions and just was not impressed. I reviewed the clothing selections and there were not many options , just cycling back through the same lackluster pieces. I even requested a refund of the membership fee within hours and they refused to refund. I got PayPal involved and they did not seem to think there was an issue with their business model. I later researched Lumi styling and found over hundreds of customers who had similar complaints as mine. I don’t suggest this company. They also reset my profile once I initiated a complaint through PayPal. They don’t let you use all the membership fee credit at once so they keep you spending more money with them. I don’t plan to give this lowdown scheming company another dime. Buyers beware and there are many other real styling companies you can use. This was my personal opinion and experience with this company.

I have requested a cancellation 2x from this company… they have repeatedly ignored by requests to cancel even though they have acknowledged my request to cancel emails… I’ve tried to cancel through their website but cannot access their subscription management page (the link is broken). Reselling name brand clearance rack clothes
Before I knew it I had over 2k in credits which means they took that much out of my bank over the last 6 months. To use the credits you pick out clothes from the app. All ai generated models.

Terrible
Big markup from original vendor’s pricing. Out of stock items, limited sizing. Not user friendly. This app feels super scammy the way it works. Hated my experience. I still have over $400 in the account and it’s so difficult to find what you’re looking for due to stock and sizing limitations. Would not recommend.
Conning customers
I signed up to see how the service worked. Scrolled through it once and following that I was charged for months a recurring charge of 39.99. Every month I went in the app to cancel the service and every time it appeared the service was canceled and then a pop up appeared that said there is a bug. I guess the company has no long term moat to meaningful recurring revenue so they prefer to con users into continually being charged with this convenient “bug” that resides at the cancellation link. When I called their support line one of the first prompts is “if you’d like to cancel this service please press..” this tells me I’m not the only user with this experience. After explaining the issue to customer support they said they’d follow up via email. I quickly got a follow up saying they would not refund even 1 month of service despite the fact they got more than 6 months of revenue from me. In a cloudy competitive market I’d hope the founder of this company had a more long term mindset but I guess they don’t care about customer service.

This app was not what I expected and I canceled within one to two days of downloading it but they have been very difficult and they said they will not issue a refund. Very disappointing. Unfortunately I used Affirm and I still owe the total will be $90.72 for what? Nothing - they charged me and I have gotten zero benefit. They are a fraudulent company in my opinion.

No ability to cancel, they will keep trying to charge you at different amounts until it is approved. If you try to cancel a subscription, you get an error message to contact support by email. Email is never answered and subscription never cancelled.. If you look at their legal and privacy policy, their legal policy always says there was an error and to contact support.

Please don’t sign up for this clothing styling subscription. Once you do, you can never figure out how to cancel it and the instructions they email you on how to cancel just takes you in circles, never allowing you to cancel it. You will be charged over and over until you are forced to cancel your debit/credit card that you used to sign up with. By that time, you are out a few hundred dollars. If you are lucky. This company is a scam located in the country of Cyprus (not Las Vegas as they claim) so there is no recourse. They stole over $700 from me after I placed an order based on their recommendations and they failed to fulfill every item on that order. When I requested a refund they told me they were unable to locate the order/account even after I gave them the exact order number and screenshots of the order and account information on their app. Any inquiry I make gets the same auto reply regardless of any information I provide saying they cannot find my account or order number even though I can log into the app and see my order number with cancellation from Lumi.
BEWARE: Unethical Subscription Charge
The app in itself seems solid. However, I don’t see fit for use so I haven’t logged on since last year. Today I see a $200 charge all of a sudden on my credit card. No notification at all: no push notification in app (mine was turned on), no email, and this app subscription wasn’t even listed within Apple’s subscription view. While the app could have delivered great value, the sneaky charges are completely unethical due to the lack of inform. I reached out to their customer service team and was talking to an AI bot, who was incredibly unhelpful. Until they fix their inform of charge, BEWARE and I don’t recommend downloading.

I proceeded to immediately cancel the service and ask for only to find out that I was charged an unauthorized $29 to download the app!! better Business Bureau has rated them as an F do not do business with these scammers.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with LUMI. I signed up with LUMI in 2025 and from the start it was complete frustration. The personal stylist that was supposed to have an appointment with me over the phone never would complete the appointment time so I would have to reschedule. I gave up on that and just decided the pics that were on the app according to my style and the things I like. None of the items picked out for me. Would I ever wear. I decided to cancel my subscription on March 3, 2025. I sent an email to LUMI to please cancel my subscription. I was told it would be canceled. Turns out 2026 rolls around February 13 and $199.99 was taken out of my account from LUMI and are refusing to refund the money even though I sent them the email I sent in 2025. I wouldn’t leave a bad review if they would’ve at least listened that I need all my money to go towards cancer treatments at the moment and even then they refuse to send back my money that I need for cancer treatments, which are expensive. Please do not use this app. Save yourself the headache.
Deceptive Billing/ Curated options don’t work
Deceptive Billing: after signing up for a low cost fee, $29.64 and cancelling services (January 12) a $58.99 fee was charged on February 9th. Additionally pricing for styling services is not clearly defined or provided upfront leading to continued costs and is not provided in the app. Steps for cancellation are provided through the app, however additional directions to cancel by sending a request to customer care is not provided. If you have paid through PayPal you also have to cancel your automatic payment there. Curated outfits are on the extreme side of conservative. Unable to update app to request or change the style of clothing provided. Advertisements boast “learn how to build a personalized capsule.” The app does not have this feature or provide the option for wardrobe capsule design. Requested a refund from Lumi 4 days ago and they have not responded.

Don’t do it! It’s mostly AI. Their customer service is horrible. They will take at least 5 days to respond to your issues and then when they do respond and you respond back it takes another 3-5 days. I didn’t realize this was a subscription service at first and after I saw a charge on my card after the initial payment I made I cancelled my subscription. I decided to try and order some outfits and come to find out the money you pay is considered rewards points. So they apply your rewards points towards a portion of your order but you still have to pay more money. I placed an order for 4 items. I waited a good 3 weeks for them and still didn’t receive them. I looked on my account and it showed 2 items shipped and 1 out of stock and the other was being processed. I emailed them about the out of stock item and this is where the communication went downhill. When they finally did get back to me they told me they would give me points back on my account for the item out of stock. I told them I don’t want the points I want the $41 “extra” that I paid back on my credit card I used. I’m still waiting for that refund. The other item finally came in a week and a half ago and I didn’t like it so I emailed them and they said they would send me an email in a few days??? And it will have instructions on how to return it. That hasn’t happened yet either. Don’t waste your money. I reported them to the BBB and come to find out they have many complaints.
Update: I did finally get my refunds. Unfortunately it took many hours of emails between BBB and Lumi customer service and me pushing the issue. Me personally am done using them. It’s not worth my time, money or stress.

One star - no product
The tips and information on this are good. However, the clothing that you order is not good quality. And I am still waiting on items that I anticipate I will never receive. I have tried to cancel my membership for over a week now and I have no means to do so. I finally filed a protest with my credit card and I’m going to have to end up canceling my credit card to get ride of my credit card to stop the membership fees. This service is a scam.

This is not a bug - it is a pattern of deceptive subscription practices. I have escalated this to regulators. Use extreme caution.

Rip off
I don’t usually bother to write a review but this is such a rip off. Zero tailoring to who you are - they asked and I specially said I don’t wear flats or long skirts. I’m petite - all of the suggestions were frumpy and for much larger women. Can’t understand how anyone would find value in this. Feel like I was scammed.

I checked this app, and you must pay-per-view over $100. Just to look at it, and then they charge you another $30 to exit the app. After looking at it for a few minutes I decided it was not what I expected and spent less than 2 hours trying to cancel this and get a refund. They refused to refund me. So, They basically took my money and I got nothing in return. Be aware, money for nothing.

I see that the initial email they sent warned me in the tiny fine print at the bottom that there would be a quarterly $99 fee, which shocked me as I never entered sizing, clothing, or other information. I hate scam subscription apps like this and will never join such an app again. I literally don’t remember putting my credit card info in, or finishing creating my account, which you’d think would mean no quarterly charges would be assessed. Scam.

AI generated pictures and charge you without even getting style advice. Your card information is asked up front you are charged even prior to completing any style advice quiz. I escalated to get a refund as I never used their services and they refuse to refund me. I HAVE REPORTED THEM TO APPLE. They have multiple reviews of charging people for no service being provided. Other also claim the clothes they received does not match the pictures. They are making money of people just downloading an app because they enter their card information.

Never even got any clothing and I am so disappointed. I received an ad for this company on Instagram. I am not good at styling outfits for work and it was advertised on insta as if They were picking the clothes and just Sending it to me for a monthly subscription. After taking forever to do their quizzes, signing up, an getting the app I was told to pay $32 for 12 weeks. It Seemed like I would pay this Monthly and they would send an outfit. Afterwards It just showed me an account balance and said I was to purchase clothing using my balance. I was then so confused when all of a sudden I was charged Another $20 on my card and still don't understand what that was for. I had a balance in the app of $52 dollars and even though I was annoyed that this service was nothing like it seemed in the ad, I figured I’d look around and just buy something and not use the app again after. The kicker was I couldn't find any items for Under $52 worth purchasing when I thought I'd receive a whole outfit for $32!!! So, I sent a message on the app asking for a refund. To my surprise they actually emailed me very quickly on the matter but Refused to Refund Me!!! Eventually they just stopped answering my emails. Stay away this is such a scam!

I was matched with someone who found me a ok outfit, but when i tried to buy the outfit, some of the clothes were out of stock, so when i tried to get my money back, they just gave me a voucher for less than what i paid for usable within a certain time frame. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and paid again the $30 shipping fee, and the items were still out of stock!! Again they cant refund me the money so they gave me another voucher and jow im out $60 for NOTHING because they dont refund for shipping NOTHING. If you are a busy person, this is so NOT the app to use. Everything is also so over priced for the quality. thinking well at the very least the quality should be decent or good, i tried ONE MORE TIME. when i finally got my outfit, it felt like i was wearing a very thin layer of plastic. They say you can use your balance toward purchases, which is a half truth. You can use a percentage of the balance THAT THEY ALREADY CHARGED. So basically you can use about half the money they took from your bank account toward any single purchase. Also, they run out of inventory for outfits shown and “replace” pieces with suggestions that aren’t nearly as nice. The suggested styles I got weren’t at all my style either. I tried to engage more for a better algo response, but it only got mildly better. All around disappointment.
