Getting too expensive
Like most companies lift has become very selfish. They don’t pay their workers enough and then they overcharge customers I had to pay $70 to travel 20 minutes. And then they decided to make people pay more. If we want to get a driver near us we have to pay an extra five to $10 and they just call it priority pick up when it used to be. That’s just what automatically would get

flawed system flawed drivers
Scheduled a pickup the night before for a 5:45am pickup. I came outside at 5:44am to greet the driver, and asked for a second to collect my bags inside. Left the door ajar. Came back outside at 5:49am to see the driver pulling away without me. Chased down the car only to be told the app dropped my ride for “taking too long” and still charged me a $10 fee for a ride the app decided to cancel. Ended up having to pay nearly double the price to still get a ride and get to the airport on time.
Flawed up down left and right makes no sense why they’d cancel when contact with the driver was made.

Poor respect for passengers
Lyft takes advantage of the fact that writers do not want to take a higher priced ride so they make you wait like 35 minutes before even putting your ride out there and then even longer to get your ride to come to you. They try to extort more money out of you by holding out on all the drivers that are closer to you and more convenient so that they can get paid more and the drivers the drive from farther away make less.

Multiple times now I have requested a Lyft, been assigned a driver, waited until the driver was almost there, only to have the driver cancel and then they start the whole process over again! Wait times that were supposed to be 7 minutes turned into an actual 20+ minute wait time. Ridiculous. I can only assume they are trying to force people to upgrade to a “premium” service in the hopes of getting better service times.

Unsafe
Quite the fall from grace for a once good app. Miserable experience with driver and customer service “rep” that felt like a “challenged” ai chatbot. Driver changed his mind two blocks into the ride and kicked me out of his car. Lyft ai is still working up the courage to tell me how “sorry” they are.

Promos not working and no customer service help
A few days ago I really needed a ride home from work and I remembered on my doordash account it said if I signed up as a new rider with lyft I would get $10 off my first two rides, so I was excited to try out Lyft and the features they had. I was very careful to follow the steps to sign up and link my account as to not mess anything up, but when I went to actually book the ride the 10% off promo was the only option available. I am not sure if it’s an error on Doordashes end or Lyft, but I took a screen shot of the original promo through Doordash just in case this exact thing happened. I contacted Lyft support and shared my info and the screenshots as proof. They said it was clear I followed the correct steps and that they would investigate. I waited patiently for over an hour, but I needed a ride soon, so I asked if there was any updates. By then based on the messages it sounded like I was matched with a new support person. They basically said they needed to escalate this and someone would be emailing me, and when I expressed I was trying to use it for now they told me to stop replying to them which felt very rude and unhelpful. It’s been days and still nothing. Even if they got me the coupon to somehow work it was only good for new riders for 14 days from sign up and I rarely use these types of services. It was overall a frustrating experience. I understand that sometimes theres not much you can do as a customer support person, or that solutions can take time, but at the minimum I expect some communication and follow through.
Also the pricing?? $27.90 for an 8-10 minutes drive is insane, and that’s after applying a discount. Without it said $30.99. That’s just for standard and also before tip. Ubers prices were better and has better customer service

Picky Lyft Drivers

Women Connect is pointless
Don’t bother if you’re a woman who is interested in using Woman Connect to pair with women and nonbinary drivers. I had my preferences set to always prefer women drivers and I have had male drivers the entire week. I even chose “Wait and Save” to avoid being paired with a man, but still got a man. Don’t advertise something like Women Connect if it never actually works out like you say it will.

I ride or try to ride a lift every morning to get to work. It’s usually a reasonable price but as of the last week, Lyft has been trying to charge me over $20 to get to work in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Your prices are now higher than Uber. Congratulations.

Reliable turned into not reliable
Back then, Lyft was better than Uber but it completely change. First, the pick up location was incredibly off to the area that i picked, mind you that the location was in front of my house. Second, the driver didn’t even go to the chosen location, but farther away. Then, the driver completely ditched us and left before the wait time fee even reached. Third, the price doubled and even tripled at times than the first reliable prices. Lastly, when my dad was a lyft driver, he didn’t get much money from it than before. If it was the same as back then or at least have cheaper price, then I would’ve given a 4 or 5 star

Poor service
I was automatically signed out of my account with $75 Lyft cash and all my linked cards (on my current account) were not visible; I tried signing in and the app kept saying “oops something went wrong please try again…” and continued to get the same message.

Consistent in getting my address wrong
It’s useful when it wants to be but why do I always have to be consistently playing games with the app getting my address correct. Creates frustration for both me as the rider and the driver. Very irritating
