The “safe” network
This app is far from safe. There’s users on here that will go around and accuse people of some very serious things with very little actual evidence. These users are known to stalk other users in hopes to get some kind of evidence to get them ran off. Some of these so called “evidence” sometimes include following someone they don’t like. Reporting on MeWe is useless. I have and several others have also reported to MeWe via email what goes on and their answer is to “just block them.” Lots of people have left MeWe because of these users on top of all the other illegal activity that goes on such as the distribution of porn videos without the consent of the owners, doxxing and other cyber related crimes. Not to mention that storage and other things are locked behind a paywall but the app wants to announce all kinds of partnerships with “artists” instead of actually addressing the real issues on the app. Interestingly they’ve now decided to add features that act like ads that give crypto as a reward for watching these ads. MeWe used to tout themselves on being ad free. Looks like they aren’t anymore.
Videos blocked
This app used to be great now they let you watch five or six videos and then tell you that's it for the day that you have to pay. I've never had to pay for this app. This app is gone downhill. Don't waste your time.

Screen Format Glitch
On my new iPad Air the posting screen / block doesn't open. Just barely see part of a line at the top of the screen with half a cursor. Can't post or edit anything. What good is that?
Dissatisfied
Today I downloaded the Mewe app for the first time and right after I picked topics I’m interested in during sign up I got banned? I’m very confused and disappointed because I was very excited to try out the app but for some reason I’m not allowed in? And yes I have tried to sign up again but it just kept saying something is wrong.
New update, can't use your password to get in
New update, T&C doesn't have accept button. Update logged me out of Google. Want you to log in with Apple or Google instead of your MeWe password. It has a couple good football groups for chat but otherwise I don't use it much, as most groups have extremely low participation. I would like it to be better, but I don't want them to have access to my Apple or Google. Yet, they're always posting how they value your privacy!

I can’t get into my account. Facial recognition usually logs me in but today I’m directed to a sign up page. There is no login page not on the app or on the web. I asked a friend to check MeWe to see if they could sign in and they were able to. They said that my account is still there and they don’t see anything suspicious. So what’s going on? I can’t get customer support because it’s Sunday. And they want my MeWe ID and a screenshot. Heck I can’t give that information without being able to login. So I don’t know what to do.
Can't disable specific notifications
Apple really needs to start banning apps that have notifications that cannot be disabled. No, I don't need to see all of my contacts birthdays. Please let us turn off all these annoying notifications!

I’ve been a user since February 2019, and have had no issues, but recently hackers have been trying to hack me. They’ve hacked some of my friends already.

I dropped ap because I have iPhone and I only get a black screen. You can’t read it. You can’t see anything. It’s terrible. The website needs to be cleaned up.

App has been updated and everything is so much worse. First it changed to Dark Mode all the time with no option to turn it off, and second sort order of posts no longer shows newest posts first. Other UI changes as well

Hi MeWe I'm back with an updated review. Been on mewe since 2017 and this is the only social media app/site that is constantly changing. ZERO consistency. You start to enjoy one thing and then you wonder if the next update is going to ruin it. It's like you haven't found your style but you found it back before these major changes. I don't even recognize the app/site I grew to love.
Bring back private posts, bring back the original UI because 250 characters is not enough for type of social media app/site you are. It only makes sense for apps like Bluesky and Twitter where short quick posts are made and profiles don't need much. That's not MeWe and for the communities you harbor, they need these more customizable profiles.
Also the permanent dark mode is not accessible to those with eye problems like me. If you continue with this UI, I'm afraid I will have to drop MeWe as a routine platform because I can't even see text.

the new UI is unusable
loved the way mewe worked until they got rid of private posts. i LOVED having private post conversations with my friends but now they’re just gone. and now with the new UI update it’s impossible to use on desktop. the moving grid background when you scroll gives me a headache, the feed is no longer chronological so i miss posts from my friends, and having to open a whole new page for groups instead of having them in a tab on the main feed is abysmal. and navigating my chats on the main page is so hard!!! the new UI is impossible and so unintuitive. i’m really considering abandoning the platform. and i know my feedback will fall ob deaf ears-i used to be able to email support and feel heard but now i don’t even get a canned response. at least mobile hasn’t gotten the new update yet so it’s still somewhat usable
Hate the new layout
The new layout is an eyesore. It makes it hard to navigate, and also gives me a headache whenever I am on Mewe. I miss the old layout, I miss having the option to have different categories for interests and relationship status. The transparency on posts is ugly and I hate that pictures are on top of the text now. It feels cluttered and messy. I want to delete the app.
New UI forces dark mode is awful
There really needs to be a way to have light and dark mode options. White/light text on dark backgrounds triggers migraine attacks for me super quickly. I cannot use the app in its current state and I cannot find any setting to go back to a light mode interface.

MeWe just changed layout again. All black like their soul. After having them for past eight years, I will now delete them. You have a good thing going and then screw it all up. Unappealing and no longer user friendly. Will be deleting. Do not expect this review to be posted, they seem to ignore negative posts

Bring back Private Posts
It’s a horrible practice to remove a feature that was so widely used by the users of your own platform. People should be able to let their conversations be private.

Why remove the private post feature?? I enjoy writing among others on this platform and it’s been especially easier to organize through private posts- so why get rid of the feature??? I love this platform and it’s privacy, but i want private posting back. please bring it back and I’ll happily review with 5 stars.
No Private Posts and Constant Bugs
I migrated to MeWe after G+ was shut down and was THRILLED to be able to use private posts and being able to write stories. Now that they removed private posts, it’s ridiculously hard to keep up with my hobby.
There are consistent bugs (ie private chats not showing up, consistent app crashes, etc) as well.

Are you kidding me? They now took the ability to even private post? This app is covered with glitchy bugs, and now one of the only things that made it good falls into the trash. At this point, it's just better to move to Facebook or Discord to actually speak to your friends, cause this app doesn't meet any good qualities
Disappointed Long Timer
Primarily on this platform for writing. Moved way back when, and haven’t had too many gripes. Adding the one star review because the new “improvement” to remove the Private Post features makes ZERO sense. Like… no, I don’t want up to 200 people to see my posts because I have to favorite them. I am 100% happy to remove my one star the minute they backpedal this.
Fixing the things we never asked for
Why did private posts get taken away? It ruins the user experience. You guys could have fixed many other things, like how terrible the video quality on stories is. Seriously, an HD video gets turned into a 140p video after being uploaded to stories. How does that happen? Bring private posts back and focus on actually improving the things that ACTUALLY need to be improved or taken away.

Losing a ton of people
So you ditched the iOS 16 and moved onto the 17 and just ruined a ton of peoples page Ultimately forcing them to have to spend another thousand dollars on a new mobile device or two depending on which one you buy. Thanks a lot and me we.
Useless
I logged into the MeWe app on my iphone 14, and found out that the app is no longer supported unless you have iphone 17 or newer… So I logged into my account on the Safari web browser, and found out I can’t delete my account because that feature doesn’t work on a web browser 🤦🏼♀️ I was hoping I could use this app to have more privacy and less censorship than Facebook, but now I can’t use it at all, so it’s pointless now…

Chats disappearing in MeWe
Can you stop making me lose my chats with ppl by showing me the invite screen. I don’t want to invite others to MeWe I just want to chat with people I have there. I keep downloading and deleting to fix this problem. Stop doing that.
Disappointment with Recent Changes
Dear MeWe Team,I hope this message finds you well. I want to express my disappointment with the recent changes to the platform. I used to enjoy using MeWe, especially after Google+ ceased operations, but I can no longer continue under the current circumstances.The introduction of storage fees for posting pictures is quite frustrating. When did this become a policy? It feels as though the focus has shifted to profit rather than user satisfaction, especially when there are still numerous bugs and issues that need addressing. I have been a loyal user, but if this is not a temporary glitch, my family and I will be taking our business elsewhere. I sincerely hope that you can reconsider these changes and prioritize improving the user experience.Because I love to post and comment,but paying for something like that is ridiculous.
Makes no sense
I’m starting to not understand this platform. Sure it’s an alternative to Facebook but after the almost five years I’ve been on they still have the same function. Nothing has changed except they added green to their image and they praised it like it was a big deal and they merged with blockchain. Still can’t bookmark or save posts, still can’t copy links from a video, still can’t put a bio or anything in an “about section” where people who follow you or not will see it to know anything about your account before sending a request, personal messages get buried in the chat section because..again they still won’t change that, and more so they like to shadow ban. I admin some groups and I can’t change anything with the group, cover photo or update the description of the group to conform to MeWes TOS (which the group follows) and the group owner can’t do anything either. This place is dying off and just not worth it.

I have used this app for years and loved it! it was great and had very interesting unique features to it. however, with it's new updates, the mobile version is so hard to use. they took away the private posts, and force groups we have no interest in on us. this app was great when it was simple and clean. now theres not much setting it aside from facebook or instagram. Bring back private posts! we love private posts!
