AI Doesn’t Work

WHAT AN AWFUL APP!!
Paid for a subscription and the app won’t recognize it. Stuck in a loop asking me to subscribe again, and “Restore Purchases” doesn’t work. Tried reinstalling and logging in/out-nothing. Currently paying for something I can’t even use. Frustrating.
Misleading
They should be more upfront about the cost of this app. No reason for me to download the app and fill out a ton of information only for me to realize it will cost me $6-12 per month. No free version which is fine, but that should be easier to see before the app is downloaded.
Horrible customer service and app doesn’t work
The app let me sign up for a subscription, confirmed the subscription and then stuck me in a loop trying to get me to continuously subscripbe. Customer service was useless just repeating the same script regardless of how many times I told them there was no option to sign out and restoring purchases did nothing.
No free value
This app has no value unless you pay for subscription. There is zero value.
Unless you ready to pay monthly subscription of at least $5, skip downloading the app.

Not accurate calculations and nowhere to find help
I logged several meals and this app COMPLETELY miscalculated the macros! I entered the recipe link and entered the correct serving size. The recipe had 45g of protein, and it calculated 9g of protein. I searched all over to find a way to contact someone and see what was going on… nothing. And the “help button” only gives two options and no trouble shooting.
cant see weekly calories
this app sucks. once the week is over, it’s impossible to see a weekly total for your calories. No way to tell how many calories I ate last week.
Waste of time
spend 5 to 10 minutes curating and crafting your own profile just to be met with a paywall, and then just sell off all my information when I delete the app
Waste
Scammed me for a dumb calorie amount no sane person will eat 800 calories a day unless you have anorexia (which I don’t) I think it pretty common knowledge that it’s unhealthy to eat under 1500 calories I paid 70 buck for some bs
Not worth the price
This app is marketed as a next level calorie tracker to lose weight. However, the interface is not user friendly at all. It is extremely hard to find your overview of macronutrients for the day, and there’s no tracker for micronutrients that I saw. It also has a terrible database for tracking foods, I couldn’t even find a standard 150 calorie pre-packaged rice krispy treat! The free version of My Fitness Pal is 10x better than this app. Also, it put me at an 800kcal deficit to lose 1 lb a week?! That’s extreme, not sustainable, and dangerous!
Help
Can i not see foods i logged last week to re log them? Why do i have to save it to my favorites
Waste of time
Anything that makes me spend five minutes entering my personal data then to ask me to pay a subscription pisses me tf off
Ai pictures are permanently loading for the last month
The app was working great until ai pictures were stuck analyzing 100% of the time. I have deleted and reinstalled about 5 times - and it never fixed itself. Unfortunate since it’s a great app otherwise but the pictures are a big reason why I would use this over mfp.
Not worth money
I have been following Jeff’s science based tool for a long time so after the app was launched I excitedly got it. I chose 6month paid option to aid with my fat loss journey. As I started using it, I realized the algorithm is all jacked up. My BMR on conservative side is 1700. After a month of regular use, the app’s check in function dropped my cals to 1400. This is ludicrous given the fact that going this low would trigger other medical issues like Thyrodism (Hypo/Hyper). After few weeks of use, I have stopped using this app. The food tracking is also very cumbersome compared to free apps. My recommendation, use a free calories tracking app, do your due diligence in calculating your macros and stick to it. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this app. This review is only for the app. I still like JN’s science based workout philosophy.
App is Great, but the privacy promise is misleading and the AI feature is laughable
As far as the app’s usability, it is great. No real complaints. However:
1) they claim to value user privacy, but only allow you to pay for the app via Apple or Google Play Services. It has been at least two years since I asked them to fix this.
2) they include an AI scanner that purports to determine an item’s nutritional information with a picture. This is farcical.
All of the investment they put into this terrible AI feature could have gone into allowing users to pay for their service on the web (which would actually help them get around the mafia-esque cut taken by Apple and Google). Instead, they chase the same moronic fad the rest of the industry is chasing.

Not user friendly
I tried twice to get comfortable using this app. I just don’t have the hours necessary to sit and study their usage instructions.
I'm not paying to be your beta tester
It's 2026 in your AI is absolutely horrible. Your scanner is also absolutely horrible. I'm not going to pay a premium price to be your batter tester for your app to get the types of food. I eat wrong very consistently and I have to go in and correct it so you can save it and get free work and analysis off of me. Train your models to learn what foods look like and do better before you put this stupid app out on the market. I'm tired of stupid companies like you making people pay for an app while making us be beta testers. I pay you you make an app and the app works for me with minimal error. And any developer that uses their customers as beta testers because they're too lazy to go out and do their own work doesn't deserve customers. This is the worst app I've ever used and I'm blaming Jesse James West for this.
Quick add feature is so annoying
Can't edit the name after putting in the entry. Gotta delete and re-enter. Sometimes it adds the macros for total cals, sometimes it doesn't. There is so much stupid friction in this app that needs fixing
Struggles with integrations
The MF app struggles to integrate with the health app even when my scale is on full write and MF is set to full read. It’s a decent app minus this fatal flaw
No exercise logging
Lacks basic functionality from all other nutrition trackers
Poor regionalization implementation
Downloaded and paid for a subscription based off of Jeff Nippard’s video about his trip to Japan. Lo and behold, if your iTunes account is not Japanese, you will get NONE of the regional database for Japanese foods in Japan.
For reference I travel to Japan to work every month for a week.
AI logger constantly logs a photo of actual freshly prepare ramen noodles for instant ramen, because you westerners have culturally appropriate the word to mean instant noodles.
For reference, most apps with regional restrictions use IP/location based systems to determine whether or not users get access to content for licensing reasons (which I was told is the case). Macrofactor has a whole separate Japanese app, which, you cannot get without a Japanese iTunes account.

Incorrect data
Basically none of the data is correct. Do you have to enter all your own data if you want correct macros.
