Too many ads, too much pay to play, and it crashes every 2-3 minutes

This game has one of the WORST processes for logging into accounts on another device. Basically went back-and-forth with “support” for two weeks, trying to get data transferred from my iPhone to my iPad for them to basically tell me that I have to just end up, having to only use my phone for this account that I have now and that I’m basically out of luck. Now it’s going on another week and they have stopped answering my emails. Which is very unfortunate because I put a lot of support and money into this game and as much as I love this game if I’m unable to play it on my other device, I’m going to cancel my VIP and just end up deleting the game. There will be no point in continuing as I am planning to upgrade phones and the data transferring process is ridiculous. (May 28th update): Still was unable to have my data transferred and was provided gems but still unhappy about the situation and MeChat support is very rude…

The amount of money they charge for poorly written “stories” that haven’t been proofread is insane. There are characters who have been in the game for years that still have absurd typos and errors, and they’re still absurdly priced. Even when you pay $10 for an “exclusive” character you’re still expected to dole out more money for “premium” choices in dialogue, with the free option often presented as clearly negative and thus forcing the player to pay or get a lesser story- again, this is even on characters you pay money to unlock and have access to. Every time I open the app, there are several pop ups I have to close, each prompting to spend more and more money at exorbitant prices for the quality they give. Recent events have had choices (the ONLY positive choices) cost 68+ gems.

theres no reason to use generative ai its sloppy and disappointing

The app plays unnecessary music now and I can’t turn it off. I can’t even hear the audio when I pay for it with diamonds. Please fix. Your app doesn’t need it. And it’s really loud and annoying

It keeps on freezing every 10 minutes making it impossible to even play and when it freezes it freezes the whole phone to the point I can’t turn it off

Game was mildly entertaining but then it looked like AI was being used and the quality became slop. The ads are tacky and the images suck

I usually love this game but today I had purchased diamonds multiple times and the sacred items but never received them

This game was fun, I like the first characters and the stories although it took a long time to have any update. Some characters have a coming end to the story but it seems to being dragged for long so the user keeps spending.
The new characters are great, that’s the only thing that remains but it’s now all very heavily written by AI and it shows. Things like “with one hand holds your arm, with the others cups the back of your head and with his thumb touches your lips”, how many arms does this guy has? Lol… there are many syntax errors, characters don’t move, just stay stagnant so the story doesn’t move fast and you can milk more money from users, scenarios are also done with AI… there’s a lot… but the worst thing is the quality of writing evidently not human

It’s “written” by AI, the backgrounds are AI, and the voice lines are AI. It’s just low quality generated slop. Just pay real artists and voice actors instead of destroying the environment and letting robots steal jobs.

I used to like this because it used to start off with messages before deciding to go on dates so you could actually see if you liked a character enough to go out. It also gave you customizable options for your character. Well I redownloaded it and it glitches so bad that I couldn’t get through the customization before I had to close the app. Then it didn’t let me go back to fix it and just gave me a base character model. No way to fix it or start over. And now every character you match with is an immediate date. No “getting to know them before swiping” no build up no nothing. Not worth it anymore especially since I have to close the app every 2 minutes and restart. I have a 16 pro for goodness sake

Graphics is soooo poor, the ladies has men statue, the story is boring. U guys should upgrade or end the game. I’m deleting now, felt annoyed with what I saw after downloading. Episode still remains the best

Y’all would probably have a lot more users if you made it easier to get through stories. There’s hundred on there, but I’ve been working on one for a week and it’s so frustrating that I will be deleting the app.

I used to love this game but deleted it because I got bored but it now I see you putting the art through ai? That’s highly unethical and I’m incredibly disappointed especially since you had talented artists but are ruining the environment just to animate cheaper

TL;DR do not download this game, if you have uninstall it. You have to pay $$$ to even slightly enjoy a game that values $ over their players. With update!
Mini key: Gems = the games currency Dates/stories = an illustrated interaction you have with your character of choice level up = once you spend a certain amount of gems you level up your character of choice and get some gems back (up to 30 gems max)
I’ve been playing this game for years. In the beginning it was a little hard to play without spending money but it was tolerable. You could watch and ad to bring characters back online faster, you could increase your bond with characters to get gems, etc. Now it’s nearly impossible, even with the $15 membership. The perks are barely worth it anymore.
It’s now super hard to level up/increase your bond with players. They increased the amount of gem options during stories to the point where you have to spend several hundred gems per chapter. For reference it cost $19.99 to get the 400 gem package, the membership perk barely gets you 200 gems (that’s if you log in daily), you can try watching 1 minute ads for gems (you only get five gems per ad, and you can only watch 3 ads every hour), they’ll give you 10 complementary gems (every 6 hours).
They’ve shortened stories immensely as well. They’ll cut 1 story(date) into 2 parts to entice you to spend 15 gems instead of waiting 4 hours to maybe finish the second half of the story. If you’ve never played the game there’s dialogue between stories sometimes, and they’ve conveniently increased the dialogue between dates/stories while shorting the stories. Making you wait sometimes over 8 hours to finish the part 2 to a story that they used to allow you to finish all at once.
They also have an issue with constantly creating new characters but not finishing/updating the ones they’ve already introduced. Sometimes it’ll take them over 6 months to update a character’s story.
They’ve also ruined the holiday themed events. For holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day, etc, they would have these fun little events. Where you would have to complete different chapters for a select amount of characters and then you’d get some gems, accessories for your avatar, and sometimes new clothes/hair. You didn’t have to use gems at all before, but of course they’ve now made it so you need to spend gems in order to complete the events. Not to mention that the events will take twice as long to complete since they’ve gotten rid of the option to watch an ad to bring characters back online sooner. It’s awful, truly.
I appreciate the work put into these stories by the authors but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve started to include AI generated writing into some of these stories because sometimes the dialogue is just off.
There’s also no transparency as to where all this money we are expected to pay to enjoy this game is going. It can’t be for a “better playing experience” because it’s only gotten worse.
It also seems as though they don’t actually look into the critiques they receive from players, you can tell by their responses to these reviews. It’s the same rendition of “thanks, I’ll let the team know but we’re not going to do anything about it.”
Do not download this game it’s just another extreme pay to win story game that is rapidly decreasing in quality. I will be uninstalling and encouraging my friends to do the same.
So the developers responded and it seems as though they’ve only read the title, hence my earlier mention of them not taking critiques seriously. They responded on 02/23/25 saying “
Every player can download MeChat for free. Also, we added many ways to get free gems as possible so our players aren’t forced to pay anything.” But they failed to recognize that I mentioned said ways, and they didn’t talk about how many ways they’ve limited or completely gotten rid of. So my review of 1 star as of right now stands.

I saw this game in an ad for another game I was playing. I thought this would be more like Episodes where you can actually see your character interact with characters in the stories.
I should’ve known better once I realized the ad itself was AI slop. The animations were off, characters had the wrong number of fingers, or would just completely change characters in the middle of a scene. Just awful.
The game is full of bugs. In the middle of a “date” the game will just freeze and I have to close it out and reopen it, just to lose dialogue and context. The most interactivity you get from this game is changed facial expressions.
Your character remains static and unseen until they speak. The backgrounds are literal melting AI slop. It’s just terrible and unnecessary.
Against my better judgment, I went ahead and got the yearly subscription on discount. Even though it was around 30 bucks, I thoroughly regret my purchase.
The stories are lackluster, the game is not how it was advertised. Save your time, save your money, and if you’re really interested in something… just go with Episodes.

What I can see so far, a lot of characters in these stories look road hard and put away wet. Like people who’ve done too many drugs and do too much Coke.

I could not find an option to make a story about climbing a mountain.

No matter what you say you’re interests are or what you try to filter out, every character lacks substance and always ends up being sex crazed.

like genuinely how does every single dialogue choice somehow manage to be the cringiest most humiliating combination of words i’ve ever read??? it makes this game absolutely unplayable 😭 it’s giving millennials trying to be #savage 😈😏🤪 and #spicy 👀🌶️🤭
idk if it’s the same person writing the dialogue for every single character but it certainly seems like it. please don’t quit your day job friend ❤️

I like the app but the freezing and crashing after a few dialogue bubbles is annoying and ruins any enjoyment.

I want to like this game but all the good choices you need diamonds for it not you have to choose the worst options. On top of that the AI imaging for the backgrounds are so bad.

I love the game but since I just came back on it. it had been really buggy it keep freezing and glitching I can even do one date without it messing up immediately

While using the app it will randomly start glitching the screen, making it flicker. I have to close the app and reopen it for it to work again. This has happened multiple times now.

Every time i try to use this app it freezes in the game, sometimes while in a date, sometimes chatting sometimes I don’t even get past the first page opening before having to open and close it again. So it doesn’t make it worth the hassle to even try to play it anymore

I’ve been on this game for a long time now and just recently it started freezing, the pictures wouldn’t open but it would still take your gems, stops mid-date, the app crashes and sends you back to your home screen; I could go on. The quality is seriously lacking and it’s sad to see one of your favorite games just sitting on the screen, not being able to play it.

My app has been super buggy lately! I’ve never encountered any issues before and have been playing for a few years now. The game will randomly freeze (usually during dates) and I will eventually have to close and reopen the tab to get it working again. I am playing on the totally updated/most current version on iPhone and have waited for these bugs to go away or for a patch to be released, but they have persisted for about a week now and make the game very hard to play with how frequently they occur.

i’ve been playing this game for years. i get this game is being inclusive by using gender neutral pronouns but wish i can be addressed by my preferred pronouns (she/her) so that it feels more immersive. also why can’t i time skip with gems anymore?? i don’t want to watch ads and am willing to use gems to skip it. also very obvious that AI is used to write the stories lol

What’s with the stupid pre written responses? And why can’t I make my own muscular female character? I get the choice of two body types and one of the has actual muscles but it’s male type. Female should have muscles.

I loved this app for the art and how beautiful it was but I just saw a generative A.I. ad for this which filled me with disappointment. Do better and get real artists not A.I. slop.

The first day it was fine, no issues. But the second day its crashing or glitching out severely bad at least every five minutes. Had to close out the app twice during one text conversation and once in the middle of a date. The app overall is fun and overall interesting, especially when im bored. But it needs an update ASAP to fix these issues..

It is an excellent game although game although I wish their were more ways to get more free gems and I do wish that they continued David horns story
