Figured this would be a scam. It’s simply a bunch of spa music recordings they want you to pay for monthly. Go to cancel your trial, it just tells you you made the subscription outside the app. Go to the website and manage your subscription and it sends you to the app. Round and round. Follow their PayPal FAQ, nothing there to cancel. 👎

Issues with app reliability
My app freezes and I can’t use it

Every time I open the app I’m prompted to record my voice, forced to watch the intro video and asked to subscribe AGAIN. cancelled my subscription as this is ridiculous and annoying. I miss synctuition. Oh that’s also annoying. I lost all my progress and had to start at the first session again.
Quality over quantity
This app has really gone downhill. I liked what it was five years ago but it’s not what it used to be. Logging me and having to log back in everytime is annoying not to mention the constant bombardment of the discount offer that I already have. I liked what it was five years ago. It was simple and wasn’t overly complex. I miss it when it was just Synctuition no AI images. Really disappointed what this app has turned into. The app that was once great has lost its appeal to me.

It would be so great if this app would just remember my email. Every. Single. Time. I go to use into this app, it logs me out and it doesn’t even remember my login email. It forces me to reset my password every time. This app is otherwise is really great and I wish I didn’t have to give it a bad review, but I’m so frustrated. I miss Synctuition. This is too glitchy. Reached out to MindSpa who told me they cannot issue refunds only Apple, which is a lie. Because I called Apple to report fraud. Apple advised me that this is not true. The app can absolutely issue refund so it was a big headache. Beware.

Stopped working for no reason
After using and enjoying MinsSpa for months it stopped allows me to sign on. I have been kind of corresponding with support for approximately three weeks, and multiple emails. Apparently it cannot be fixed. I would give it five stars except for this problem, so I will give it one star.
Great idea, App doesn’t function
The app is a great idea and I was very excited about it. I followed the prompts, recorded, read, took the test. Ready to begin, I tried each of the options (Sound journey, Sound Bath, Background Music) and NONE of them would play. They just said loading, then error - at which point I had to close the app as there was no way to “X” out. I did this for about an hour. On cell data, on a 5G WiFi, on a 2.5 wifi. NOTHING. I couldn’t find a help link, the FAQs were of no use. Going to the website didn’t answer, and it wouldn’t allow me to login on the website - app, yes but website, no. Expensive app with beautiful potential that seems to be just a shell with no actual content. Dear Mindspa creators, would you mind fixing this?

Just another scam unfortunately
I did the free trial and cancelled. They still charged my credit card the next 2 months. I tried to go in the app to see what happened but it said I didn’t have an account anymore. So I emailed them to refund the $40. They said it was signed up for twice but only cancelled once. What?!?! Never again. I usually don’t do these app things for exactly this reason.
Far too much money for what it is.
Songs frequently won’t load or play even though I have a full year membership. “Audiobook” has been “coming soon” for at least a year by now. Perfectly good instrumental music is ruined by guttural exclamations. I think these are supposed to sound exotic or shamanistic but they really just sound pretentious. The intros to each “sound journey” are pedantic and ridiculous. I’d gladly take a refund for the time I have left on my year membership because I sure won’t be using it.
Can’t delete [0 stars :3]
It’s exactly what the title says! I had this a while ago, it was trash and barely useful if you don’t pay, and I wanted to see why I deleted it! Turns out I had a good reason and in less then 2 minutes I was bored and I tried to delete it. But for some reason every time I tried to delete it, it just gave me 2 options: remove from Home Screen, or cancel. I DONT WANT TO REMOVE IT FROM SIGHT I WANT TO REMOVE IT FROM THE MEMORY OF MY PHONE. This is very frustrating and my dad *who if I’m not mistaken worked at a phone company* couldn’t even figure out how to fix it. So now I have a totally useless app taking up storage on my old and laggy phone, SO ITS GONNA GET EVEN LAGGIER IF YOU BOZOS DONT FIX THIS!
Update: so I was messing with my phone and the not being able to delete glitch fixed itself so yay! But uh the dev response was useless and late so uhm… Ik there are a lot of reviews that they check and respond to but yes. Impossible to cancel trial subscription
This is hardly a relaxing app. I developed a headache from the noises so I went to delete / cancel the trial subscription and found I couldn’t!

Did not help meditation
It didn’t work for me. Most of the sound journeys I did actually stressed me out and did not help my meditation practice. ASMR overlay was one of the worst parts for me.
After the developer responded to my review I want to add that I love meditation and have great experiences in meditation often. What I was saying in my review was how ineffective this app was in getting me to a state of meditation, even after using it daily and trying over 25 of the meditations and spending over 9 hours on it . I believe meditation is for everyone and just because your app is not effective don’t tell people meditation isn’t for everyone. The reality is your app is not for everyone.
After the developer responded to my review I want to add that I love meditation and have great experiences in meditation often. Impossible to access
I have subscribed twice - with a yearly subscription - and it is 100% inaccessible. I am never able to sign in. Ridiculous and disappointing.

This app won’t play any of the Sound Journeys. Very frustrating to see “sorry we can’t play this track” for every. Single. One.
Difficulty using app
App keeps asking me to join. I have already joined for the year. I also can’t access things that keep saying “coming soon.” When is exactly coming soon? This is a lot of money to pay for an app without have access to things it promises.
Full of Bugs
The App itself is pretty Awesome! I use it almost every single day. The reason for the one Star is because it’s full of bugs.
-Settings dialog box opens up every time upon opening App.
-Sessions do not stop upon completion. Automatically starts next session.
-Does not default to the last session completed. Always defaults to level 8.
I will probably not renew this coming April. I’m currently looking for another Meditation App.

Unstable
Does not track correctly. I have had it for two years and listen most nights but two or three times a week it asks if I want to sign up for Midspa!? Like what? Five times

NO FREE TRIAL - ITS A SCAM
They advertise a free seven day trial for this app. As soon as you sign up for the trial, you are charged $100 for an annual subscription. And good luck trying to get a refund through Apple if you signed up for it through your iPhone. SCAM AND WASTE OF MONEY.
Synctuition was ruined by “MindSpa”
I Used to listen to synctuition but broke the habit. Decided to go back and build the habit again, but when I did it was updated to MindSpa.
I’ve been trying for a couple weeks now, on and off, to try and listen to synctuition, but it never plays all the way through. Instead it constantly jumps and starts play a different meditation. Like a skipping record but each skip takes you to another meditation.
In addition, even though I paid for a year, if you don’t set the app to renew automatically it won’t let you access the App.

Crashes and skips galore
The past few weeks, the app has been pausing and restarting midway through meditations. There have also been several instances where it just skips around tracks like crazy.

The app is highly unreliable and often times tracks dont play, or worse skip ahead to the next track partway through. Support asks for a bunch of data, then tells u to update the app, it works for a short while then resurfaces again and again and again. Not zen

This app just all around doesn’t work. I have no idea if the binaural sounds in these meditations do anything because I haven’t been able to properly and consistently do the program.

I reached out to support for help and all they did was give me a link for the mediations on YouTube. Excuse me? The app that I paid 100 bucks for is giving me links on YouTube? How does my journey update or how do I progress with that?

Great product but app is too buggy
I have had this app for a while and I love the spatial sound. However, the app is extremely buggy. I have updated, deleted and reinstalled, but it still will randomly skip in the middle of a meditation to another meditation. It is very jarring when you are in a nice flow. Please fix!

intro needs help
The intro to every episode is abrasively loud. The sound isn’t balanced so I have to turn it all the way down then up, then down again
and up. Also the skip all intros toggle doesn’t work. I have it toggled on but I still hear the intros which is okay because I like the girl the explains the upcoming episode it’s just the chime before and the chime after that’s too loud.

Constantly glitching
I’ve had this app for years but for like the last 3 months it’s constantly glitching not loading my sounds. I pay for the whole year & my renewal just came for $100 not trying to pay that much for a app that’s constantly crashing
Disappointed
There’s not much you can do with this app unless you sign up for $96 a year. I’d recommend expand by the Monroe institute instead
Annoying
The sound journeys are wonderful. What is not is the fact that every time I open the app I'm presented with the screen prompt to allow for notifications. I DONT want notifications from this app. Ever. Please remove that prompt so I can just get to my meditation!
Attempted to try it out expecting a trial of some sort
It’ll introduce you to a very cinematic video, followed by you recording your voice by repeating their name three times and you’ll take a quiz that is followed by a longer than necessary loading screen which is absolutely pretending to do more than it actually is.
Once that’s done you’ll be greeted with the third opportunity to pay for a years subscription before ever finding out what this app actually is. Upon closing that you are not shown your results.
The app is full of AI generated artwork and overall feels highly manipulative from the start.

I like it but
Update: for some reason mindfulness minutes are no longer logged in the health app. While I know for many that doesn’t matter but for me, I totally enjoy being out on metrics. So I really miss that and will probably not renew my membership when this one ends. I have other mediation apps that do log mindfulness minutes in Apple health, so I will opt to use them instead if this isn’t fixed. I’ve used a ton of meditation products and none have come close to this one. The sounds are great and audio quality even better. I find myself looking at my life and growing during each session. I tend to use this app about twice a day and am really happy I stumbled on it. I will continue to use it for years to come. It is truly worth the cost. If it seems a little expensive just sacrifice your Starbucks our Dunkin’ Donuts coffee a few times and you’ll be able to easily afford. Great stuff and thank you to the development team that created this.
Great concept- but app works poorly.
I can’t access downloaded tracks because I get logged out without wifi and often the app abruptly ends a track and goes onto the next one. The exact opposite of what you want from a deep meditation.
My Meditation History was lost
I was a user of MindSpa when it was still Synctuition. I did the recent upgrade and all my years of previous meditations have been lost. I can’t find how to restore my meditations and I was on Level 4-session 14! I loved the app but I do not want to go back to level 1, so I guess I’m stuck. That’s why I’m giving it such a low rating
