Microsoft wants everyone to be on a 365 subscription plan, but then makes it impossible to use the subscribed product by constantly and deliberately logging out the subscriber from the fully-paid account. Since other apps can remember logins, this “login amnesia“ must be a deliberate product strategy because Microsoft makes more profit when customers pay for something that can’t be used!

I no longer use Excel on my iPad as a reliable tool. It’s very different from the desktop versions. On many occasions, too many two count but more than 20 times, Excel on my iPad will not save worksheets, has lost data, despite my saving the document multiple times. I have worked on documents, saved the document five, six, sometimes 10 times. only to have the document not be saved, and all of my data lost. So I no longer use Excel on my iPad. I have loaded, deleted, reloaded, deleted again, with no success.

After approximately 40 yrs using Excel & word, I have been “locked” out. I have tried numerous times to reset my password to no avail, and cannot get any support. I have moved on to other products which work equally as well.
SIgn in issues
Constantly sign in tells me can’t find account try r. Useless. I can log in o just about everything else ok but office suite and I pay for the subscription.
It used to work.
Not sure what you have done, but I’m finding the new excel on iPad almost unusable. I can’t find files, I can’t print. What are you thinking?

App is garbage, if you do any work on from your phone it will not save for you to pull up on your computer.

Constantly logged out
How many times can I get logged out of an account? Every time I go to use this I am required to log in again. It is almost impossible to use this program offline.
Microsoft's sign in system makes their products unusable
Literally have to sign in every time I try to open a document or join a teams call. It never remembers me and it never works to log n. It's so horrible. I literally have two separate paid 365 accounts and Microsoft cannot let me sign into either one. There's always some random error message that says something like "something went wrong". No solution is provided. They literally just leave it at that.

Inconsistent uses between iPad and iPhone
You need to be logged in and with a paid account on iPad to print. For iPhone, you just need to be logged in. Makes excel completely useless on iPad.

App currently does not save what you are working on. If I opened an excel link from email and completed work on a required template . Any disturbance to the app like a minor check on notifications will cause a complete disappearance of any work completed. Then you are left to start over . If the device is connected to the internet and the email link brings you directly to the app why isn’t it saving every keystroke and downloading it to the app.
Floating copilot is a disaster
The floating copilot icon in Excel is a disaster. I’m still not sure why Microsoft would do this. It’s the worst thing they’ve ever done. It takes away valuable screen real estate that I need.
Update makes it not work !!
Horrible !! Why do you update then no longer work !!! It was working fine now i need to load an entire new system !!!
Bought and Paid for but can’t share easily
I have this version for my iPad and another for my Mac; the versions do not play well with each other and you need to pay another version to have them be able to share even when at home
From a good product to a buggy mess
Please stop using AI in development! Your product is now full of bugs, and users have basically become your testers. Files don't open right, files don't save right, among other glitches. I only use it out of habit since I've subscribed for years, but I'm already moving to alternatives.

So when using the app I get invalid credentials error, and the icons are vague. Really it’s a struggle to learn the app.
Nothing ever works.
Half the time it won’t let me edit, even though we pay a subscription. Sometimes it doesn’t load. It’s a terrible program.
Pain in the butt app
I use this app for one thing only: to log mileage when I gas up my car, which for me means I open it about every 30 days. In that time this piece of cr_p has forgotten who I am and makes me sign in again. I’m just trying to get on with my day but now I have to type my full email address in the blazing sun when I can hardly see the screen. It literally takes more time than to fill my empty gas tank.

Extremely frustrating experience. The software gives vague error messages and the recognition capability is awful. Even correctly formatted data is not recognized properly. The support and guidance are not useful. Needs major improvement.
APP NOT EQUIPPED FOR MOBILE USE
This app is not equipped to work on mobile devices. I have had the absolute worst experience over the last few months trying to use this app on my iPhone. I never write reviews but to not be able to use the app on my phone because it is so awful really sucks and hurts my work.

Excel appears to be broken: cut and paste doesn’t work, and it’s impossible to edit because the cursor no longer functions properly. I’m currently searching for a different app that works properly. Excel has become an annoying waste of time.

Can’t take it any longer!
Excel used to be so reliable. After retiring, I only use for home and small business purposes. I just spent over an hour making spreadsheet updates that did NOT save despite having auto save enabled. This has occurred many times over the last 1-2 years and each time I just go ahead and reconstruct the missing updates. Is recovery only possible if using One Drive? If so, that’s terrible. I will likely cancel my subscription and just use IOS Numbers app - for free! I cannot continue with this frustration.
Bad on iPad
They removed so many options to things. It lacks a lot of features from the computer version onto this app especially on iPad you cant do nearly as much as on a computer

Can’t print without turning on all of the Connected Services
Printing worked fine until this update. I now have to enable all of the Connected Services to print. This raises serious security issues in that Microsoft retains much of the private information that is contained in a spreadsheet.
